Why no dirt so when you play on a field with no dirt you always get the same bounce and hops . Then you play on a real field with grass and dirt your defense is not ready cause the ball plays so different
Have a full artificial turf for the infield in my school. It is mega hot when the sun is up but at night it is alright. Sliding is a bit rough due to the small pebble? like things. However, it does not like rip the clothing unless you are wearing very thin baseball pants. I would say it is definitely cleaner than dirt or grass.
It makes me so sad not seeing real dirt in the infield.
They hosted the first round of the PG tournament here in 2020.

I've played on a field with pro-turf but the field still had dirt in the infield / basepaths.
