It’s a great review, very honest trough the shots, gives a perfect idea of the reaction of the balls !!
You’ve got a sweet game. Love how nice you lay the ball down on the lane.
Liked listening to your comments on each shot, great! Surprised to see the Hy-Road Pearl as a bit stronger move. You're throwing 16 lb. balls. A few years ago I moved down to 15, but still keep a few 16 pounders which I can still get down the lane ok. It's just a little easier on my fingers to go to the lighter weight. Recently I've been comparing the Hy-Road, Hy-Road Pearl and Lights Out. The Lights Out seems to cover more boards. Recently compared the Hy-Road X and Pearl to find that they're motion are pretty similar.
Thanks for the nice words Clowny! Yea, the hyroad pearl has a bit stronger core in the 16 than the 15, so we are seeing start up earlier for sure. Lights Out is a classic, loved that ball! It was definitely super strong for a lower end ball so I'm not too surprised lol.
Nice review, thanks !
I was using this at a matchmaker event and the trend couldn’t do anything in the fresh, definitely wait for later in the night for the trend for sure
just bowled a 280 with the Trend on league last night. love the ball!
Good analysis of ball performances. Each of those are great color schemes. Closing scene could have been more faded away~~~?
On that 2-8-10 leave with the IQ Tour Emerald you needed to do a Bob Learn Jr. trick. He threw a perfect backup ball at it in a tournament. Wow!
Recently subscribed and have watched more than a handful of your guys' videos. I appreciate the depth and quality of the content provided. Keep it up!
One question, with reference to RG numbers, I was under the impression that higher RG numbers would naturally give the ball length, is that true? I was a little surprised to see you say that he Hyroad Pearl was the earliest of the 3, knowing it has a higher RG value than the Trend and IQ Emerald. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!
Hey Jeisler ! Thanks for the comment! Yes you are correct, a higher RG will naturally give the ball length. I am throwing 16lbs in the video so the core numbers on the Hyroad pearl are a little stronger. The emerald and trend however are really similar 15lbs-16lbs so that comparison should be really close to if I threw 15lbs.
Hyroads in 16lb at totally different balls ..the 14lb hyroads have around a 0.30 diff and 16 has 0.58 diff that’s like totally different ball
Good stuff
Thanks
My track heat lava is drilled with the pin 1.5”above my middle finger (I’m right handed) and it is literally the best wood lane ball EVER
I know this video is older; but losing the Spectre, would the Trend be a good replacement for wood lanes.
The spectre would go down 15-10 and amazing backend on the some what dryer lanes.
Thank you
Trend bowling ball is a amazing. Just got it Friday 11/6/2020. And had league tonight i went from a 159 average to a 226 average in three games.
Woah that's amazing
been watching your videos, really enjoy them.
Im looking to step up from a Storm Tropical Surge that ive been using a while drilled with pin up, i do have access to a Storm Marvel, would you consider the Marvel a good step up or should i consider something like the Trend? perhaps something else?
Thanks genafk! Hmm the Storm marvel was discontinued a long while back, not sure if you can still get your hands on one, but I would recommend the storm IQ Tour, or the new IQ Tour Nano Pearl as your next purchase for a step up from the surges. They are mid range balls and have an amazing track record. Hope this helps!
The graph at the end really helps with visualizing the relative difference between balls. Would the IQ Emerald be a 3,9 on that graph?
Yes exactly ! Little weaker, and definitely sharper than the tour
Wow i didnt even know that you had videos on youtube
What is the background music to your videos? Sound very enlightening. Thank you.

Jungo, you mention that you use the same layout on all your balls. This makes sense to me from a staff player’s perspective since it makes it easier to judge the similarities and differences from ball to ball by having the layout be a constant rather than a variable. However, would you recommend the average tournament player to do this, and if so, what suggestions do you have for how to decide on that magic layout other than just tons of trial and error?
Yes I have 2 main layouts I use. I would definitely recommend this for the average tournament player and then if you are really missing a shape in your bag then do a one off layout to fit that gap. For example I have a one off layout for a really tall pin ball for 8-10 game format tournaments. Hope this helps! -Jungo
I honestly think that maybe you guys should include some of the high camera angle to really show off the path of the ball. From an above angle you can truly see the reaction a little better than floor level, just some opinion. Me personally I like to watch ball motion from a high angle
We tried doing that with a ladder, but it vibrates when the ball is thrown and the ceiling is so freakin high we can't hang anything. I'll talk to the mechanics and see if they have any ideas
Can you guys do more 2 handed ball reviews
So, I've been looking into getting the Trend. For my stance, I start in between the middle dot and the first dot to the right of it. The ball that I bowl with is a Columbia 300 Nitrous with a fingertip grip. My target is for the ball to go right over the second arrow to the right. My alley's lanes are made of wood and are on a medium oil setup. Which ball here would you recommend?
Hmm, yes the trend would be a good option. The wood lanes characteristics make the ball hook early, so definitely need a ball that has a shiny cover, trend, phaze3, iq tour emerald would all be great choices and will hook a little more than the nitrous. Hope this helps!
@@jrproshop This absolutely helps. I figured this year would be the year where I really dig into my wallet and get myself a really good ball. One that pros would use and that I could get my form locked down on. Thanks for the reply!
how does the trend do compared to the fireroad, both are pearl reactive but i like that the trend is smoother but my fireroad has more entry angle. im jw cause im looking to upgrade to a more smoother yet reactive piece. im looking at this and phaze 3.
If you are looking for something smoother but similar to the fire road I would recommend the All Road. Same core but a smoother slightly stronger cover stock. Hope this helps
I have a Pro Motion from Storm plus a Hy-Road that you featured in this video. II also throw a Crux and Phaze, how would that ball fit my lineup?? I am trying to get ready for Nationals and get the right lineup.
The trend would hook pretty similarly to your hyroad just more angular
@@jrproshop Would you refer another ball?
What type of ball cleaner would U recommend for the trend?
Storm reacta clean, made for the reactive bowling balls.
I want your trend mine doesn’t do that
Which ball in your opinion is a better burn ball. Hyroad Pearl or emerald?
Both have the same coverstock, but they will create different shapes off the end of the pattern. The iQ will be a bit smoother, the Hyroad will snap a bit harder. Just depends what you want the ball to do
I just joined a league and only use 2 balls at the moment. Storm Trend and a Storm Ice for my spare ball. What's another good ball I should use with those two?
Nice that's a great start! Would suggest something that hooks more than the trend like the axiom
@@jrproshop cool. Thank you
I’m an intermediate two hander who needs a new ball I need to get out of the rhino phase
Would the Trend work for a 2 finger bowler throwing 13 to 14 mph for leauges
Yep! As you are probably a little rev dominant
@@jrproshop what kind of layout
What is your opinion of the Trend Vs Idol Pearl?
Great question, the idol core is a tad stronger so I'd expect the idol pearl to hook a little earlier and be a hair stronger overall
@@jrproshop So on a longer pattern, later in the block as the lanes break down, Idol Pearl or Trend? And on a medium pattern, later in the block as the lanes break down, Idol Pearl or Trend?
Hmm, with the limited info, we'd go with a trend on the longer pattern because you'll theoretically be further inside and need the ball to turn the corner harder down lane to carry. And then we'd go with a idol pearl on medium oil, late block as it'll hook a little smoother and a little more as your break point will be further right. Hope this helps.
@@jrproshop So in your opinion the Trend turns the corner harder than the Idol Pearl?
Exactly what is the correct way to resurface my Storm Trend??
Please! Step by Step:
Fully resurfaced, 500, 1000, 1500, Storm polish
@@jrproshop and each time on each is...???
@@jrproshop btw you guys are the best on the planet!!!!! TY!!!!!
Awesome videos. Just bought aTrend to hopefully compliment a nuclear cell.
Or do like something to help our game
how dose this compare to the drive
Much longer and sharper
@@jrproshop but will it hook more?or is it just a different shape
Jungo i tried throwing it 2 handed and it was like 9mph hahaha
Hahaha it's definitely harder than the kids make it look
@@jordanjungjrproshop9380 right i tried but it was a fail. Lol i can 2 finger it with a small back swing. but 2 hand its alot harder that it looks.

haha good catch! just keeping you on your toes ;)
Tbh I have heard it sucks so maybe that's why
@@elijahpipkin4081 ive never thrown one, but its really similar to the Phaze 3 in reaction.
@Elijah Pipken I love my astro physix. It is a great ball for heavier conditions
Snack buck!!
Just realized you throw 16lb ha

haha born and raised
@@jordanjungjrproshop9380 lol i didn't even know i heard the certian words. So are you guys involed in Jr Raymond or ia your shop i different shop
@@Matt_Holcomb not associated with that guy at all lol
@@jordanjungjrproshop9380 ok makes sense. Lol thats why i asked if you are Canadian. I thought your pro shop was connected. But hey learned something new today. Still love all your videos and reviews
The JR stand for Jordan (Jungo) and Ryan (Barks)
It’s just another Hy-Road in a different cover stock..... whoop Dee doo
if we're talking 15#, the hy-road is going to go significantly further down the lane and be sharper off the spot than this ball. in 16#, which JR throws, the hy-road weightblock is much, MUCH stronger than in 15#, and is going to be a lot closer to the trend in midlane and backend.
