Since you asked. My favorite thing about Power Rangers (and by extension Super Sentai and Kamen Rider) is that it’s a superhero franchise that embraces change and innovation. I love Marvel and DC but they reset their superheroes to the status quo too much. Power Rangers are superheroes that are allowed to permanently change. If Power Rangers was created by Marvel or DC we’d still be in Mighty Morphin’ and the Rangers would still be students at Angel Grove High School even though it’s 31 years later in 2024. Superman and Batman have been around since the 1930s but in Power Rangers the seasons are written with endings in mind. Then next season you get a brand new set of Power Rangers. Rinse and repeat. It’s the perfect formula for a 30 year old show (Kamen Rider has been using that formula for even longer since it debuted in the 70s).
Personally always loved how it both embraces change and innovation but isn’t afraid to also embrace and celebrate the past especially on the JP side with Showa rangers and riders reappearing with no design updates. Loved how in Let’s Go Kamen Riders they had Ishinomori’s other heroes show up in their classic suits where if it was Marvel or DC they would have had new suits that only show up for a few minutes at most just to sell new toys
@@jackhageman9983 Monster of the Week doesn't mean the show doesn't change. The Monster of the Week formula has been the same since Kamen Rider S1 but they always find new ways to tell MOTW stories. Some superhero stories do the MOTW format without changing the status quo. That's when it becomes bad.
2:10:32 Plus in Light speed Rescue the Light speed Rangers don’t have secret identities publicly morphing into their ranger suits and are literally funded by and basically part of the Military.
I get so into deeper research I tend to overlook the more obvious stuff LOL it doesn’t help that Mariner Bay was constantly bombarded by demons leading right up to that episode too
I can't believe that they actually let you show that Sadistic Album Cover art. It's not only sexual, but bloody too. Hopefully the video doesn't get flagged.
Glad I could help with the extra pointers! Power Rangers is something very dear to me, and I was more than happy to pitch in for the extra help! Keep up the good work my friend! (Also fellow resident of Idol Hell I see, super awesome!)
This was amazing! I was kinda hoping Izzy and Pupperazzi from the Dino Thunder/Ninja Storm crossover episode "Thunder Storm" would've been bought up since they're kinda obscure, but it was mostly just wishful thinking, not to mention there probably wouldn't have been much to bring up. Amazing video though!
mcdonald's promotion for The Power Rangers movie in the '90s... They finally had a morpher that could clip onto the front of your belt and it would have all the Ninjetti coins in it. God I loved that so much!! I was the kid who was always running around his neighborhood in the Power Ranger costume and I was so happy to finally have a morpher on my belt!!!
Ahh, glad someone finally pointed out that the Green Ranger theme was originally made for the Cybertron pilot. Glad we got it somewhere though, it's still a banger.
21:27 SPD, while not stated, is in its own universe. We know this because it has much butter technology than in the main universe, and in a flashback, Z was being made fun of by aliens when she was a little girl
My favorite thing about Power Rangers (especially as a kid) is the zords and megazords; You got a bunch of machines fusing together to form dope robots to fight evil monsters, how cool is that! I'm a bit sad in retrospect that the chanels I watched Power Rangers on as a kid/teen (The French-canadian Teletoon in the case of Samurai onwards and the late "Teletoon Retro" side-channel in the case of MMPR) never broadcasted the second part of the final episode of MMPR Season 1 (The one with the parents coming to the highschool), or any of the shows from MMPR season 2 to RPM. Growing up with mechs like the Thunder Megazord or the Jungle Fury Megazord, in their intented TV context, that must have been the stuff of legends. In the case of Samurai onwards, I watched up to Super Ninja Steel, and I never found the motivation to watch Beast Morphers, in part because a part of me probably said something like "you should watch RPM first. Even if the 2 shows are relatively self-contained, maybe knowing more about Vengix could help, especially if you watched the show itself instead of reading the wiki, so you can see Vengix in practice intstead of in theory." or maybe I was just too lazy to do it at the time, I don't remember. The only way I could experience those seasons were seeing the transformations and the megazord sequences on RUclips (including stuff from the sentai equivalents, or even pre-zyuranger sentai teams), some videos about the movies (mainly about the 1995 one), and Linkara's own History of Power Rangers series. Side note; I was able to eventually watch the 2017 movie on my dad's Ipad, then some years later, watch the 1995 movie on TV. For me, the crazier thing about seeing the 1995 movie in those conditions wasn't necesserly the movie itself (I knew the cast was the updated one from season 2/early season 3, that it was an episode of the show on film, and that its itteration of the MMPR theme might be the best one from the series itself) , but more the fact it had a french-canadian dub. For the 2017 movie, it having a french-canadian dub is a given for 80 or 90% of movies releasing in my country, especially nowadays. But the 1995 movie, with the cast of the show at the time, having a bunch of the voices I grew up with, this was an experience, especially for me having grew up with the season 1 of the show. Adam being dubbed by the person doing Johna Hill's french-canadian voice (specifically in the Jump Street movies) was more surprising than Adam being there itself for exemple. Not that french-canadian dubbing didn't exists before the 2000's (it's done since the 1950/1960's), but still. We're talking about a movie derived from a show who never had a french-canadian dub itself (as far as I know). In brief; thanks to Power Rangers as one of my big gateways into mechas and tokusatsu. Sorry if this comment is too much for you, I had a lot of stuff on my mind. Excellent iceberg overall!

So interesting that for a while the German DVDs were the only source to own a season for fans because I had a lot of DVDs (I am German) to watch seasons I was too little for at the time and it was not difficult at all to get them :D I think we just ordered online

I probably should have said it in the actual video but I wanted to avoid fan made stuff because that’s a slippery slope and if I mention one thing I gotta mention everything LOL the iceberg was already long enough as it was
Yeah like scorpion rain actually affected the writing of Forever Red and for POWER / RANGERS… I just wanted to hate on it and technically it’s not fan made because it would need a fan to make it lol
AWWW YEAHHHHH

Kudos to anyone who's on the toilet for 2 hours straight

It’s crazy how well they reworked it into the green ranger’s theme that I don’t fault people for thinking it was composed specifically for him
Not to nitpick, but you forgot about Kite when talking about on-screen deaths
No no you good. I thought I covered all my bases but it’s good to know where I missed a few spots thanks
Because no-one cares about Kite.
Can't wait to watch this also I was the dude who told you about power ranger dash
