The design at 09:30 is a problem. The inside frames need to span across the entire length or the bees will fill in with crazy comb and you will not be able to take the frames out for inspection.
We have had bee hives on our off-grid homestead for a while now and people who buy our honey always asked about these types of hives. I'm torn since I don't hear good things about their longevity. Some of our hive boxes have been in use for 8 years. I've heard these will only last a season or two because the combs get clogged or break as they are plastic. I'd still try one out if I got one for free but think I'll stick to my wooden boxes.
It may not be a branded FLOW HIVE, but for what I paid for my Flow Hive, I sure wish it would have been as easy to put together and didn't crack so much. I'm disgusted with how much I paid for what I looks like crap if you get too close to it and look at it. I just put together every single piece of a second hive set by myself and had not one bit of trouble with the $100 hive set up. Thank you, Temiel!
TEMIEL how does the honey from the lower chamber reach the upper chamber? It seems like both levels are separated them how does honey rrach the upper level from where it flows into the bottles?

3 years ago I guess you found out. Yes you need that to keep the queen from laying eggs in the flow frame. With that inplace you only get honey above and baby bees below.
His wire mesh is in the right place. It allows ventilation and stops creatures coming into the hive. You are referring to a queen excluder which is separate thing with bigger spacing
Great do most of the woodwork yourself. The hammer marks will come out when it gets wet. You should try a bigger hammer to increase the construction speed. Oh and the knots will probably fall out eliminating the need to cut entry holes.

@@ketrin.. Там специальная сетка ставится между двумя частями улья, чтобы матка не могла в верхнюю часть пролезть (рабочая пчела мельче матки и пролезает через эту сетку).

the workers bees have to bring it up, it works a bit like the traditional system, the only difference is the flow hive system

First mistake.....you put the clear acrylic on LAST after you paint the hive so you don't get paint on it. .
Nice, I guess you can buy the flow frames and make your own wooden box to have as many instead of the conventional 10 frames.
