Mike, I have been told that TalorMade adapters have a habit of getting stuck, one friend in particular ruined his graphite shaft trying to loosen Adapter in order to change loft, do you have any suggestions on how to open stuck shaft into head.
No need to pre heat. It'll work just fine to put the shaft in the puller and pre-load it, then apply the heat. Might save from touching the hot washer. Good video though.

I have the same puller...works great!
