Frost fang (dlc) + kaboomstick with melee expert/ammo vest is so good. Really great against both scrakes (frost fang) and fleshpounds (kaboomstick) If your team needs healing you can replace one of them with the hemoclobber but you'll be weak against one of the big guys
My favorite loadout so far has been Kaboomstick and... Crossbow! Surprisingly enough I find it compliments the kaboomstick by putting the hurt and stun on long ranged targets and being ammo efficient if you can collect the bolts. That extra reload speed really helps.
Given the statement about the RPG one-shotting Fleshpounds on high difficulties I'm going to assume the loadouts are based on a solo perspective - as someone almost always playing in 6 player Suicidal games though, my biggest hurdle to enjoying Survivalist is finding a decent answer to Fleshpounds. There's a multitude of options for dealing with Scrakes and Quarterpounds, but the methods available to other classes for reliably soloing Fleshpounds even through their drastically increased health in multiplier (AA12, Deagles, M99, Doomstick, RPG, Helios Rifle, ETC) just don't work for the Survivalist due to lacking the necessary perk skills and damage buffs. I'm already almost always running the Frostfang (incredible on Survivalist) for its ludicrous power against Scrakes and decent performance against Quarterpounds and medium Zeds, while offering a parry and triggering the movement speed on Melee Expert. I've found it can quickly solo a 6p Fleshpound IF I can freeze it without enraging it, which I can semi-consistently do by timing a couple shots as it's lunging at me in close range. That said, it's terrible once they're enraged, and getting that close to pull it off isn't always super practical either. Plus the Frostfang's ammo is already going towards dealing with a wide array of other enemies. Besides that though... all I've found so far is an upgraded Rail Gun, which is an enormous Dosh and weight investment and, while consistent (only after upgrading), still isn't that quick and is easily disrupted by any trash in the area. My experience with the game is still somewhat limited, and there are a couple perks and a multitude of weapons I've barely or never used at all. Suggestions from anyone who's overcome this situation would be thoroughly appreciated.
Try shooting their metal gloves it doesnt seem to do much (maybe any?) damage to them so they don't get pissed but it still counts towards freezing them
I would recommend trying out each of the weapons and see what you like and then make a few different loadouts that you can play without having to think about. Like a Medic setup, a big Zed killer setup, and a Tank Setup. That way you can help out the team, no matter what they need. Survivalist is probably the hardest class to play for the team because it is going to take a lot of game knowledge and it will become easier with time. Although if you get really comfortable with Survivalist it should be pretty easy to switch to any of the other classes.
I was a purist for a long time, refused to play survivalist and even use DLC weapons.. Boy, did I make the game harder on myself. The frostfang is a beast on survivalist. Used with the HRG Winterbites and you can freeze everything. The DLC weaps pack way more punch and in a full party adds a lot of utility. One weapon I think gets slept on is mac10 for the DoT burn damage, comes in handy for open maps. Should mention that survivalist is pretty broken. It seems to inherit some traits from other classes that aren't mentioned.
ive been playing survivalist lately and have found out that the HRG Locust is absolutely busted, and can be used with most other weapons if you run Weapon Harness
Honestly, I run my survivalist build around long range and close quarters if necessary. Weapons: Compound Bow, M4 Combat Shotgun and the Ion Thruster Skills-wise I run Heavy Weapons Training, Melee Expert, Weapon Harness, Spontaneous Zeds-plosion and I run for my Zedtime skill Madman.
I don't know, I just have a bad habit of choosing make things go boom because I hate dealing with boom. Usually for weapons however the ion thruster and RPG have always been my go to, slash stuff up close and one shot scrakes and fleshpounds from afar but I will say that gravity imploder was fun to use although slow for fire rate. Might sound strange but I enjoyed gravity imploder more than the blunderbuss I guess because more shots per mag and you can pull zeds together then blow them up. Survivalist flexibility is the best, gives you more toys to try out lol
Ya, Survivalist has a ton of options. The gravity imploder is a very fun weapon to use, but I don't think that I have used it with Survivalist yet. I might have to try that.
@@ReapeeRon I like trying out different guns in between waves to see if I like the one I bought or if I don't end up liking that particular one then sell it back and try the next. Support weapons and the support perk however I feel is second worst when playing solo with commando being first. Just felt like with support I wasn't doing much damage or I was missing half my shots mainly with the doom shotgun, that gun is highly inaccurate. With swat however I was tearing through stuff whether small or big with the Kriss smg at level 23 on wave 40 ish on hard difficulty
@@ReapeeRon I love running katana with spontanious zedsplosion. It procs so often that you can throw a healing grenade down and become a one man meat grinder without dying. the only weakness to this is fleshpounds, but with a good team that doesn't usually matter.
Does the alt fire from the Arc Generator have infinite penetration power and pass through all Zeds? How do you still have good hipfire aim with the .500 magnums in Survivalist without the Quick Draw skill from Gunslinger? When I do this, the recoil just make my shots fly all over the place.
Yes, the alt fire from the Arc generator will pass through all enemies and only stop on the environment. For the .500s, I usually wait for a half second in between shots. That helps me keep them on target.

Yeah a good combo I run sometimes
The frostfang is pretty top tier for Survivalist in my opinion.
Those are good weapons, my build is eviscerator + kaboomstick + hemoclobber, try it you want

Sounds good to me, both are pretty strong.
You got the right idea Ron, this perk is OP. Locust for most enemies with the SPX Centerfire for Scrakes and you are virtually unstoppable.
Yeah Survivalist is pretty crazy!
I've been loving the Frost Fang with the Mosin Nagant. Loads of fun.
They are both really good!
The kaboom stick + the Mosin Nagant is one of my favorite loadouts
Try eviscerator + kaboomstick + hemoclobber
That's a lot of fun to play too!
AA-12 + RPG is my fave by far. Can run out of ammo if not careful though
That one is really fun to use.
My Favourite

I’ve been using crossbow/railgun a lot on Survivalist lately and occasionally use the M99. It just can’t get it to work for me like I need it to.
The M99 can be a bit hard to make room for.
Some Loadouts :
Hrg locust
Medic Missle
Kaboomstick
Medic Missle
Aa12
c4 for boss waves :) Hello Patriarch ;)
Few more :
HRG Medic Missile
ZED MKIII
Sentinel
HRG Medic Missile
Frost fang
C4
I also prefer the Stun grenade from Swat. very helpful on Endless

despite having no reload bonus on 2 of the 3 weapons, i almost exclusively use the killerwatt, helios rifle, and hx25
Cool!
@@ReapeeRon very good loadout despite a slow reload, i personally recommend it

What i have been doing is centerfire+hemoglobber. Not the best, centerfire tends to run dry pretty quick but for the most part it gets the job done
Great guide for new player like me btw what's rhe map name pls?
Thanks. I think the map is called moon raker.
I like my fully upgraded M16 and M99 together.
Even better if it's endless mode
Yeah that works.
Now you can run the Sentinel with the new G36 and hold chokepoints as good as Commandos
Yeah you can do that. I would argue that Survivalist could do it even better then Commando.

Ya!
I use the M4 and the new Locust rocket
Awesome!
Hmtech grenade rifle and rpg with sentinel to survive 👌

Not arguing with you but why you think .50 cal best on survivalist??
You get the weapon harness so you have 8 more weight and still have fast reloads.
@@ReapeeRon gotcha thanks for reply
Sorry if my question is stupid but, what's the name of this map ? I never found it ...
That is a custom map. I think that it is called moonbase, it is in the steam workshop.
@@ReapeeRon I'll have to learn how to use the steam workshop, but thank you very much ! =)
Arc generator + Hemogoblin? Debuff/bleed and Tesla ball the boss lol and adds are whatever.
Yeah you can run that. I have seen people running Hemogoblin with Survivalist it's probably one of the best Medic weapon to use with Survivalist.
Centerfire and rpg omg easy mode
That is pretty strong.
What map is that that he is on?????
It's a custom one called water on mars I think.
GOOD
