So from the details you give, this almost reminds me of Prelude. Prelude for me is a great matte clay bc its semi-easy to apply, just throw a few drops of water into your hand and it'll break the product down. Once in the hair, it almost sort of works like a gel pomade bc it does harden, and all i have to do if i want to re-style it through out the day is moisten my hands and its loose once again.
Definitely love the Layrite matte cream. I especially like that it doesn't contain either beeswax or lanolin because both are super fucking nasty and so many hair products have them. The matte cream uses carnauba wax instead.
ive been using this for awhile and i think im going to change it doesnt have a really good matte look it shines a bit or looks greasy, it doesnt give your hair that healthy matte look and chunks of hair stick together if left in or if you have thick hair i have to apply this product with wet damp hair, never tryed any other pomades or clays but prob try the new Layrite natural matte cream
Hey wats up James!! Loving the reviews man. I have a question I'm hoping you can answer. I was wondering if their is a pomade that I can use and have girls play with my hair? I was thinking of purchasing grandad's light oil based. I'm hoping you can give me some type of feedback. Thanks
I've used lockhearts goon grease lately and it provides hold but it is still able to be restyled easily by finger combing so I would say that goon grease would be great for what you're asking
Goon grease has one hell of a hold, I used to work in the desert 8+ hours a day. Temperatures were 120+ and the goon grease still held my hair. After a year of use got tired of an oil based, still looking for a good water based product
The Pomp King A full pomp looks goofy af. We aren't stuck in the 70's. This is sleek and modern. Whenever I see someone with full pomps they look like clowns.
I am just curios if this dries out you hair after a few uses? Cause my hair gets dry very easy and I am interested in this product but I don't want dry hair.
You straighten your hair or put other stuff on before you put this stuff on. I put the super hold on my hair and if doesn’t go in like it does with your hair. Doesn’t stay back. Still curly. Pretty disappointed.
I use this as a pre-styler before blow drying. Baxter is what I apply after my hair is completely dry, just to keep the mold in place. Layrite Natural Matte Cream is good in small amounts, not like this video.... -_- But a little bit goes a long way. Dime size of Layrite and half dime size of Baxter, I'm good for the gym and my work day. Even drive with the windows down and a quick swoop of the hair, i'm good again.
I bought this product after seeing your review. After less than a hour the hair look greasy and oily and the product doesn't hold anymore. It doesn't change if I apply with wet or dry hair. The smell it's also terribly annoying and strong. Disappointed.
@francois depotoir, If you look closely at his hairline, you can see the hairline is receding & thinning a bit--it could be possible that his hairline is maturing, and no further balding. Furthermore, I cannot determine if he's actually going to go bald without looking at his hair, and to see if he has miniaturized hairs.
Nice showcase. I decided to order this product for my long hair alternating between parted and slick back.
I'm using the cream as prestyler and finish it off with Bexter Clay Pomade
👌

James have you tried the imperal matte paste, if you have what do you thing of it?
After it's all set in, how does it when you run your hands through your hair? ( i.e. Is it sticky?)
No it’s not sticky I can run my hands through my hair fine
Do you have to rinse it off at the end of the day? bad for the hair to sleep with it

Thanks for making this video 👌
you shouldn't part your hair too much have u tried a full pomp?

Jonathan You sound like the clown. The Pomp King asked a valid question.
Pluvius V He asked a question and I answered. By the way, you usually want to read comments and fully comprehend them before you reply.
Jonathan Haha, what a clown.

doesn't dry out my hair. remains malleable

Hey. Hair 14cm long, when styled back, is this cream okay?
It's light, so maybe not if you're trying to get a slicker look

@@FashoJethro what baxter do you use in conjunction with this? I need something good for style even once I get sweaty. That doesn't clump up

It doesn't change if I apply with wet or dry hair.

The dryer the hair the stronger the hold. This product is water soluble, so if the hair is wet, it won’t hold as much
Good for Thin hair?
Really depends on what you tryna do
is this like teddy boys original?
superandieez this isn't really a pomade so I wouldn't say so
look how polite you are to everyone else
