I have spent the day curled up in bed and have been binge watching the old advent videos, so glad we get another one today! This advent calendar is so beyond pretty 🤩
this advent calendar has defiantly improved compared to macs other advent calendars of the past but still got a long way to go to be worth the money in my opinion . love you soph so glad the advent calendar series is back .
It would be really interesting to take the same amount of money you spend on various calendars and then try and put together a full face from that brand plus enough extra items to get to 24. And you can only select from the five cheapest items in each category of course, because they are not going to put expensive things in. Would be interesting to see if it is possible to get the range of products or if some brands just fail to make bronzers etc.
I love the eye look you did, the colours suited you so well, that shimmer shade is gorgeous, I think it's better than last years calendar if I recall last years was full of just lipsticks and day 24 was just a mirror. Ly stay safe 💗 xxx

Ooh the last lipstick named Mehr is probably based on the urdu/hindi name Mehr which means blessing. I have no idea if MAC was going for that but that's the first thing that came to me. There also was a queen back in the 14-15th (?) century who was supposed to be really beautiful - radiant like the sun is how they described her - and she was nicknamed Mehr, so maybe that's what they were referencing if not the name in general.
Mehr is named after a wife. He named the lipstick after his wife when he made the shade. He is one of the national/international artist trainer rep in Asia don't ask me the name .. I don't know 🤭
Their full sized lipsticks are like 25/30quid iirc so it's definitely worth more than you're paying. But it depends on how many of the things you would use.

Sophie you didnt mention that the calendar is reusable because you can refill the boxes and create your own advent calendar. I think they did pretty well this year compared to other years, the other ones were just a load of crap

I wonder if the paint pot was more so like a gel liner or such that you apply with an angle brush? Sometimes they are a little drier and you can add a bit of water or oil the loosen it a tad to work with it

I actually think this is a good calendar, plenty full size or minis. A lot of the calendars Ive seen unboxed this year have tiny sample sizes in. Would've like eye or lip pencils. 💋 Rubywoo is fab!
