There’s an option to buy just the controller, without the camera. Does this mean I would be able to open/close with my phone but… if not at home, I couldn’t check to see if it was open or closed?
You mention AI capabilities at the the 2:35 mark, but I don't get how a QR sticker can be interpreted as AI. I take AI as the ability to know if the door is closed just by looking at the door itself. This is 100% dependent on line of sight between the camera and QR sticker. Considering that many people use their garage as a storage shed there's a high percentage this wold not work for because of loss of line of sight. Given this, go with a sensor solution if your garage motor isn't compatible with myQ. For those asking about Alexa, from what I've learned no garage controller solution will allow you to use Alexa or Google to open the door, only to close it.
I love wyze and will probably buy this but please don't call QR code reading "AI technology". Ooo can this work with the pan 2 because I have a door in my garage I would like to keep in camera view.
I'm curious...I installed my Wyze Garage Door controller and V3 cam but as of yesterday I no longer see the little button in the app allowing me to open/close the door. I called Wyze yesterday. 5/24/2022 just installed Wyze garage door opener. I had tried many other brands, acidea, asante.2.0 with camera. But they all lose wifi connectivity from time to time since my garage is not closest to my home..They all had Alexa/Google voice open and close. SO I AM DISAPPOINTED IF WYZE DOES NOT GET THIS DONE..! I still have the other guys cam in my garage so Wyze hurry to update with these feature. It is a must!!! I am a wyze customer so i have my entire house with there products. So easy to install and cheaper then the other Brands.. But no Google/alexa voice control....Negative 😢 😔
One big flaw is the QR code on the door. What happens if that area of the garage/door is full of storage items? Couldn’t you just use AI to determine open and close states? You have “eyes”…. Not rocket science.
As seen at 00:34, just put it at the very top of the garage door. Not sure why/how anyone would would have storage items obstructing the door at that height.
I have a car park with 6 car spots. Can I each driver access to the Wyze interface so they can open the garage instead of giving them all remotes? This way I can easily revoke someone's access to the garage. Anyone done this? Possible? Would using the app to open the garage be a pain?
would be better if they just integrated the controller into Wyze cam v3 like the momentum garage door opener and allow for more than one garage door opener. And keep the price around $50, shouldn't be too hard. Momentum also has a built in SD card slot but includes cloud recording for free, no need to pay for a cam plus subscription.
FYI: YOU CAN NOT INSTALL THE WYZE GARAGE CONTROLLER IF YOU HAVE A WYZE SPOTLIGHT INSTALLED..YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG THE Y SPITTLER POWER CORD THE COMES WITH THE SPOTLIGHT AND ONLY USE THE SPLITTER POWER CORD THAT COMES WITH THE GARAGE controller..
How can you assure you will not have any security holes patched after years? Controlling a garage door with security issue is equivalent of opening the front door for everyone.
Right, after leaving the cameras unpatched for so long and not telling your customers about the issue is a problem. How can you trust a company with your door security like the garage door and front door lock.
Soooo alexa cant actually control the garage door, just open the camera view? I can tell my device to "show me the garage" and it will. When I say "close the garage" I am told "sorry garage camera does not support that". That is pretty disappointing. The whole point for me was to be able to use voice commands from my car. I still have to fiddle with my phone to get the door open now. Was kind of a waste for me.
I've tried a couple others and neither work consistently. Ordered this one...we'll see. Meross is just plain junk. Nexx is/was better but sometimes features stop working and you've made no changes to the app or hardware configuration. Their tech support is a day behind (probably overseas) and they'll have you change a bunch of stuff - and it still won't work.
Yea not the best setup Wyze sorry, I love my Samsung smart things set up I put it up five years ago and yes it has a small, very small sensor with a battery that's over 5 years old and zero issues. I also have a Wyze cam set up to look to see if the door is open. That QR code sheet on the door isn't it, I'm sorry. You say the sensor can fall off, lol mine is screwed on also I see that sheet of paper falling off instantly, especially with my kids. I still love my Wyze cams.
Unfortunately Wyze can’t figure out how to make each camera have a distinct ring tone. So you can’t tell by sound which camera has been tripped. However the doorbell sound box has like 20 sounds (not used in app) and all the camera notifications sound the same for all their products…come on Wyze it’s 2022, you can’t write the code for this in your app????
No, that means the actual wyze car that wyze sells . It’s a remote control car that has a WCO attached to it . Pretty sure no one buys it , except for the wyze fan boys
I used to like Wyze a lot. Now I just like them. Or rather just their V3 cams that I own. I recently removed their HMS. I tried really hard to like it. Their motion sensors were garbage and I got tired of constant false alarms and calls from Noonlite. I wish they would work on the issues their customers present to them instead of sweeping them under the rug and coming out with more junk.
Sorry but I don’t want an ugly QR code even on the inside of my door. Plus what if a box or bicycle etc. is in the way? Going with a sensor would have been more reliable. It was funny to hear them try and spin how unreliable sensors supposedly are considering that WYZE themselves use door sensors in their security product. Come on guys. 🙄
I’ve been using Garadgit for years that works with Google, Alexa, IFTTT. I also use a PanCam2 that looks out over the driveway. To check to see if my garage door is actually open or closed all I have to do is pan around and look inside the garage. When it detects a person on the driveway I just tell my echo show to show me the driveway and I can see exactly who’s out there. The majority of this is voice activated and I rarely ever have to open an app on my phone. I have programmed into my Google on my phone that all I have to do is say I’m home and the garage door opens… Pretty simple. I’ve been doing this for years! Why is this such a long time coming from Wyze? My whole house is Wyzed out.
gonna stick with my sensors sorry... also you guys suck about google assistant support so just gonna have your cam v2 with my other smart opener. not everyone uses Alexa guys, im still waiting for the robot vacuum support after a year. also most sensors don't use battery that would be stupid.
Just like MyQ, it fails to add an option to auto-close when open for longer than X seconds/mins. It’s such a simple feature, yet no one adds it. Not buying until this is added.
Hi, with this wyze one you can set it up with alexa so after it has been open for x mins it can close in its own. In alexa, make a routine and add the garage sensor in the “when this happens” then in the “add action” add a wait command for x mins then add another action and use the custom command to say “close the garage door” :)
MyQ will automatically close my door after 10 mins after it beeps and flashes the connected light. I'm guessing this feature is only present on the door openers with MyQ built in and not the add-on device. Maybe?
Geez, Wyze. Instead of creating goofy products like this to sell more V3 cams, why don't you fix what's broken with your existing products, like making RTSP standard and reliable with your cams? This is completely unnecessary. You don't need a HD cam for a garage door opener. You can use a crappy 720 for that (if that's something you really want). Also, most modern garage door openers are already smart, integrating with Google, Siri, Alexa, etc. with the ability to open/close your door anywhere in the world. If you don't have a smart garage door, don't do what this product is selling... it's way overkill. A QR code for your garage door? Are you kidding me? Wyze needs a massive QR code plastered on the inside of your garage door to determine whether or not it's open. This is hilarious. If all you're trying to do is determine if you left your GD open, pick up a $16 Aqara sensor and call it a day. The talking head claims that they fall off and the batteries fail. Maybe he's just doing it wrong. Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol and press for 30 seconds. It will stick like glue forever. As for the battery, you can monitor that through the app. I have door sensors all over my house and they are absolutely reliable and the batteries last a long time. Overkill, Wyze. This is a weird, obsolete solution, with little integration outside the Wyze app.
Idk I prefer to have the qr code. It's one less thing that can go wrong since I could probably print one myself vs reaching out to customer service and asking the company for a replacement. I have MyQ garage opener and I had to initiate a claim to get a sensor replaced and they had to go through all the prompts of factory resetting, recalibrating and restarting my wifi when I already did so. Then I had to wait a week to have it replaced. Wyze is for sure working smarter, not harder. Reusing their own cameras for another product. Fucking genius if you ask me. People are going to buy it. Me? Probably not...yet. Once they integrate it with Amazon Alexa I will.
"Let's talk about the amazing features..." So it uses "AI sensing technology to detect if the door is open or closed" Well, if it uses AI sensing technology, why do I need an ugly paper sticker qr code taped to my door? You can tell if a person is moving or if my dog is on the porch, but a 13 foot wide 10 foot high door, nope, need a qr code. Then he goes on to say there are other products that require a sensor, but that those aren't as reliable or as smart as that piece of paper that you tape up. I really wanted this, but the QR code on the door isn't going to work for me and I have a wyzecam on my garage, but it is just far enough from the wifi that it says offline about 60% of the time. If there was an option for a battery failing sensor that falls off (note they use the same 3m tape that the wyzecam uses) I would take that over the paper that will definitly fall off when it gets in the negative degrees and even the 3m tape fails. But really, you just need to program the "AI sensing technology" to sense if the door is open.
Just leaving feedback. Not a big fan of placing that oversized QR code sticker on the garage door. Was ready to purchase as a gift until that part of your video. Consider other options.
Unfortunately if you want Amazon Key delivery. Wyze garage door is already obsolete. Amazon only works with MyQ key deliveries. Thanks wyze but no thanks . No one asked for this.
Again, Wyze trying to be the master of many products rather than the master of the core product line that made them Wyze. The WyzeCam V3 was announced in 2020, yet in 2022 as other brands expand their camera product line with 2K resolution and support for the future Matter standard, crickets from Wyze.
@@TheOnlyJohnAbraham I just expect them to be upfront and disclose their vulnerabilities and patch them in a timely manor and not hide them from their customers. Or end support on a product line because they chose to not patch it leaving the entire line of products vulnerable to attacks. Even Microsoft will step up and patch an end of life OS like XP or Win7 to protect its customers. It’s just good business.
That QR code is ridiculous! How about we all wear tshirts with QR codes on them. We should have QR codes on our cars so that you can only drive it if you have the shirt on. Or how about you have the camera be smart enough to know the difference between a closed door and an open door.

I have liftmaster P200 with myq, and this one doesn't work at all. I tried wiring the learning wires from the controller with the door, no luck.
can i program this to be open automatic when i get close to the house??
if it doesn't use sensors, will it stop from going down if there is a dog or child that runs through?
There’s an option to buy just the controller, without the camera. Does this mean I would be able to open/close with my phone but… if not at home, I couldn’t check to see if it was open or closed?
You need to have your own V3 camera to use this
Will it work with Amazon Key?
No
You mention AI capabilities at the the 2:35 mark, but I don't get how a QR sticker can be interpreted as AI.
Hey WYZE!
Majority of houses in TEXAS have 2-3 CAR GARAGE DOORS, so what we need to do about it?
Thank you!
I guess I'm in the minority then
I love wyze and will probably buy this but please don't call QR code reading "AI technology".
What a waste of time that call was. I deleted the cam and garage door controller and started fresh. Still, no access to open/close the door in the app. The V3 cam works but not the controller. Thoughts?
Hello Richard. We’re so sorry to hear this! We’d be happy to look into this further. Could you please send us the 7-digit support request ticket number you received when you reached out to us?
@@wyze I was on the call for nearly 20 minutes (July 22, 2023 4:17PM MST) after which the woman said she was referring my concern to higher level support and I would receive an email to follow up on my issue but I never did. This was completely disappointing. I want to call again about this issue but I'm not motivated to contact Wyze support. I never received an email with a ticket number.
Thanks for the info! We were able to locate your recent call today. I went ahead and reached out to one of our specialists to look into this for you. They will email you shortly.
@@wyze I ordered just a controller today. I hope it works.
Looks like a good upgrade but the QR code may cause some other issues.
can it disarm the house???
Wyze has jumped the shark
Nice ✊🏾 Question: Would I get 2 controllers (which means 2 QR codes) but 1 Wyze Cam if I have 2 garage doors?
Agreed. was ready to give this as a gift until I saw that part. Could be a major turnoff for many people.
As seen at 00:34, just put it at the very top of the garage door. Not sure why/how anyone would would have storage items obstructing the door at that height.
Does wyze garage opener works with Ryobi opener? Can't see it in the list
No, it doesn't.
can one not move the camera back more so you can see more of the garage?? (as long as it reads the code?
I tried that so I could see my cars, but it was too far for the sensor to read the QR.
I have a car park with 6 car spots. Can I each driver access to the Wyze interface so they can open the garage instead of giving them all remotes? This way I can easily revoke someone's access to the garage. Anyone done this? Possible? Would using the app to open the garage be a pain?
Geofence?
would be better if they just integrated the controller into Wyze cam v3 like the momentum garage door opener and allow for more than one garage door opener. And keep the price around $50, shouldn't be too hard. Momentum also has a built in SD card slot but includes cloud recording for free, no need to pay for a cam plus subscription.
FYI:
YOU CAN NOT INSTALL THE WYZE GARAGE CONTROLLER IF YOU HAVE A WYZE SPOTLIGHT INSTALLED..YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG THE Y SPITTLER POWER CORD THE COMES WITH THE SPOTLIGHT AND ONLY USE THE SPLITTER POWER CORD THAT COMES WITH THE GARAGE controller..
What happens when the power goes out?
Hi there! If the power goes out in your home, your Wyze Garage Controller will not function because it's powered to your garage opener.
Does this work with Google assistant?
Hi there! Yes, Wyze Garage Door Controller does work with Google Assistant. 😀
Please fix the Wyze Alexa skill, which keeps disabling a few times a month.
Please create a Face ID doorknob & locks for storage.
Lol they have low power mode on at 100% on a new iphone
Unfortunately Wyze can’t figure out how to make each camera have a distinct ring tone. So you can’t tell by sound which camera has been tripped. However the doorbell sound box has like 20 sounds (not used in app) and all the camera notifications sound the same for all their products…come on Wyze it’s 2022, you can’t write the code for this in your app????
This guy doesn't own a socket wrench.
Or a PHD in Acting
@5:24 - “Wyze Car” … aka Dash Cam?!?
Hmmmmmmm…..
No, that means the actual wyze car that wyze sells . It’s a remote control car that has a WCO attached to it . Pretty sure no one buys it , except for the wyze fan boys
Is there a way to arrest uncle jerry? alert the police?
You need to sell a 2'x2' QR code so people can mount the camera at the back wall not at the garage opener.
Dare I ask… will it work with Apple HomeKit?
Wyze does not work with HomeKit
I love your product!!! But if you can make your device work with Apple HomeKit it will be super amazing!!!!!
Hahahahha how i will see my door when i am outside and the wyze cam v3 didn’t work with 4G or 5G data mobile
All my v3's (all my Wyze cams actually) work fine with my mobile data. Weird that yours dont.
gonna stick with my sensors sorry... also you guys suck about google assistant support so just gonna have your cam v2 with my other smart opener. not everyone uses Alexa guys, im still waiting for the robot vacuum support after a year. also most sensors don't use battery that would be stupid.
What kind of support do you want for the robot vac? Ours is on a time so at a certain time each week, it does its thing. I don't need to talk to it.
Just like MyQ, it fails to add an option to auto-close when open for longer than X seconds/mins. It’s such a simple feature, yet no one adds it. Not buying until this is added.
I just set the myQ and the wyze (when it arrives )to send me an alert if garage has been open for X amount of minutes and close it myself.
Hi, with this wyze one you can set it up with alexa so after it has been open for x mins it can close in its own. In alexa, make a routine and add the garage sensor in the “when this happens” then in the “add action” add a wait command for x mins then add another action and use the custom command to say “close the garage door” :)
@@VinnyCam thanks, Vinny. I’ll give this a try.
@@n8236 let me know! :)
MyQ will automatically close my door after 10 mins after it beeps and flashes the connected light. I'm guessing this feature is only present on the door openers with MyQ built in and not the add-on device. Maybe?
Can’t get WYZE to respond to issues I have with their products so….
It might replace my myQ
Well I don't see any purpose for this but based on the comments seems like some do, so that's good
Does this work with Siri? Anyone
I love you Wyze!
you must be joking
Wifi range sucks. Camera offline always. Returning it
Great product......but ya need a new spokesperson 🤠🤠🤠🤣🤣🤣
Unfortunately if you want Amazon Key delivery. Wyze garage door is already obsolete. Amazon only works with MyQ key deliveries. Thanks wyze but no thanks . No one asked for this.
And of course my garage door is not compatible since I have the yellow learn button👎🏽
Again, Wyze trying to be the master of many products rather than the master of the core product line that made them Wyze. The WyzeCam V3 was announced in 2020, yet in 2022 as other brands expand their camera product line with 2K resolution and support for the future Matter standard, crickets from Wyze.
Sooooooooo
It's a $35 camera and it does what it advertises. Why do you expect the latest and greatest in a budget product? You might want to look elsewhere.
@@TheOnlyJohnAbraham exactly…
Wyze has one of the most whiney user bases imaginable.
Tired of new products when you don’t fulfill our needs like HomeKit support.
Coming from an Apple user, you’re wasting a whole lot of time and money if you’re building your smart home around HomeKit.
@@roguegeek I disagree. Switched from an Amazon based home and couldn’t be happier.
@@zbellman Your original statement contradicts your claimed happiness.
@@roguegeek It doesn't. Just because one company doesn't support HomeKit, doesn't mean Im unhappy with HomeKit. Theres a real missed opportunity here though. For example, My current garage door opener shows up on my CarPlay home screen when I get into my neighborhood. With Wyze, ill have to get my phone out and open their app to interact with the garage door, making it less convenient than just using the remote that came with it.
FIX YOUR AI
How about some Siri support?
Who ? Get an android. Crapple is crap
