That's the strategy I have in mind as well - PC the Premier (planning to get it in 2025) to a second Custom Cash. I don't have a Double Cash because I get 2.625% cash back (because of my Merrill investment account) with the BofA Unlimited Cash Rewards card.
My thoughts are maybe Citi will eventually come out with the Strata Elite as a replacement for the Citi Prestige card and open it up to new applications again. As for the Citi Strata Select, the theory of a Rewards+ refresh reincarnated as the Strata Select is a possibility. I am also thinking that another possibility is the Strata Select will be a no annual fee travel card, giving cardholders access to the Citi transfer partners. Perhaps this theory would put this Strata Select card in competition with the Capital One Venture One and the Wells Fargo Autograph cards.
It would make sense given they discontinued the prestige and make that the strata elite while it would make sense to make the rewards+ the strata select
I was planning on getting the rewards + card 6 months down the line. If there's a refresh that still keeps the no AF and the bonus 10% redemption on points, Id be thrilled. But if either of these goes away, i might not want it anymore. Would the Select take the place of the Rewards + with Citi forcing conversions like they did with Premier or is there a chance the rewards + would be grandfathered in? This is a long way of saying I might be thrilled by the refresh, and I might be annoyed, depending on how they do this.
I just received a Citi strata card . So now I have Citi Double ,strata One more to complete the Citi trifecta this is in place of Chase card instead… Need the Custom to completed……
