i just discovered your channel, i cant believe theres someone that actively plays kf2 AND drg, love both games and i hate that they are not as popular as they should :c
Even though people consider firebug one of the weaker classes, I still play it a lot. There's nothing more enjoyable than holding/tapping MB1 and just drinking/eating while all the trash just melts away. Dragon's Breath, Flamethrower and Huskcannon - 3 of my favourites.
They are considered one of the weakest and I don't think that they are. They are one of the easiest and most consist in the early waves, even on Hell On Earth. You don't have much to fear until FPs and Scrakes start showing up.
The Helios Rifle is like the only, or on e of the only Tier 5 weapons that actually feels like a tier 5 and not a tier 4. On solo especially at low difficulties it just DELETES the boss's healthbar right before your eyes. And then you can carry the flamethrower for a perfect loadout.
Firebug, currently one of the MOST flexible classes weapon builds wise it can Strike Big ZEDs with either Scorcher or Helios Rifle or be master of Trash clearing with Flamethrowers and most other weapons
I think the husk canon is a bit no brainer OP, u take like +100% ammo perk and just spam big rocket on everything then whipped the entire wave instant even scrake and flesh pound no skills required.
Me: Stands at one end of the teams flanks, just melting everything away with my Flamethrower. Fleshpound & Scrake: I'm about to end this man's whole career! Me: "Whips out 80 round Helios Rifle with Heat wave" No u!
Personally love to run it with dual Spitfires, Dragonsbreath and HRG Scorcher with an LRRLL build. The Spitfires free upgrade (in terms of weight) allows you to upgrade each once or max out the Scorcher or drop a couple into DB so good wiggle room there. It might seem more of a shooty over flamey loadout but the Scorcher and DB (imo) are incredibly capable of utilising Ground Fire. And for large Zeds the Scorcher is good as you can alt to slow their run and primary to inflict large damage. Just a fun loadout.
Spitfires not being good against big zeds is amusing to me. In KF 1 their equivalents (flare revolvers) were one of two firebug weapons that wasn't bad against big zeds haha. At least the flamethrower is still top tier, that hasn't changed. Such a beast, as a max level firebug in KF 1 you can just vaporize like 20 densely clumped up zeds by pointing it at them and holding down the fire button for 5-10 seconds.
Those weapons are still pretty good, I haven't played the first Killing Floor so I don't know how much different they are in that game compared to this one.
@@ReapeeRon Flare revolvers in KF 1 were easily S tier, arguably the best pistol weapons in the game. They did 100 impact damage per shot, then a small puff of fire that did an instant 25 fire damage and then up to 533 fire damage over a prolonged period of like 10 seconds. Adding to it is x1,5 headshot damage multiplier which is a bit better than normal. Then a max level firebug would multiply all of these damages by x1,6. Clots have like 130-200 hp depending on difficulty. They get instakilled with one shot most of the time. This + dual pistols = clump of small fry gets wiped. A full barrage of 12 shots (dual wield) from max level firebug is 2400 immediate damage ignoring the afterburn and assuming only body shots. A scrake has 2700 body hp on 3 player hard. So it's not super against big zeds but still pretty decent. Now they had a slower rate of fire (150 rpm single, 300 rpm dual) and more recoil than in KF 2 but still! Were pretty much the most powerful close range burst damage weapons for their weight of 4.
@@ReapeeRon The KF1 flare pistols are so good, that many people use them off perk before weapons could even be useful for more then 1 perk, that should say something.
I won't lie, I do like the Mac 10 a lot as a backup. Even if it's mostly to pop Scrake heads when running the Husk Cannon, which more or less melts like everything else. Starting to move over to the Scorcher as my backup though, as that's a particularly good backup tool.
Helios rifle is what i mostly use on bosses. But on wawes i switch it to microwave gun. It's good on late wawes when there's many scrakes and fleshpounds coming at you. It's great for defensive play style, knocking back any threat from you or your teammates.
My current idea is just flamethrower and hrg scorcher it melts trash snd mediums with groundfire and the main attack on the scorcher does pretty good against scrakes and fleshpounds
Using the Caulk n' Burn on early levels of Firebug almost made me hate the perk. Thankfully I gave Firebug another try down the line and realized how much better the perks got. My favorite loadout usually is the HRG Incendiary Rifle and the Flamethrower. Your point about the flamethrower upgrades may change how I upgrade it, if at all. I'm also curious about trying the spitfires now, never gave them a proper try.
love the firebug, so satisfisfying to play. Algo agree with almost all the list (i think caulk n burn is broken). One question daddy reapeeron, im having trouble editing videos, what program do u use for edit your videos?
Thanks Walalo! I use Sony Vegas Pro 18. If you are looking for something free though you could try out Davinci Resolve, I have only used it once or twice but I found it to be pretty useful.
Hey Ron do you know which weapons do ground fire? This is a bit of a confusing add on Seems cool, but I'm trying to decide if it's actually better than the barbecue perk since BBQ increases burn time for every weapon while ground fire increase is only for weapons that create ground fire.
Yes, almost all of Firebug's weapons can spawn ground fire including their molotovs. The only weapons that can't spawn ground fires are the Helios, and the Mac-10. The primary fire from the fire M16 and the primary fire from the HRG Sorcher also can not spawn ground fires but the secondary fire can. Usually ground fire is better because it kills all the small zeds very fast.
Something that I like to use is the dual spitfires and the husk cannon rather than the flametrower, just because I got the cannon earlier and the spitfires are good for zed control
This was the first perk i played as on HoE. Was lvl 12, just got my grounfire, took dragon breath. It were a dream come true , my killcount almoust explodes. Just shot in the ground with fire shrapnel and start counting. With shotgun i can shoot way further then with flamethrower. I killed as much as whole my team combined, 600+. Man, what a game...
If you're a FB that doesn't act like a comando or support, you can melt EVERYTHING with ease, even scrakes and FPs alike. I do it, so can you too. The microwave so low tier? Are you mad or you just don't like it?
@@ReapeeRon yeah that's fair. At the end of the day it is still a shotgun and shotguns are naturally powerful. But like you were saying, the added fire damage is pretty useful on fire bug. It's just that I have other weapons I would rather use for the firebug, but I mean that's just me haha
I’m absolutely terrible with this class; slow and no tank to it at all. I’ve made it to like level 13 or 14 and still die almost every wave. Same with Demo. Every other class I’ve gone through at least 1 prestige, those two are just sitting there barely past halfway on leveling 🤣
It’s just a new thing for me; I’m used to the Medal of Honor/Halo/Call of Duty style; headshots and precision, Demo and Firebug are very much specialist/generalist instead of one or the other.
Sincerely u need to change your minding, don't try to be a hero cause u will make it worst, know wich fight to take, from first wave to like the 7th all you need to do is focus on the small medium zeds that spawns around your team, if u see a flesh pound or a scrake get the fuck out don't stay near your team, clear the surrounding so your team don't get boxed while they take care of big zeds. it's a different playstyle, u there to support cleaning the trash mobs mostly and it is not a dishonorable job when you play suicidal or hell on earth difficulty, trust me, people love your service if u know what you are doing. If people notice that u are just enraging big zeds with fire, they won't help you get out of sticky situation, cause you are more troublemaker than helping your team... After that get an Helios and become a hero wave 9-10, if your team is full of sharpshooter or gunslinger, keep the trash cleaning ability, adapt to your team, cause your team won't adapt to you.
If you want to be more agressive with your flamethrower I would say be at least level 20 and the right perks and second have an other weapon good against big zeds to be versatile.
I wanna play this but I can't make sense of what you even do in the game. Also I see alot of paid dlc which scares me and I feel like I'd be behind on years of events exclusive stuff or something
The only thing that you have to do is survive. Usually this is easiest if you all work together, by healing and killing enemies. Non of the DLC weapons are needed, and you can get access to them if someone in your lobby is using them. All the event items are purely cosmetic and give you no in game advantage, same goes for any locked characters. I wouldn't be discouraged from trying the game out because of the DLCs.
Helio is pretty good against everything, but I would say play everything and see what you like. You also have to save to get the Helio so it will take some time to get to.
I would put Flamethrower lower on the list because it is basically an upgraded Caulk'N'Burn, and the starter weapon is already good by itself for dealing with trash, the HRG Incendiary Rifle would go at rank 3, Husk Cannon at rank 2, Helios still number 1. Why would I put HRG higher ? Simply because of it's ability to deal massive AoE damage during Zed time, as when you use Pyromaniac skill, you can pretty much throw 2 to 3 grenades in a row with an unextended Zed Time. With a commando in your team, you can pretty much lay waste with this weapon and even take down larger zeds as the ability to continuously throw grenades without reloading during zed time is damn OP.
I can see that reasoning. This one was one of the harder weapons list that I made, mostly because any of Firebugs weapons are good it just depends on the situation and what you want to accomplish. Also it depends on what your team needs.
2:27 Why's the stock collapsed?! This game depicts proper chamber-loading with fixed-tube guns, but they still feel the need to have the MAC-10's stock folded?! I don't get it. Sure, it's a trashy stock, but it's better than no stock at all. 2:42 Except that its stock is collapsed for no reason. 3:42 How much of an idiot would someone have to be to reload a gun or launcher with their right hand when it swivels open to the left and they shoot right-handed anyway?! The M.E.T.R.O. games got that right. If it swivels open to the left, that gives a right-hander an advantage because you can load using the left (support) hand. A left-hander would have to load using their shooting hand. Unless yer willing to hold it cockeyed while loading, but that would be incompetent. *Note:* If it swiveled open to the right, then that would justify loading with the right hand. That would also mean that it's technically in left-handed configuration. Personally, I'd like to see more left-handed or ambidextrous characters in FPS games (or video games in general). In Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza, John McClane is authentically depicted as left-handed. It's the only Die Hard game that gets that right. 5:28 Definitely made by Maliwan. Some of these weapons even have Maliwan-style holographic sights. 8:22 Which makes no sense since there's no visible change to the weapon model. What would make sense for that upgrade would be to have an extended magazine tube that fits flush with the barrel and adds two rounds to the total capacity. Alternatively, it could be turned into a dual-tube gun. Of course, that would mean it would have an odd number as its total capacity because you have two mag tubes of the same length, plus one barrel/one chamber (and you're loading it entirely with the same ammo type, so no fussing over standard versus Magnum shells). *Note:* The real-world Winchester 1897 is specifically designed for use only with standard-length shells (18.5x70mm if expressed in metric). 8:40 Any fixed-tube gun should have an interruptible reload process should the need arise (which it often does when do0ming zeds).
