Man, seeing LoR content creators release 'opening a lootbox' videos sends a chill down my spine.

They are actually, in many countries, and Riot should be held accountable for it, hopefully a threat of a lawsuit will make them tone down

no, if you cut a unit from your deck, the item(s) get removed, even if you have ways to summon it from another card or ability.

Spicy Toast, do you think LoR is near a happy medium between being too f2p friendly as to be unsustainable (what it was before) and being too p2w to sustain its previous playerbase? Do you believe they could scale back the monetization while being sustainable or are many folks just not used from the shift of monetization of being super super f2p friendly?
It definitely is not free to play friendly (at least for the constellations specifically)
Getting gemstones / nova crystals and getting a character you want to 6 stars has been mapped out and can take multiple years if you are free to play only. That's not F2P friendly at all. It's definitely more pay to win now.
What the game really needs is a consistent way to get nova crystals / gemstones, ESPECIALLY since they are region locked. It sucks right now as a F2P player
I think they have a decent balance at the moment and it will just get better. They have already announced more ftp ways to earn the constellation materials.
If you don't care about going past 3 stars it is 100% f2p friendly. If you do care it is 100% NOT f2p friendly.
@@SpicyToastGaming opinions on the idea that the monetary decisions/directions of the constellations would be the downfall or a downturn of the game?

Why dont you buy the nova crystal bundle and instead the celestial one? The celestial one only give you gemstones and not nova crystal
I was doing it for champions shards, not the gemstones. This bundle gives way more of those.

It's been there since the 5.5 update dropped.
I assume it's because they made them purchaseable and they have the game available in the EU. The EU has some pretty tight restrictions on gambling mechanics, so as soon as they became available for real money, Riot legally had to show the odds of the lootboxes.

I'm sceptical regarding spending. Imagine sinking hundreds and thousands into the game, and it completely dies next year and becomes discontinued. Which seems quite possible, no matter how you look at it...
