- We get a lot of customers that wish they could just get rid of the old navigation system in their Acura but unfortunately it's tied into so many parts of the car it just can’t just toss it out the window. In this video we show you how to upgrade the navigation screen and keep the factory audio system. This upgrade will make the factory navigation non functional but with this upgrade you won’t care.

Thanks for the Video. Just installed an Android head unit on my 2008 MDX. The only tricky part I found is to remove the vent cover. I found it easier if you do it from below instead of prying, i.e. remove the radio first, and you'll be able to reach those nasty clips from below, and you can pull out the vent from there

How to get rid of the buzz noise.
After connecting everything everything there's a buzz noise on speakers, I bought a ground loop isolator but after connecting to audio RCA the sound from the aftermarket radio stopped, only satellite audio i can hear, i had to connect back the way it was.

How do I improve the aux quality
So I recently purchased a standard 2008 Acura MDX. Does not have navigation or rear camera for backing up/reversing. Is it possible to upgrade it to Acura navigation model with reverse camera? If so…. Do I just need the bezel and navigation system from the Acura with tech or sport package? Would everything plug and play? I’m nyc queens…. Would love to bring you the vehicle if you would allow
Great video I was able to connect everything on my Acura MDX 2007, the only issue I have it's the back up camera, it turned on but looks distorted, screen looks divided in couple of lines and is black and white, no color video I'm trying to find out why. Do you guys have an idea why? Does it happen to you when installing the back up camera wire harness?
@@sammysandoval2691 go into the settings and change the video format to ntsc and hit confirm
NVM 😊 I figured out, Factory settings, password on my android radio is 8888 then hit on protocol parameter settings option, reversing camera format and finally hit the option *NTSC/PAL, and eureka!! Distortion solved 😊🎉🎉🎉, again thanks for the video

Nice! I was wondering about sound quality and if you lose the surround functionality by running aux. One question I have. Can you run video out to the video in behind the center console to display image from CarPlay unit onto overhead display? That would be a way to show video the overhead display.
i am not sure. we didn't test if the overhead display was functional after replacing the screen. I think you possibly could because the hard buttons should still work but we can't confirm.

Once you remove the navi screen how can you enter the radio code if your battery dies or you remove power to the factory radio?

At mobile max couldn't find the long yellow video RCA cable with both red and yellow small wires together, you guys ran out of it?? I already ordered the 12v to 6v converter connector but didn't find that long one you used to connect back of the GPS under the driver seat

no you can do what someone else suggested and use bluetooth audio if you have a 2010+ or aux via XM that might be better but you will need the USASPEC HON45

I know this is off topic but since I have your ear I’m looking to upgrade my 2000 Acura integra speakers. I’m already using an aftermarket radio and I’m looking to install 4 new speakers and a 1000 watt amp. It’s a two part question.
If I used component speakers and install tweeter can’t I just splice into the oem tweeter in the door or do I need to use a crossover?
If I go with a full range speaker what should I do with the tweeter in the door?

its just the nature of the connection you can try going straight out of the android screen to the factory amplifier but it will require some custom harness work.

yes just would need to hook this radio to the other one so that all audio comes from one
Hey man i have a 2004 mdx and im having navi rom drive issues. Screen flickering sometimes nav even will work. Should i try to replace the driver in the assembly?? Are there any aftermarket options to make stock climante control work? Should i bite the bullet and buy one from ebay? Or last option is there any way an aftermarket dvd player under the seat could still work and save all functionality. PLEASE HELP😂😂🙏
no there is nothing that will control the factory climate control that is aftermarket. If you have engineering experience maybe you can come up with something but there is nothing on the market right now that will. No you will lose rear entertainment and the CD changer. You might. be able to convert from nav screen to non nav but that is about it.
