Yanbu Al-Bahr (aka just Yanbu/Yambo) is a Red Sea cruise port and large city in Saudi Arabia's Al Madinah Province, with population around 190,000 (municipality population around 250,000). Yanbu is approx 300 km (185 mi) northwest of Jeddah (the country's largest seaport and the cruise port to Mecca and Medina). Many Yanbu residents are foreign workers serving the nearby oil refineries and petrochemical facilities.
Port Yanbu is a major petroleum shipping terminal (serving three oil refineries) and also Saudi Arabia's second-largest seaport (after Jeddah). Yanbu is also a cruise port to the holy city Medina (Al Madinah Al Munawwarah) located approx 165 km (100 mi) to the east, The Yanbu-Medina travel time is ~1,5 hours. Three major oil pipelines (from the oilfields in the east) terminate at Yanbu.
As one of the oldest ports on the Red Sea, Yanbu has a history reaching back at least 2,500 years, when it served as a crucial staging post on the ancient spice and incense route from Yemen to Egypt and onward to the wider Mediterranean.
The Night Market is one of the popular markets that was established in the city of Yanbu, as its history dates back to hundreds of years, when the market was a major destination for sailors and merchants coming from Africa to the ancient port of Yanbu for the purpose of trade and exchange of goods.
Today, the market has been classified as a civilized front and a tourist destination for Yanbu, because it contains products that cannot be easily seen and obtained in any of the other markets.

Yanbu is divided into three cities: Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah, where companies and factories are located, Yanbu Al-Bahr, which is the large one that contains the airport, where the video was filmed, and Yanbu Al-Nakhl, where there are farms and springs.

We will be doing this trip in 2 weeks. It looks like a very walkable city? Is there anything you recommend during the day? Everything looks closed. Did the vendors accept credit cards or where would you get Saudi cash to spend? Did anyone bother you about filming?

i stayed here in 1982 for a long period almost 42 years before i did not even forgot a single moment and event so far now imagine how nice people are in yanbu.❤❤❤
