I woke up this morning to the sad news that #queenelizabeth II had passed away. Her portrait appeared on some of our bank notes and all of our coins, and this video features two different #banknotes (one old and one new), plus four coins with different portraits of the Queen (1964, 1976, 2006 & 2020). I had the same question. My girlfriend lived in England for about 10 years---she told me that all new notes and coins are going to be made with his portrait now. So starting immediately, no new money will be made with her portrait. Existing bills and coins will of course remain in circulation.

Yes, King Charles will now be on our new coins. The Queen's portrait always faced to the right. The portrait of King Charles will face to the left.
