Haha, so happy you enjoyed it so much.
Huntsville, AL...one small city...one giant leap for Swing Dancing!
Sam and I love it! (Did anyone besides me start quoting lines from Elf when "Pennies from Heaven" started playing....) haha. "Santa! I know him!"
Thank you for the Sam and Greg's Pizza!
We did this in response to a challenge made by I Charleston the World back in 2010. The group did their own video in France and challenged other scenes to do the same. After Nashville did theirs a few months ago (youtube I Charleston Nashville, its awesome) a few in our group decided it was time to step up and there you have it. Aside from just looking great, this and other videos in the I Charleston series are an excellent way to demonstrate what we do and grow our swing dance community!
I feel like a bad Nashvillian for saying this, but this video is even better than I Charleston Nashville, and that's saying something! While ICN had some amazing dancers, choreography, and videography, this phenomenal video just knocks all the others out of the water...it's just pure brilliance! I mean, where else on RUclips can you find the Charleston, an astrodog, umbrellas, and a moon landing all in one video? That's what I thought.
Best I Charleston the World video EVER! Period.
Rock on, Huntsville!!!
This turned out great. I love my scene. :D
I'm basically going to watch this whenever I get down and/or homesick. :)
Would like to point the old man in the lab coat was in his 90's when doing this video and was an actual rocket scientist whom worked under Werner Von Braun to help put us on the Moon. I love Huntsville.
Hoping to see dancing on the streets when I visit Huntsville next month....
This is fantastic! Great job and way to showcase the best of our city.
Keep up the awesome dancing to showcase Huntsville
Cool vid. Good to see old friends dancing away.
So cute. Fantastic job. Love it.
This video is great! Great job Derek!
So much fun!
LOVE THIS! Well done people!
After posting this video, a friend of mine commented: What a great video! What was behind the production, is it a promotion for the City of Huntsville? I really enjoyed this, I hope everyone who sees this passes it on, very slick, very cool! Thanks for posting it. Makes me want to take my next vacation in Huntsville!
Awesome job!
Great job!
Great work!
Awesome video! Andrew, can you make it rain pennies from heaven when I visit Nashville for Thanksgiving?
Great job!!!!
Absolutely brilliant!
That was very cool ... great job!
What an amazing swing video and perfect tribute to the city I love!
Ha Ha Derrick! Cool Video!
He who gets his name in the credits the most wins!
i like it! very creative!
I think you're right!
Hey, great job everyone. I actually saw myself at the 2:51, 3:09, 3:13 and 3:15 marks -- cool!
Unfortunately, there are many fantastic clips that didn't make the cut. I bet it was difficult to get it all cut to length. Hopefully the guys will release deleted scenes later on.
10k in 4 days!
Hahahaaa yes!
Visit the al.com website and search for 'I Charleston Huntsville' video shows off city in international challenge. There you will find a Huntsville Times article about the project. It explains everything.
It's always funny when there's one "thumbs down/dislike." Who are you?
OMG JESUS WINKS! 1:41
Where's the shot where we dance through the greenhouse at the botanical gardens? Did I miss it, or was that part deleted?
good job eh!
Just a couple of notes for our foreign viewers. 1) We don't actually launch rockets from here. The one in the video is just symbolic. We're known as "The Rocket City" because the rockets that got us in space / to the moon were designed and built here. 2) Those aren't US pennies in the videos, just copper disks. Real pennies would have been too small to really see.
We'll live today on WAAY-TV, channel 31! Tune into their 4 PM show. They'll be broadcasting from in front of Belks, at Parkway Palace mall.
Featured in the interview will be executive producers / choreographer Huy, and our very own rocket scientist Mr. Foster.
Space Cadet Carlos might even make an appearance.

There will be a production stills RUclips slideshow later, for now, there is my Flickr set flickr.com/photos/lizardspd/sets/72157635443520608/
2:46 - A Ren and Stimpy reference?? Haha!
I dropped my clipboard too.
Hello!
Can you please check access rights for the video? My friends from Russia can not see it due to "this video is not available" error.
Yeah, for some reason RUclips blocks it in some countries because of the music. :-(
Suggest to your Russian friend to get a VPN installed on his system and then set his source as someplace in the U.S.
:)
Just Google "swing dance" + the name of your city.
