- Hi guys ! today I am posting Kavita’s 1st episode from her serie “Kavita’s beauty closet” ! I am so excited for her videos ! today is a bit different as she was traveling to NYC with her family, I asked if we could do her first video together. I love that look....a casual outfit and a bold red lip. It's so effortless yet chic!
Could you (or an artist in your amazing ‘team’) ever make a video doing make-up on someone who lost hair due to an illness (like alopecia or indirectly through, hopefully, healing cancer)? Id absolutely love that. Its amazing to see all these beautiful women with different ethnic backgrounds, but it would also be amazing to see you do make-up on someone without eyelashes, eyebrows and an amazing amount of hair. X
The lip is stunning but I'm mesmerized by the eyes, so soft but the makeup enhances them perfectly. Kavita is gorgeous and her baby is adorable 😍

Such lovely, simple makeup but effective, not a ton of foundation and thank god no fake eyelashes ! Looks so summery and it just pops !

My first thought before watching the video was how great it is to see that you are working with someone who is ethnic with lighter skin tone. While we don't tend to struggle with foundation shades, many looks that work well for others, don't work with our features at all. ( once a mua darkened my whole face and neck before applying makeup because she didn't know what to do with my face...)
It was interesting! Yeah I have dark hair and pale skin that is yellowish. Don’t know how to explain it, it’s like fair skin that is still a bit olive. When I moved to a place with winter after college I discovered how pale I really was haha my parents said I looked like a ghost

Hi Violette! Can you do a makeup look with someone who has acne scars? I've found that it's hard to make my makeup look glowy when I'm always trying to hide the scars on my cheeks and don't want to highlight them. Love your videos!

Have a question: would you tell me how to find the right shade of lipstick? I have pale olive skin, yellow undertone, green eyes and dark brown hair. So that's mean that my complexion is warm toned. But I once recognized my type as "sparkling winter". I actually prefer to wear bright rather cool toned colors - fuchsia pink, bright red, royal blue, emerald green, any shade of purple... Then when choosing the lipstick, shall I stick to warm or cool color palette or neutral? I'm really puzzled and would love to see a video on this topic (makeup, clothes, gold vs silver, choosing the right color that suits you). Thanks in advance. I love your tips...

Blush question from a very fair skinned girl - think Snow White coloring --- what color blush do you typically suggest? Using your logic of pink blush on olive skin... then coral/peach blush on pink undertone fair skin? Merci! I can't find good color on me ever.
I loved this! It really helped me to know how to warm up my skin in winter when it is too pale-usually products recommended like bronzers look too orange or gray on my yellow undertone skin so the apricot recommendation was excellent!

Hi Violette could you please explain why you don’t ever use powder in any of your makeup tutorials? Other beauty gurus always advise to use powder and baking technique to mattify your canvas and keep the concealer or foundation intact. I personally prefer no powder but I do notice powder does help make the makeup last a bit longer throughout the day.

Such a nice video, As always from Violette. There is just one wee detail that I feel we missed out on: the coverup technique over the forehead where there was a pigmentation issue. It would have been so great to see how that was sorted.

Right, Sunny R. What I love about Violettes technical skills on her videos is that she is actually teaching the viewer how she creates all the magic. ❤️If I have a big night out coming up, I often refer to her work to get inspiration before I tackle my own makeup. Most of us have pigment issues at least somewhere on our faces and that is why I wish Violette had taken that little opportunity to show us how to deal with that on the lovely face of the woman in the film. The end result was so flawless that my eyes were nearly in disbelief!🤗

You do very good work, Kavita is insanely beautiful. That look really compliments her well . Although, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen a makeup artist place a blush on the apple of the cheek , I thought I was going to cringe . I was always told not to do that. It makes the color “ disappear “ when the face is “ relaxed “ - ( not smiling... ) - call me “ cynical “ , and maybe a little “ weird “ . Weird is still ok , right ?
