Woah, Avo, this is wild! I honestly don't see Cortez's theme being remixed very often - and maybe because it's a tricky composition to begin with - but whatever the reason, I'm pumped that you were up to the challenge! I feel like your sound style is a perfect fit for this piece, and gives it an extra bit of intensity that befits the battle. En guarde! ⚔ Before anything else, I have to say that these drums are absolutely top-tier. Like, _dang_ man, how do you keep pulling it off with literally every remix?! With all due respect to the original, your percussive elements here absolutely blow the OST version drums out of the water (brace yourself for more puns, by the way). Your ability to create powerful, realistic drums is truly unmatched, and I love the detail work that goes into them. For instance, your kick rhythms are always varied and dynamic, using syncopation and mix-ups, like at 0:55. And don't even get me started on that cymbal work! Between the dense hi hats and the expertly-integrated crashes, you've got an assortment of sick rhythms that just feel cool to listen to. Ooh, and those tom fills, too - like seriously, every phrase has some kind of unique lead-in, fill, or rhythmic mix-up. Keep doing what you're doing with the drums, because it is working! And not to discount the instrumentation, because you have some great instrument choices here. Starting with the bass... man, does it hit! You've got so much going on in the low end with the kick and toms, yet the bass slices through the mix like a cutlass with that saturated, growly, acid-sounding texture. I especially love where it gets kind of weird and funky at the aforementioned 0:55 segment. It's awesome that you took cues from the original bass sounds while making it entirely your own. And those leads are wild, as well, with some great vibrato and pitch bend effects - super clean sounds, too. I also love how you layered in that harpsichord-sounding instrument at 1:49 for a ringing texture it makes for an excellent finale! Your video editing is hilarious here, and I laughed out loud with that "jumpscare" at the beginning. 😂 That wave animation really swept me away and the hue shift effect was quite a mind trip! This video remix is truly a gem among gems! And your description hits right in the funny bone, with nonsensical humor in a flavor that's characteristic of your channel. Speaking of which, I like your updated channel description, too! (yeah, I read that stuff 😁) Keep up the amazing work, my friend!
