    This shows how much strategy plays a part in being a champ. It is not just throwing far or putting great.
    You have to know your discs and plan a strategy for every hole.
    "Boring" golf, as Simon said here, pays off in the long run.
    Now (Summer 2022) Simon has started to play "boring" golf because of his injury and he has started to play much better, already winning one tournament and leading the current one.

      If you take away the strategic concern of likely blowing past the basket by 150', it's really crazy that their accuracy at 300' is not far off from what they can do at like 100'.

    • @Superfizzo
      @Superfizzo 3 года назад +1

      Yeah every time I'm like "I'm gonna ace run this" it looks like every other shot I shoot. Everytime they try it they're dang near hitting the basket. Or they hit it and then sink an ace back to back. Ridiculous.

    This is such a legendary video for so many reasons. First of all the banter and the many nice shots (Paul's putt on 1(!) and the ace and super close ace-run on the final hole (!!!)). But mainly, I feel that this training round really had a positive impact on Simon's career as a disc golfer, I truly feel that he did learn quite a bit from doing this video, which is nice to see! Not many disc golf videos are of this quality in terms of content!

    Having watched Simon have a year of success throwing his PD on that slight flex line, feels like that shot at 10:00, where Simon suggests throwing a stupid, low odds shot rather that a repeatable, high odds shot might have genuinely changed his game.
    The way he throws that PD2 is exactly how he was throwing that PD all through 2022
