These are the best style videos. Seeing you play “tournament style” where we see your score while you use a limited bag on various courses would be so amazing for us to have to almost compete against when we play them with our full bags. Almost like these guys in the c-tier who I’m sure are gonna be watching this to see how they stacked up.
Weird Science Simon.....Simon Science. 13 teenish-14 longtime MVP thrower here. Been doing it since there was only 4 discs to try....Vector/Axis/Ion/Anode They were so Beautiful sitting on that shelf amongst all the rest at that shop right down the road from Cedar Hill in Nashville TN in early 2011 when I really got into DG. Ice Blue Proton Ion. Purple " " Anode. Clear " " Vector, Green " " Axis. Been There. Still HERE. Long Live MAPLE VALLEY PLASTIC!!!
88 in MPO at an A-tier in NorCal the week between OTB and BSF. Only 2 of the top 10 were not touring pros. They're on the Tour for a reason. It's a blast to get smoked... on occasion.
Only been playing for a little over a year, and literally half my bag is Craves in various levels of stability. It's really made the sport enjoyable and accessible for me.
I have that same glow buzzz in my bag. It's more overstable that any other buzzz I've ever thrown. I don't even like the buzzz, feels gross in my hand, but it goes farther than any other mid I've ever thrown so I force myself to throw it.
Could you add a tracking device for your discs? They're almost impossible to see in the air 😅 also, thank you so much for the amazing content you provide us with!
I think they have a round press cutter for offcuts, which they used to cut off the outer part of the rim. Then they just trim it with edge trimmer/profiler and overmold as usual.
Simon, we appreciate all your hard work and dedication to making these videos as well as your camera crew and editors! Every one I watch brings me joy. You have the best attitude out of any disc golfer in my opinion and I respect the hell out of you, brother. I hope to one day meet you as you are my favorite disc golfer of all time. Maybe, just maybe with a simple handshake you can bless me with some of that power and I can reach 400ft on a consistent basis.. 😅 Peace and love my friend! Blessings and Godspeed
This is wild, I wonder how the joining is done in tooling. An overmold implies you already have a disc to a certain shape to be overmolded. Very curious about the discs like the TL and the P2 and how that was done. Cool! *Edit: I think Simon is right, I expect a jig/fixture is used to constrain a disc and remove material in a methodical way and down to a certain diameter to fit in the overmold tooling.. no idea how they close/shutoff the tooling though. MVP doing cool stuff!
Actually witnessed the drive on one…first it was epic…but it was turning so hard and for so long how it found the late stability to come out of it was nothing short of amazing. Even though you are seeing it you still cant believe it! Need you back on tour Simon!
They most likely put them in a milling machine or CNC machine to cut the discs to the specs of the overmold inner dimensions, and they obviously have those. Then probably use their regular overmold machine to do what it does.
I’ll save you the wonder, the rim is far more important than the flight plate. For the most part, any franken-disc (plastics used aside) will fly pretty much like the rim.
Innova TL and the Crave are very similar in dimensions. It makes sense they have similar flight. Diameter: both are 21.1cm Rim Height: TL-1.6 cm & Crave- 1.4 cm Rim depth: both are 1.2 cm Rim width: both are 1.8 cm Inside rim depth: TL 17.5 Inside rim depth: Crave 17.4
so what im thinking, is this provides a great opportunity to possibly reuse discs. if the rim gets too beaten in, perhaps you can send discs back to get a regrind and an overmold, potentially reducing the overall footprint behind each disc.
I could imagine them using a lathe and setting a depth on some sort of cutting utensil and then just shaving off the outer diameter of the disc that they need to be removed maybe even with a notch, so the other plastic is able to bond better just my thought , sick video though I’ve always wondered if other companies would follow suit and do over molded discs or is it proprietary technology ? I’m using some clash Discs with tone technology right now and I’m verry impressed with them
I believe there is a machine that trims all the cores after they are molded. It's a two step process to make mvp discs. Also they have the overmold patent which is why you only see different overmold types like innovas 4 point, or clash tone.
I’ve got an idea for you! Go to a relatively simple 300 foot hole, and see how many times out of 10 you can birdie that hole. How many times you can consistently birdie a hole… or 18! Can you throw the same shot 18 times in a row? Is that what separates us from the greats? I know they have distance, but man would it be cool to see him early hole over and over again
If you want to play a nice free course while you are in Minnesota you should play Robbins Island Regional Park in Willmar Minnesota. I know the weather may make casual rounds tough but it’s fairly close (a hour west of of Clearwater) and a nice course.
How long parental leave do you get? Just curious as how things are in other countries : ) We get either 49 weeks with 100 % pay, or 59 weeks with 80 % pay. The mother can choose to use up to 12 weeks of the parental leave before the childbirth as well.
Have you done a video of how much the overmolded discs are different from their two counterparts? I'd love to see how the time breaker matches up against a cloud breaker and a time lapse. It's interesting to see
I want to see a vid where MVP does the same for Eagle, and then Simon and Eagle square off with their separate Franken-discs. Hmmm, now that I think about it, do the same with James, although I don't know what he used to throw with Innova.
Curious how this could affect your actual game. Other players are probably dialing in their discs. You are somewhat new to MVP and playing with weird discs. Aluminum discs ect. Ect. You rock and are one of the best in the world. But I think you could really take some tournaments if you put the RUclips aside and put in the bag only practice all year. Dial them in till you can't anymore. But you probably already did that and now having fun lol. Keep rocking dude. I love the content.
I've loved axiom about 2 year's be Simon signed thanks to my random purchase of a pyro that I still have and my favorite disc. It's blurple never had a stamp. Flys like a super glidey pig now
I mean the upshot on hole 3 was purely the beautiful interpretation of the greatest actor dead or alive…. Mr. Bruce Campbell that was stamped on the disc.
Get them to make a double overmold, where its like a full regular putter like a proxy and then you put a dimension rim on it or something crazy like that
They can't just do anything on anything, the discs have to have the same thickness where the rim meets up, he discusses this in the video where the discs are first introduced.
“Why am I hitting every tree?” 2 seconds later “I’m gonna aim for those three trees and hope I miss.” 😂😂
As I say , If you’re playing well aim for the gaps and if you’re playing badly aim for the trees.
At that point, I was listening more than watching and laughed so hard!!!
Bahaha
@@philipallen6220 truest of wisdom😂
Shoutout Ben for the vibes and MVP for signing Simon and making this vlog fun
16:10 Should I release a full cover of the song unwritten? 🤔 Let me know! 🤣
Do it!
@benjaminkenney yes. Yes you absolutely should. Some might say it is what the world needs to hear right now.
we need it ben😤
Ben is a great addition. Feel the rain on my skin 😂
Buzz with the Hex should have been called the honeycomb!!
That’s exactly what I thought, also the hive
Or Bumbledore
Insane what MVP can do for you. Also the content with them is pure gold. Love to see it. Happy belated Fathers Day as well 🤝
When Simon throws a Time-Breaker he's also throwing the Rain-maker! 😂
R2-P2
The fact mvp let’s this happen is amazing
This just seems to be so Brad and Chad, so to speak. They just seem to be all about experimenting and having fun with it.
Next Video: "Simon Throws a Pizza Hut Personal-Pan Pizza with a Time Lapse Rim"

"We're doing this for Simence!"
-MVP, probably
That was so much fun, do more of these... Good stuff Simon and Ben!!
Definitely break out the “Frankendiscs” for a Halloween round!!!!!
lmao I love it how you, PDGA PRO SIMON LIZOTTE, are like can I sign up for this and get disqualified just to try dis disc
More pros should crash C-Tiers just for fun. I’d love to see a top pro decimate our local course.

Thumbs up to MVP for doing this kind of stuff.
What a cool company to work for that gives you your old favorites re imagined. Mvp gets major points for that. For the love of the sport!

My favourite overmold is the lat64 gobi.
Kinda sad they stopped making them. It’s such a great disc
I can imagine the guys at the MVP warehouse: "He wants an overmold on WHAT now?!!"
Could you add a tracking device for your discs? They're almost impossible to see in the air 😅 also, thank you so much for the amazing content you provide us with!
At some point his tourney winnings have to afford him a better camera than a phone 😂
Stop watching the videos on your phone in the bathroom lol
Simon using his parental leave for his personal leave is priceless… love it
It’s my dream to be shot of the day, cause that would mean after 15+ years I would have filmed my first ace.
I think they have a round press cutter for offcuts, which they used to cut off the outer part of the rim. Then they just trim it with edge trimmer/profiler and overmold as usual.
MORE BEN!!!

Fantastic video! Thanks for the deep dive research simon!
Chad should bust out the Resistor-TeeBird next time you’re at HQ 😂

The fact that they overmolded the glow ash stamp is amazing to me. All hail the king! And I’d even go so far as to say that it is, in fact, groovy.
I'm assuming these aren't gonna be for sale??? If there are though where's the link I wanna grab some! Those are super cool!!
Simon is one of the most happy go lucky guys in disc golf. Glad to see him out enjoying himself.
That evil dead stamp is the best
Have MvP put the most overstable rim on the most understable disc.
put an energy rim on a DGA sail!
paradox +proxy =pardoxy
I’ll save you the wonder, the rim is far more important than the flight plate. For the most part, any franken-disc (plastics used aside) will fly pretty much like the rim.
Simon: Before I sign on for Team MVP I still get to do bananas crazy stuff I want to? MVP: YES PLEASE!!!! JUS HAVE FUN!😅
These frankenstein discs are so cool. I used to throw a tl3. I love my crave. A star crave would be fun to play with.
Stark rave? sounds fun!
Innova TL and the Crave are very similar in dimensions. It makes sense they have similar flight.
Diameter: both are 21.1cm
Rim Height: TL-1.6 cm & Crave- 1.4 cm
Rim depth: both are 1.2 cm

Inside rim depth: Crave 17.4
The crave rim shoulda been the TLC
I literally thought about these discs 2 days ago, and now you are throwing them. This world is weird 😂
Finish the Round Simon!!!
so what im thinking, is this provides a great opportunity to possibly reuse discs. if the rim gets too beaten in, perhaps you can send discs back to get a regrind and an overmold, potentially reducing the overall footprint behind each disc.
Time breaker is the coolest name for a disc ever
Great seeing you two on the course- and yes, it was wet those last 5 holes....
The round was as stitched together as the Frankendiscs. It wasn't always pretty, but it lit a torch under you. RAIN BAD! SIMON GOOD!
Can’t wait for you put together a battle of the 3 robots out there… it would be epic
I’ve got an idea for you! Go to a relatively simple 300 foot hole, and see how many times out of 10 you can birdie that hole. How many times you can consistently birdie a hole… or 18! Awesome video!
It’s only a matter of time just like breweries doing collaborations. Just wait and see Disc companies doing collaborations will be pretty sweet
Dude I would love to see MVP do some collabs with other brands and actually sell overmold versions of their discs.
How long parental leave do you get? Just curious as how things are in other countries : ) We get either 49 weeks with 100 % pay, or 59 weeks with 80 % pay. The mother can choose to use up to 12 weeks of the parental leave before the childbirth as well.
I'm thinking that he meant he had a few hours off from being at home.
i like this science experiment.
The only time I’ve played Meadow Brook Orchard it rained. It’s not a lot of fun. Especially those last few open holes. Nowhere to run or hide 😊
Have you done a video of how much the overmolded discs are different from their two counterparts? I'd love to see how the time breaker matches up against a cloud breaker and a time lapse. It's interesting to see
Oh my gosh, Buzzz with a Hex rim sounds amazing. I wish I could try it haha.
You guys, I was there when he teed off to start the video and I can't begin to tell you guys how far that disc went. It was amazing!
Woohoo! Simon Video!!
always fun to watch such a good natured and talented Simon
A better name for the Bex would be Bumbledore🐝🧙🏻
Excited to see you at Preserve skins on thursday!
I want to see a vid where MVP does the same for Eagle, and then Simon and Eagle square off with their separate Franken-discs. Hmmm, now that I think about it, do the same with James, although I don't know what he used to throw with Innova.
I think they use a CNC to cut the discs?
Simon!!!
Ben was funny 👍
So glad you joined MVP, this content is gold 🤌
It would be super cool to see Simon battle other pros with their signature discs and Simon with overmold variants
Curious how this could affect your actual game. Other players are probably dialing in their discs. You are somewhat new to MVP and playing with weird discs. Aluminum discs ect. Ect. Flew just like a crave. I prefer the relay for backhand full tilt hyzer turnovers. Same angle and flight with dx thunderbirds 40 more feet
TL is my favorite disc, would love to throw the crave overmold someday!
Let’s go Jake shot of the day @ birch park!
Shot of the day - hole 16 Birch Park! I got my first ace on that hole recently. Straight skip ace.
The buzz/ hex not being called the honeycomb is a missed opportunity
how can we buy that jersey
I want that Buzzz so badly!
YES! Becks is the best!
I've loved axiom about 2 year's be Simon signed thanks to my random purchase of a pyro that I still have and my favorite disc. It's blurple never had a stamp. Flys like a super glidey pig now
Why os the masters fpo40 semi finals not anywhere to be seen?
The fluid motion you have makes it look effortless..
Am i wrong or did u play hole 16 only with 4 strokes
One of the most underrated discs is the TL. What’s a man got to do to get that TL
Simon questions why MVP would get the technology to do overmolds on competitor discs. To get you to sign, Simon. They want you that much.
Wow - this makes the Buzz almost as good as the Hex! 🤣
I mean the upshot on hole 3 was purely the beautiful interpretation of the greatest actor dead or alive…. Mr. Bruce Campbell that was stamped on the disc.
YES!! FINALLY!! 😂
I NEED A STAR TL SIMON... PLEASE!!! haha
As a dude that owns that run of glow buzzz AND the halloween hex... they feel shockingly similar.
I want a Star Crave! Hand it over Simon. You have piles and piles of disc!
Bux $$ came to mind when yall said bex
Should be “Bux” … or that was my thought - ha ha ha.
If the Bex is double illegal you may already be on double secret probation.
Simon using an illegal disc during a flex start c tier 😂😂
Get them to make a double overmold, where its like a full regular putter like a proxy and then you put a dimension rim on it or something crazy like that
They can't just do anything on anything, the discs have to have the same thickness where the rim meets up, he discusses this in the video where the discs are first introduced.
Crave gene dominant?
Fun vid!
My second child was born almost earlier this year. You seem to be handling fatherhood well.
