    I view it as a cosmic horror movie. that she gets stuck in a reality where nothing weird happened so no one has any idea what she's talking about and is basically on a fast track to an insane asylum. This redundant doppelganger. In just a few minutes, she went from our hero to a villain ...simply for wanting a life that belongs to a better version of her. Definitely disturbing and brings up all kinds of really difficult questions. Bravo. You made one of the greatest movies ever with a budget smaller than that of 1 second of a Hollywood blockbuster

    This film is so good. I've watched it several times. I'm not one for sci-fi but this movie is so well done that I felt it could happen. It wasn't far fetched and the suspense and acting was very real. It felt like so many genres but not in a confusing way...it was brilliant! Plus the characters are relatable. I've recommended it to a few people. First time I watched it it stayed with me a long time. It leaves you thinking for sure. So many movies about multiple realities are overly removed from reality for me, and some don't delve into it enough. I love working out films, and I'd say I'm pretty good and intuitive but this one truly surprised me! Great gem that more people should know about!

    Just watched today and I found the film to be one of the most beautiful and honest reflections of the human condition I have ever experienced. Of course we all wonder of the what ifs! What if I took that job instead of doubting myself or having too much pride, drinking too much in one version, while the other you is a sober A list actor etc. That is a profound pain that I think everyone experiences because we all know that we don't really have a choice, but to try to change the reality we live in now. You don't get to swap out into another you's life without consequences. I think that people are a double edged sword. We are all flawed . in this reality and in other potential ones as well!

    Hey I just wanna say this film is amazing. I've seen it twice now and the second viewing was very very fun. The one question I always had and others seem to think: Are they all from different houses in the very beginning? Because for instance Laurie didn't remember Mike from the TV show he supposedly starred in for 4 years. And Beth loses connection on her phone on the way to the house. So the theory is that all of them drive through the black space on the way to dinner and are from different "houses".

    • @GhostFoxGoddess
      @GhostFoxGoddess Год назад +7

      it doesn't make sense that they were all from different houses in the beginning of the movie since "coherence" of timelines happened only on that particular night(if the parallel universe theory is true, diversions happen all the time but the different timelines could interact on that night only because of the comet). so if mike was really in that TV show, then all the Laurie-s that are stuck in the diversion will have watched the same Mike on TV just as every version of Mike had slept with Beth in the past.

I had never even heard of it, which shocking because this movie absolutely blew me away. It was also a story after my own heart (my first book, "Other Minds: 13 Tales of Wonder and Sorrow" plays a lot with the idea of encountering other selves, double selves, alternative lives, etc.) Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how much this movie resonated with me. i just finished the movie. and wow this is some of the greatest pieces of movies ive ever watched. it was so well done and it really made me get invested. it had just the perfect amount of horror and sci-fi and mystery to it which made me fall in love with the movie. and to find out there was no script and a small budget is just insane to me. i love the work you did on this, and it amazes me i just found out about this. bravo!

    This wasn’t my favorite movie thing ever, but to keep me captivated for the entire time when it was just in one place, your living room, shows amazing talent by your part and the actors. I’m definitely a fan of your work from now on.

    After having been on a mental list for ages i first watched the movie very recently, and we need more of this fun, creative stuff that defies initial expectancies completely and thinks out of the box. Somewhat ironically i think 'The Box' - 'Triangle' and 'Primer' are borderline masterpieces, all dealing with vaguely similar things. And now the 'Weeds' intro song is playing in my mind, help! - Will almost certainly support the new project :)

    I have seen this about 8 times or more. I really liked it and was fun to pay attention and miss a few things the first time and then pick up details watching again. Sober or not so much. 😁You see more than what seems to be there when you analyze outside the box on it. Thank you for making the movie, Jim.

    Just watched this again tonight and I liked it even more than the first time. It's like Inception for me. Inception is a movie that I still don't fully understand long after I've seen it, countless times at this point. Coherence has that same appeal to me now. I may never fully understand it as I watch it, but that will keep me revisiting it for years to come.

    Watched the movie the other day. Liked it but was confused about some things. Went to the internet and all the explanations were so complicated that they made it feel like it doesn't even matter who is who anyway. This explanation however is fairly simple and just works. Not every little detail should be studied in great depth to make sense of it.

    the thing i dont understand about this movie is when someone leaves the house and when they come to a whole different house but for some reason the new house is also missing the person who enters from a whole different dimension.(for example at first Amir and Hugh left the first house and when they enter the second house, that house was also missing that dimensions Hugh and Amir.)
    not just that one too, none of them meet with themselves while entering the second house

    • @jimbyrkit6384

      yep. Especially at the beginning, they haven't diverged that much, so often when someone leaves one house, they have also left another... so they don't see each other

I’ve ended in the best possible reality. The past is gone, I’m unscripted, and the wonders and beauty is all around us. Previously, I followed a script, currently, I make my life. Wonderful movie !

    Watched it with 2 of my friends recently and I can honestly say this will be a cult classic soon. Honestly the film is perfect in almost every way and I couldn't really find plot holes on the rewatch. Sad to know that it went so understated when it was released. Possibly the most somber lovecraftian film haha. Even better than something like Annihilation (I love that too)
