You should invest in a propane powered autostart generator for both your home and your shop. They are only 5 or 6 grand installed and could power your entire shop and equipment. They run on propane which you would in a big 250 gallon tank on-site that could run the generator for weeks.

Disasters are always awful, but the one silver lining I found when we were hit by a major earthquake in 2011 was the community coming together. There's so much bullshit and division these days that it feels like we all hate each other, but seeing crowds of students organising themselves to knock on literally every door in town, make sure people were alright, drop of a sandwich and a warm drink just blew me away.

Im up in Jersey but my family has a house down in Winter Haven, Florida. Our house, which we've had for almost 20 years now, is surrounded with floodwater. Whats worse is that its next to a chain of lakes, so the backyard may have a chance of sinking in. The couple that is renting the house as of now is retired, but they still did whatever they could to keep water from getting in the house. (As in placing sandbags around the property and all doors because the house is pretty low to the ground) I'm not sure if the house was damaged or not, but I'm sure there's lots of work do do on it. Anyway hope you can get the shop up and running again, we're here for you brother. Plenty of love from New Jersey.

Man that place was hammered a bit for sure... I remember being deployed for Hurricane Harvey in Houston... Was supposed to get to first search area & then spend 8 hours searching we ended up refueling the boat three times and did a 22 straight hour shift....... We pulled folks off the tops of the roofs, Out of trees & off the tops of semi trucks.. Evacuated about 7 different apt buildings.... After that we got to our lodging and spent 12 hours on then 12 off for our shifts for days on end..... It was insane flooding

I'm blessed and here today because of my neighbors and friends cutting us out our house. Everyone please say a prayer for these people.. There are a lot of people flooded that aren't near the coast .. But the wind speeds were rediclious.. I just got a little brush by when Ian was a cat. 1 on the other side and it was powerful.. But slowed down just enough to not really be bad here.. It's scary to go through.. Just wondering when the roof is coming off for hours.. Or flooding comeing in.. Man.. We barely survived Irma over here.. Some people had damage and there were tornadoes close by.. It was a long night.. And exhausted from trying to get ready.. I wonder how high above sea level it is there..
