A thing you missed: The Killerwatt (as of 3/9/2019) is unaffected by either reload skill; It will always reload at the same speed (excluding the Zed Time reload bonus). Both of Survivalist's current weapons resemble the original Zed guns from the first game, albeit with their roles somewhat swapped and altered.
@@KadiusFTW I really want those. Though I think the Helios Rifle is like a spiritual successor to the the ZEDs since it's a plasma rifle like them, only it's the fiery sort.
I think something that could really help survivalist would be a swap speed passive, they're meant to be a jack of all trades when it comes to weaponry, but their lack of useful damage bonuses requires the use of the slow handling, heavy hitter weaponry like the railgun and shotguns or HM-Tech 501. A passive weapon swap speed of 2% per level to end up with 50% at 25 would put them in line with lower level commando/swat/gunslinger.
Survivalist was my first perk to get to level 25. I will admit it's not the greatest in team play, but it's really damn tanky on solo, and honestly worth playing for that alone.
I always play Solo, so I got my good fix on the Perk, all before these buffs. I play on console, so I don't have access to the Beta. It's the second perk I got to Prestige 3 (first being Medic, my main) since I mainly did it to get that sweet Thompson Prestige skin before the Christmas Update dropped.
Fr one thing that survivalist has over all the other perks is it is the only perk that can be a great trash killer and a great big zed killer at once. Which is very important on solo
Yeh me to. I perked survivalist pretty fast. And I don't play online on the game but its pretty flexible and had some pretty powerful weapons. The start out could be aby of the other perk weapons but the peeks weapons for the survivalist are pretty good.
One combo that always works for me is the medic grenades skills and healing oriented ones + medic assault rifle + akimbo 500s, good for helping with trash, large zeds and healing the team. Great video!
A few of my Survivalist builds AMR/M4, max upgrades AMR/M16-M203, max upgrades Railgun/AA12, Railgun upgraded Heavy Weapons Training, Medic Training, Weapon Harness, Zed-splosion, Madman I like having a dedicated heavy hitter and trash cleaner.
I also like "The Flexible Moneysink" build of M99 + tier 5 M16M203 with RLRLL skills. Tier 5 M16 is good for general purpose, M99 needs no explanations, and also - if you're thinking about a medpistol, then you can just have tier 4 M16 and medpistol with one upgrade. You can also try out "Demo wannabe" build that consists of tier 5 RPG and T5 Seeker Six OR M32 instead of Seeker Six. With tier 5 RPG and M32 you can also get medpistol.
@@katytis2012 I tried Demo Wannabe once... got kicked. 😅 "Flexible Moneysink"? I like it! I always called it "Heavy Survivalist" because of the Heavy Weapons Training... not-so-creative-name, hoo!
Too expensive in normal games. I usually just use M79 for 650 dash early trash mob cleaner and then buy Railgun and for some reason, I have most total kills and most big zed kills in every game. I thought they said specialized classes were better.
@@DethMetalDurgn But my personal favorite is definitely AA12 + tier 5 RPG. RLRLL of course. Killerwatt's supercharge function is hella good! 🔥
i think they should make the reload speed bonus on the level 1 perk tree baseline for all weapons and replace the reload speed with 10% additional damage
That's a really good recommendation. 15%+10% increase damage at Level 25 sounds good and can even go toe to toe with damage perks. Though 12% or 15% sounds better
With these current buffs said to be "bandaid" buffs, that means Tripwire might be giving this perk an overall rework in the future. Still though, what they did here was a step in the right direction!
I myself am a Survivalist main, and have helped so many randoms, as well as my friends who are new to the game using my max Survivalist, with my go-to weapon setup being a Supportive Assault using the Killerwatt and RPG as well as the Medic Pistol for healing
I love the survivalist with the medic nade launcher and "zeds go boom". With faster commando reload you can literally lay down a healing carpet if shit hits the fan. Also great for killing zeds behind welded doors, arguably even better than the medic himself. I normally go hmtech-501 and depending on the healing we have I get another medic weapon or the m16 with grenade launcher or something along those lines.
I was eagerly waiting for this Perk Guide, and it's good to see new stuff, some loadouts I've never tried! Yet I must say it is a little underwhelming, talking about an all-around perk, yet with so limited weapon varieties. Was expecting different stuff like Pulverizer with "things go boom', M16 Assault Rifle with RPG, or even some weapons to use more often or to avoid (I've heard that people avoid Gunslinger or many commando weapons due high recoil, for example.) Wonderful video, but wanted to see more information.
The left side of the skill tree are for team work and the right side are for solo or for the own benefit. Do combo nation of the right and left example: demo reloud faster ,hit damage, imun to sirens scream, nokt down power, nuke, Right, left, left, right, left.
As a new player (got it for free on epic), I have really enjoyed playing this class, I tend to buy the weapons to cover whatever my friends are having a hard time covering, as well as being the bootleg medic when we go full noob and get separated in groups.
I love survivalist. He isnt the best at specific roles, we all know that. But being able to use the Boomstick and M79 rapidly is really a ton of fun, and fairly effective. Then M4 plus RPG while still healing is icing on the cake.
In the right hands this perk is dangerous for bosses. Speed and health are king especially against bosses, survivalist has both (melee speed and healing grenade) meaning on suicidal you can use demo/support weapons and not be the first to die, damage bonuses lost are negligible. But I would prefer a greater selection of perks, some aren't great. It should also have toxic resistance and slightly better globe resistance being the name of the park.
I recommend going with the Killerwatt in all survivalist builds because the charge beam is absolutely DEVASTATING. I’m able to take out full groups of Scrakes and/or Fleshpounds in quick succession. Plus, it’s a FANTASTIC weapon to use against The Patriarch, since he won’t be able to run away from the beam in time.
Awesome, i personally have the survivalist as my fav perk because it plays how i like to play, back in KF 1 i found it common to use off perk weapons (particularly for demo and support which i played the most) so it reminds me of that and a small part of me is still waiting for the Z.E.D gun from KF1. I usually used the AA12 and RPG which was just hilarious and FUN, while playing other classes becomes bland because usually it becomes same weapons and perk every time. Don't get me wrong i understand it is not as strong as the other classes, but i normally play with friends who play what they like and survivalist allows me to round off a list and support everyone.
I like running as a combat medic with survivalist, because they do get a decent medic bump, and unlike the medic they get damage buffing towards medic weapons. Slightly less tanky than the medic, but also slightly more personal damage. Heavy armor is a nice offset
Good to hear the Survivalist buffs are going well. I do like the idea of a generalist perk as it reminds me the days of KF1 where people would experiment having off-perk weapons on themselves. (Medic + Crossbow anyone? ;P) Of course, in a game where a lot of min-maxing is required, it can be hard to balance a jack-of-all-trades perk to be viable and yet not OP. At least Tripwire is showing everyone how it can be done. Not to mention the generalized damage reduction + heavy armor is a really nice combination. (It is the _Survivalist_ after all.) Edit: I'm a moron. Sorry for saying the wrong company's name.
People still do use off-perk weapons, though. The theoretical best loadout for Demo is RPG, C4, and a Deagle. Medic used to take dual deagles or the freezethrower alongside the medic AR before the upgrade system and the 501 came out, and I still see it sometimes. I think some zerks took deagle to kill husks before the vlad got buffed or something. Deagles were too good at one point.
@@Lyoko1309 - I never said people don't do that still. The handguns have low weight with great firepower for a reason. Not to mention that everyone and their mother brings a Medic Pistol.
Too late for me to mention, since video was uploaded three years ago, but one of the best things in survivalist perk that if you have an armor, you can take health damage only from siren attacks, which is very helpful most of the time, especially if you want to outlast majority/half of the wave without pulling out syringe so often. Plus, syringe recharge is good also, it lets you to regain more health per minute in a tought situations once your armor got depleted
This was a more straightforward explanation of the perk without ragging on it for not being very strong or having an identity. But the whole point behind it is to be able to take on multiple roles and use multiple weapons at the same time, while gaining any bonuses you may not have with a specialized perk. Survivalist with the new buffs is now in a good spot, and allows even MORE playstyles with the perk. I'm having lots of fun using melee weapons in solo play, and by using tactical reload I'm able to use weapons like the Winchester and Centerfire at the same time using one of the medic ARs. It's just a solid perk that isn't too powerful nor too weak. So go out there and use an Evicerator combined with a Seeker 6. Ain't no other perk gonna do that.
Solid vid. Though I find the killerwatt to be very useful and very versatile. The electricity will calm scrakes when they run at you, sometimes. The primary fire is excellent for trash zed killing & the alternate fire makes for a great big zed killer or even if you have a big horde after you grouped up. Yeah it's very situational but in the situations it comes in handy it comes in very, very handy. That's just me though.
I kinda wish they had a perk that buffed alt fires specifically. Maybe so that an alt fire would do as much damage as a alt fire from the specialized class that uses that weapon but not regular fire.
I've played Survivalist for a while, and I always seem to gravitate towards the underslung grenade launcher rifle. (IF there is one complaint to be laid at the feet of American military assault rifles it's that it can get damn hard to keep them apart sometimes.) It gets a reload bonus from either of the first perks, so if you're a heavy weapons trainee, you can get an assault rifle that feeds into your perks. I haven't experimented with the FAL enough to see if that's worth it, but I do know that the Survivalist is probably the best class to use that rifle since it, in a way, is the generalist weapon for the generalist class.
I am kind of a money vacuum as survivalist, but I always use healing grenades and once I get my heavy killer (usually the killerwatt) and a secondary custodian weapon around round 5 in medium length, I never need anything i earn so i just throw it at people. Using the flexible traits to properly change your style to fit the situation and your team is the way it's supposed to be used, a play on the whole "survivors know how to adapt" saying.
M79 upgraded with the 40 % increased radius is pretty crazy... I usually don't have dosh for a 3rd upgrade but twice is plenty. Hemoclobber is also sick with zedsplosion.
im playing as a survivalist mostly and im using the combo of med shotgun, healing nades and rpg or m32 nade launcher.I saved my team quite a lot of times especially during boss fights.
Perfect for all around versatile play rolling together medic, swat, sharpshooter, demolitionist, and gunslinger. Mosin/M14 depending on if you have heavy hitting or trash killing teammates Medic smg Dual deagles M79 Grenade launcher Tactical reload, medic training, weapon harness, make things go boom, lock down.
This perk should have been given a flexible skill points system like RPG games, where the players can customize its stats based on their preferences; eg, movement speed over armor, weapon damage over agility etc. There should have been an option to choose a grenade type and the starting weapon as well
I never liked the Freezethrower, but the Killerwatt might be my new favourite weapon. Its primary shots are fantastic against weaker foes while the alt fire electric beam is godly at tearing down Scrakes and Fleshpounds with more generally efficiency than the primary fire.
I play on xbox. I played a lot of the original KF on PC. And I was immediately drawn to survivalist. First perk I used as well as reached lvl25 I think versatility out ways specialization. I use "bring the rain" load out myself. Other options I employ would be EBR, double barrel, and choice of trash weapon. As well as dual d-eagles and the m99 as a specialized big zed killer
I never use killerwatt for the assault rifle mode or even the emp effect. Yeah its nice with smaller zeds but my absolute favorite thing to do with the perk is to get a trash killing weapon which can be quite frankly anything with a buttload of ammo The reason for that is that I found killerwatt to be the highest dmg output for the class, making survivalist capable of dealing with scrakes solo no problem and deal quite significant dmg to a horde of fleshpounds on endless
I don't know... but a tier 4 RPG-7 with a HMTech-301 works really well for me, with skill of Ammo Vest at LV.15, I can provide a lot of heals to my teammates, also provide quite a bit of damage to big zeds with the RPG-7 at the same time. Ammo is a problem though, so I have to aim very accurately all the time, but it's fun!
I run m79/m32 with hmt shotgun Visa ve the incap trait and increased explosives range- amazing with trash and heal sustain w/ acceptable aid with pounds. Can even incap scrakes with zeds time, works well
Forget Specializing, I'm a one man army. xD My fav perks: Switching Tier one on the fly depending on weapon (or just tactical reload for my pistols if none of my weapons fit a class type that works) Melee Master (For killing all the weaker zeds AND movement speed! Speed is really important!) Weapon Harness (Can't go wrong with more weapon capacity! Plus molotov kicks ass.) and ZedSplosion. I mean come on, what are you gonna pick, the one that let's you chew through groups of zed with ease or a lame basic buff with ONE damage type? Haven't unlocked tier 5 yet but looking forward to it. :D
I like the shock trooper combo of M32 and AK-12. Sure not the best combination but fucking hell it´s fun to drown a hallway in shrapnel with the M32 and finish off any survivors with a few bursts from the AK. :D
i use survivalist when i want to use a specific set of weapons that are not in the same perk either for the purposes of emulating film and game characters from other franchises or based on other things like caliber, national origin or type of mechanism.
A simple and easy load out boomstick with the m7n also with the medic smg great for killing scarke and fleshpound while killing trash with the medic smg and while supporting your team the perk you'l use are heavy reload, medic training, ammo vest, zed-plosion and last perk I really don't know since I just prestige.
The best survivalist perks in kf2 are ones that increase movement speed and add health regen/damage resist. It is for this reason that Bezerker is the better survivalist class. I'd rather just carry whatever extra weapon in my backpocket and use melee weapons to outrun nearly everything and regenerating all the health I lost. The only thing that keeps up with you are scrakes and fleshpounds and they are easy as shit to parry. Yes survivalist will give you a speed boost with melee weapons, but are you seriously willing to make that compromise verses Bezerker?
my favourite personally RPG-7, hmtech submachine gun rifle and the hmtech grenade rifle Bad medics who dont heal and use the right side of the tree in public matches take notes, if you want to be a battle medic while taking out flesh pounds and clearing trash this is for you
@@RichardDangles Excellent! Also, just a question. Aren't the "Survivalist" only weapons kinda...bad because most other "class" weapons get boosts from their respective classes, but the survivalist's aren't dual class nor do they get much of a boost from survivalist themselves?
@@McJaggyJ Glad to hear the Pulverizer has a good use. May not be as effective in combat, but it can sure get a horde of enemies off of you with that explosive charge.
list of weapons that work with the perk: Berserker: Katana Commando: Scar, Fal, MkB Support: M4, Dragonsbreath Field Medic: Pistol, 401-AR, 501-AR Demolitionist: M16/M203, M32 Firebug: Helios Rifle Gunslinger: M1911, Deagle, S&W.500 Sharpshooter: Centerfire Survivalist: Killerwatt SWAT: MP5, MP7 Protip 1: Melee Expert and Ammo Vest are the better perks, they will help you and your team, use Weapon Harness only at bossfights. Protip 2: The M32 should only be used for bossfights and should be complimented with a proper backup, use the 501-AR only if the team lacks a healer and your healnades aint cutting it. Warning: The Fal and S&W.500 are hard to handle without proper perks, use at your own risk.
my hate for the Survivalist is rooted in the lack of innovation it brought with it... after Tripwire scraped the idea of the Martial Artist because they thought it would be too similar to the Berserker (which in my opinion was a valid point) they rushed the 10th and final perk to meet the deadline and gave us the boredom that is the Survivalist... Just tell us why the last perk was going to be delayed and give us something interesting... The Survivalist was and still is so blatantly lacking in innovation and is boldly reusing perks that the other specialized Perks already have rendering it boring and uninteresting... Personally i am a firm believer that Tripwire owes us the players an 11th perk to make up for the Survivalist and to prove to us that they still have the capability to come up with great ideas...

If they did have such a perk I would totally pack medic weapons with boom or doom stick.
Using the flexible traits to properly change your style to fit the situation and your team is the way it's supposed to be used, a play on the whole "survivors know how to adapt" saying.
did anyone notice the small "heh" at 6:07 or am I hearing things?
I thought I was hearing things too
So basically the Survivalist can wield any weapons out of all perk classes now that's badass
Awww hell yea a new RD video.
Perfect for all around versatile play rolling together medic, swat, sharpshooter, demolitionist, and gunslinger.
Mosin/M14 depending on if you have heavy hitting or trash killing teammates
Medic smg
Dual deagles
M79 Grenade launcher
Tactical reload, medic training, weapon harness, make things go boom, lock down.
Yeah its nice with smaller zeds but my absolute favorite thing to do with the perk is to get a trash killing weapon which can be quite frankly anything with a buttload of ammo
The reason for that is that I found killerwatt to be the highest dmg output for the class, making survivalist capable of dealing with scrakes solo no problem and deal quite significant dmg to a horde of fleshpounds on endless
Can even incap scrakes with zeds time, works well
Ive been waiting for 7 years....... finally
Forget Specializing, I'm a one man army. xD
My fav perks: Switching Tier one on the fly depending on weapon (or just tactical reload for my pistols if none of my weapons fit a class type that works) Melee Master (For killing all the weaker zeds AND movement speed!
Here is an idea, give us movement speed WITH GUNS???? That would be a new and unique idea!
as a survivalist, i use the helios rifle, killerwatt, and the grenade rifle
You don't use crosshairs? That's some crazy point fire you have!
my favourite personally
RPG-7, hmtech submachine gun rifle and the hmtech grenade rifle
Bad medics who dont heal and use the right side of the tree in public matches take notes, if you want to be a battle medic while taking out flesh pounds and clearing trash this is for you
Upgraded eviscerator and railgun. The movement speed and raw damage output negates the need for heals, as there is never anything alive to damage you.
5:44 .....aaaaaaaand with HRG Incision this is obsolete.
I enjoyed fast welding partners behind locked doors ;)
Will you do patch note reviews after this? as addendums to your perk guides as they may change with updates?
You forgot to mention that the killerwatt secondary function doesnt give you exp.
Does spontaneous zed-splosion's explosions damage you or teammates?
Nope!
@@RichardDangles Excellent! Also, just a question. Aren't the "Survivalist" only weapons kinda...bad because most other "class" weapons get boosts from their respective classes, but the survivalist's aren't dual class nor do they get much of a boost from survivalist themselves?
How about medic shotgun/rpg with Medic Training,Ammo Vest? cant upgrade anything though only 15 weight :(
What is the of the map where you test your weapon against the zed?
Guys whats the opening song and how did you get the green dot/crosshair
Take a shot everytime he says tier-5 railgun
My favorite perk
Would you recommend the railgun or the hrg incision?
it seems like it could be fun to combo a melee build with zed splosion some how, plus how about replacing heavy armor with just 25 to 30 bonus health?
One issue with survivalist is the fact that crossperk weapons are a thing and add more flex to most clssses. med grenades on commando is mental.
Whats that crosshair dot in the middle? Is it some sort of mod?
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1623217467
I feel like that removes the reward of hitting a hip fire headshot.
@@Mockedarchie Don't use it then?
Crosshairs are for pussies
Damn you got owned.
i always go for killerwatt, helios rifle, and 501 healing rifle
Bad Loadout
@@adwans1491 it works for me tho
My favorite combo weapon is
No Corners:
AA12
Dual Desert Eagle
Pulverized
Big Attack:
Doomstick
Scar-H
Dual Desert Eagle
You sure about using the Pulverizer?
Rose Supreme only if you are cornered by small zeds or a flesh pound
@@McJaggyJ Yeah, only that moment. Which I don't think happens often. Only if you stray from the team.
Rose Supreme then it should be good for me cause a bunch of bull crap keeps happening
@@McJaggyJ Glad to hear the Pulverizer has a good use. May not be as effective in combat, but it can sure get a horde of enemies off of you with that explosive charge.
how do you make your crosshair into a dot?
That rail gun it's amazing I need it I only have prestige railgun
What is that purple laser-ish rifle you're carrying? Is it a skin or a new weapon?
If you are talking about the gun with what loooks like spirals all around the barrel, that's the Killer Watt. A new weapon.
@@crunchbite0108 Thank yee Gentleman
How did you get that dot crosshair?
I have the same question..
@@ZeRo_Coins ingame options?
How did you get the dot sign for the aiming target?
How do i get the lil dot crosshair
Has the perk become more viable as opposed to 2 years ago?
how did you get the dot crosshair?
I just use melee expert to get places quicker
might be a dumb question, but how did you made a dot instead of cross-hair?
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1623217467
thank you
So he uses Zedguns?
I thought survivalist was going to be a tank
The surivalist should get a rework that yknow... makes them SURIVE instead of stupid small buffs for other class weps.
Where is the live?
Wait so the update is fully live on PC right now?
Yes
@@RichardDangles Did they say when it comes for Xbox?
Causing Pat brain damage since 2019.
Look how Tripwire has massacred this boy
Why you aim for the neck?
There is a odd hitbox between the head and torso
8:05 RIP Support
Yooo, what weapon skins are those that change color?!
RGB skins
basically you have spend a fuck ton of money, not worth it. I think they run for couple hundred dollars
i conform with regular neon skins tbh
I usually use the grenade launcher and the freez thrower.
Sounds funny
list of weapons that work with the perk:
Berserker: Katana
Commando: Scar, Fal, MkB
Support: M4, Dragonsbreath
Field Medic: Pistol, 401-AR, 501-AR
Demolitionist: M16/M203, M32
Firebug: Helios Rifle
Gunslinger: M1911, Deagle, S&W.500
Sharpshooter: Centerfire
Survivalist: Killerwatt
SWAT: MP5, MP7
Protip 1: Melee Expert and Ammo Vest are the better perks, they will help you and your team, use Weapon Harness only at bossfights.
Protip 2: The M32 should only be used for bossfights and should be complimented with a proper backup, use the 501-AR only if the team lacks a healer and your healnades aint cutting it.
Warning: The Fal and S&W.500 are hard to handle without proper perks, use at your own risk.
Every perk weapons work. Its the combo that matter. Example demo, amr sniper combo with C4 or RPG AND C4.
my hate for the Survivalist is rooted in the lack of innovation it brought with it... after Tripwire scraped the idea of the Martial Artist because they thought it would be too similar to the Berserker (which in my opinion was a valid point) they rushed the 10th and final perk to meet the deadline and gave us the boredom that is the Survivalist...
What's the alt-fire button on xbox one?
