    Once the distortion is turned on, it’s hard to tell the difference, but with the addition of bass and drums, it becomes even more difficult to distinguish.

    All the pickups are really good. I have had the nailbomb and loved it and currently have the War Pigs in my Duvell 6. Basically just get the pickup that you can get the best deal on.

      Nice one mate, the Warpig remains one of my fav pickups, so versatile for such a high output pickup. You’re absolutely right, any of these pickups will get the job done, just slightly different flavours of BKP 🍻

    Great playing and great tone. In my opinion, all of these pups in this video sound truly amazing. But for me, or at least right now, the Warpig and Nailbomb are where it’s at. I can’t seem to choose between the two. I think I want them both.

    Nailbomb absolute winner in rhythm and solo, most open en musically sounding, then with a fair distant Warpig (nice and also quitte open sounding but a little more or even too crispy), closely followed by the Aftermath which sounded nice and but far more compressed to me (probably easy to mix) , the Silo didn't get to me at all, sounded quitte dull and seems very tame. I listened this on Sony MDR-7506 with a ESI U22 XT audio interface.

    Surprised how close the Warpig and Silo sounded in this demo. Owned both in different guitars at different times so I'd never be able to tell that. The Silo sounded slightly more open and midrangey to me, lower output as well, however I liked the Warpig best across the board.

    • @gabriel_guitar
      @gabriel_guitar  8 месяцев назад +1

      Nice one mate, cheers for checking the video out. The Warpig and Silo seem to have a similar voicing for sure, and like you mentioned with slightly more high mids and highs on the Silo, both great options but I’m very partial to the Warpig as well 🍻

      To me not too surprising since Rabea played the Warpigs for years and loved them but when he designed his own set he wanted something a little more open and that could do lower gain better.

    Without the post processing is the best. They are all very similar but here is what I noticed. The Nailbomb sounded the most versatile without being too chimey on the high strings. Harmonics sounded the best. The aftermath was a little darker or some might say warmer sounding but the highs were not as crisp. Good for rhythm or drop tunings probably. The Warpig was kind of underwhelming. It seemed less dynamic and kind of sanitary sounding. The Silo has a lot of the same characteristics as the Nailbomb but with an overall crunchy or fuzzy undertone but I thought it was a little more chirpy on the high notes because of it.

  • @srh361
    @srh361 4 месяца назад

    Honestly I didn't know the pickups were changing until I noticed it on the screen. After so much gain its hard to tell the difference between them. I've got a set of Holy Divers in a Gibson '61 SG reissue and they sound great. I've been on the fence about purchasing the new Peace makers. I collect pickups and when I get bored with a set I'll change them out just to have something different and just to give me something to do but it's really hard to take out the Hily Divers. They're the only set of BKP I own so I'd like to replace them with another BKP set but I'm not sure what.

    • @fuzzypanocha

      Huge difference imo. Aftermath sounds super tamed and not as chuggy, war pig is a hammer, silo is in between. Pinched harmonics on the warpig come out waaaaaaaaaay better. Also the feel, meaning his intricate picking comes out differently for each pickup. Are people deaf? Also insane difference in EQ from the warpig to the aftermath. Aftermath just has less mids and tons of low end, but rounded off well

      @@fuzzypanocha i'm not deaf, my monitors tell me the truth. The point is: the difference is so minimal that you can get the exact same tones with any of the four pickups. Maybe if it was recorded with a real amp and cab, you would hear major differences.

      Hi mate, yeah, with high gain they can all sound pretty much identical specially in a mix, but they do change wildly how the guitar responds to your playing, e.g. the Nailbomb feels much quicker to play with a more immediate attack than the Warpig which feels “spongier”, if that makes any sense…

    In the mix, with so much processing, there is no significant difference. It really doesn't matter - they are all overpriced. With his amount of processing you can achieve the same sound with any pickups less than half the price. Amp and speakers will have more impact than pickups. Emperors new clothes.

    Silo sounds like less low end fatness. Percussive, sure, but somehow gutless

      That’s the opposite of how I always hear them.

      I’ve got Silos in my McCarty and P22 and they are pretty fat and round sounding.
      Aftermaths I have in my SE Lowery and they sound pretty mid focused. Seems to cut through the mix better.

      that's what I hear to, far to tame and gutless at least with this guitar audible in this video..

    Sounds like there is no difference or it’s very little. Have listened the samples with Beyerdynamic DT 770

      Thanks for sharing the headphones used mate. Yeah, I’m the mix it’s very subtle, a bit more obvious isolated but it’s still not night and day difference between the pickups.

      @@gabriel_guitar thank you too bro! You did really great work🔥 may be the difference will be more audible playing live out of the mix.

    so your saying these are "different" pickups

  • @marzbitenhaussen

    in reality these pickups are very different from each other, a less processed sound would have been more adequate, no gates, compressors or digital plugins

      I agree mate, they are very different in terms of feel, but in terms of sound double tracked and in a mix not so much. I try keeping my processing to a minimum, and in the isolated tracks it’s just the plugin and IR.
      On my latest comparison I used an actual evh 5150 III and a Friedman IR-X and to be honest I was expecting the differences to be much more obvious than they were… I mean there are differences, but still very subtle. In terms of feel they’re worlds apart though.
      Thanks for checking video out and feedback :)

    All I know is you should be writing riffs and songs for a living. You should be a studio guy for hard rock/metal bands.

    They all sound the same, especially in a mix. I’ve listen on my phone, my stereo, my TV speakers and they all sound the same. Bummer
