I love taking it with me into sports bars, restaurants, coffee shops, car maintenance almost every where my phone goes, only when walking or running for exercise does it stay home. Great video! The ipad mini is by far my favourite apple product, the size is perfect. I have an m1 ipad air, m1pro macbook and iphone 14 pro max, andthe ipad mini is the one i go to for most things unless i really need one of the other devices. Acgually the mini 5 in my opinion was much more comfortable to hold and i loved it, the processor was still decent enough too. The mistake i made with it was that i bought the 64gb version which was nowhere near enough for me, and for that reason i upgraded to the 6. Love it.
Glad you’re enjoying it! I feel the same as you using my mini as my go to device. I’m sure the mini 5 was great. I just love the Apple Pencil 2 support so much in this mini 6
@@ardentlytech The iPad Mini 6 is the first mini that wasn’t gimped, in fact,it was actually better than the larger option (a15 chip vs a14) at launch! Back in the early days of iPad mini, this really put me off, because the size has always been perfect, so easy to grab and use for everyting, but the cut coners on specs and features put me off the first 4 models! 5 was the first that was acceptable spec-wise, and the 6 was actually incredible!
This is my exact situation. I bought a used Mini5 a year ago and I love it. I use it mostly for media, keep my young kids occupied while at restaurants, and to proofread student papers. It is the perfect size, imo. But I have a 64gb version and it just isn’t enough It boggles my mind that 64gb is even an option but I guess they want people to go for the large storage with a big price hike. I’ve been keeping my eyes on the local used market app and there are a lot of 64gb Mini6s, I’m waiting for a 256 to pop up. If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to score a bundle with an Apple Pencil 🤞
@@UnicornsPoopRainbows hope you can get one! It's also worth looking at trade in value ... If it's decent enough to make an upgrade affordable, it's an option. Wow you got a nice price.. Even today a year later than you got yours, I'm considering a nicely used one 64gb (without cellular) for 320$ 😅. Trying to be patient and wait till the end of the month if mini 7 gets announced.

What can’t you do in Luma Fusion you can in Final Cut? One thing Luma can do is charge you just once and leave you alone 😂 I like Finalcut on desktop, and if I’m going to edit a 32” screen with mouse control and a full keyboard is the way to go. I don’t think I could do a full edit on a screen so small. Luma does enough for on the go editing. I tried Davinci on my M1 Pro and the screen is too small for a comfortable editing situation.
I don't mean to sound rude, but if you're wishing for final cut so you can play with it on an 8 inch screen, you are not doing serious video editing and don't need a desktop class video editor. Although final cut doesn't seem to be anywhere near as functional on the iPad as on Mac.
I have an 11inch android (Xiaomi) tablet and a Mini 5 and the mini gets far more use even though I use both regularly. For me, 8-10 inches is a sweet spot for tablet use so a 10.2 inch regular iPad size feels just a little bit too big and I’d lose so portability that I really like. Being able to bring it in a smaller bag or in a jacket pocket is awesome! My mini is primarily for multimedia, some social media, proofreading student essays, and some gaming. I find it extremely comfortable to type on as well, as I am currently doing. My Xiaomi is used for streaming and as an extra monitor for online classes. I’ve been hunting for some good cozy android games to play on it but that market sucks on Android😮💨 I’m not an apple fan at all, my mini is my only apple product. In the tablet space though, it is hard to beat iPad quality and longevity. My 64gb mini5 really needs more storage space though so I’m watching my local second market apps for a 256 mini6. And I won’t have to share my mini5 with my kids anymore, it will be their tablet with a VERY sturdy case ^^
Love that you are still enjoying your mini 5 despite not being an apple fan! That speaks volumes to these iPads as a whole for sure. That said I hope you’re able to find a great deal on an iPad mini 6 like I did. Thanks for sharing your experience of your iPad mini and your xiaomi tablet!
At max spec for only $899 I actually think it’s underpriced 👀 This thing is better than my iPhone for my workflow. It has About 4x the screen size, Apple Pencil support and USB-C.
Ohhh interesting take! I see where you’re coming from when comparing it to your iPhone! And I Just double checked and to make sure on apples site (I’m in the US) and it’s $799 for 256gb and cellular. Gets past to $899 if you add the Apple Pencil 2 of course.

I wouldn't say a kindle is better for reading because it's less distracting. It really comes down to the display. Kindle has virtually no eye strain. It's technically a screen, but it doesn't feel like "more staring at a screen" when you're using it.

Used to have the iPad mini 6th generation wifi and cellular 256gb and I regrettably sold it. I'm really wishing I hadn't now. I can get another one with my carrier but they want $271 plus tax down which in my opinion is too high if I'm going to put it on device payment. Plus I'll have to get the apple pencil 2 again. Still the main appeal of the mini 6th Gen is the ease of use that still offers you a plenty big enough display to consume media. I recently picked up the samaung tab s6 lite 2022 model that is a 10.4 inch but of course samsung uses a different aspect ratio than apple. The tab s6 lite almost does it. It almost gives me the ease of use and portability that I know the iPad mini 6th gen does. I also have the samsung tab s8 11 inch and at 11 inches it's just too large to qualify or be considered a one hand device that to be considered to have that same portability appeal. It however doesn't lack on specs and offers the highest and best. The tab s6 lite 2022 is nearly a one handed device and is a bit thinner and at 10.4 with samsungs aspect ratio the tab s6 lite almost does it. I'm using it basically one handed right now but if I were to compare the iPad mini 6th Gen to it I don't think real world use one would see much difference in processing speeds but of course IOS or IpadOS will or should reflect reflect better optimization. However having used both the tab s6 lite 2022 is blazing fast and has great specs and an incredible display. Thec iPad mini 6th Gen still wins at the end of the day due it's perfect aspect ratio thus ease of use. I will say if you are unable to locate the iPad mini 6th Gen at the right price, I would recommend the samsung tab s6 lite 2022 as Walmart has it on sale for just $249 right now. I just got mine but being so similar to my Tab s8 11 inch which still looks massive compared to the s6 lite 2022 ill probably take back and hold out for the iPad 6th Gen mini. Both are nice and I do recommend the s6 lite 2022, it is in my opinion that there is just no denying that the iPad is the king of tablets. No way around it.
Wow that’s for sharing your experience with these tablets! It’s good to know the iPad mini is still the best in your opinion as someone who actively uses Samsung tablets. Glad they are still working for you tho! Hope that you get reunited with the mini 6 sometime soon!
As an IPAD user the mini feels like a bigger iphone 14 plus rather than a smaller ipad. The screen is too small for the multimedia ipad use. This one is perfect for the user that likes small screens and doesn't care about the small text. For real if I wanted eye strain i'd take it. The bigger ipad has bigger text size and bigger hit boxes. You don't need to put the ipad in a pocket because the pocket is for your phone. The ipad always goes inside the backpack and gets used as a even more mobile laptop without the keyboard. Literally you don't need to buy the "300$" keyboard as you can use a better mechanical one for 100$ with bluetooth or usb cable. Then you can center on using the ipad as what it is. Big screen phone for multimedia. Yeah of course it is perfect to take notes but that is the main use outside multimedia. I'm talking to those that think to buy the mini and are not sure. The screen is too small to be considered usable. In your review you don't talk about the text size. It is ridiculous that it's smaller than my pro max text compared side by side. If you match both the same text size the mini becomes a joke as for screen space
Thanks for your input! Those are fair points you bring up, especially for text size. I never compared the two but never felt like I had too because I dont have an issue with it. I do prefer smaller text on screen so to me it isn't something I pay too much attention to. I understand that that wouldn't be ideal for everyone. As for pocketing your iPad mini, its just to emphasize how small it actually is. When I travel to work this is in my bag lol but from my desk to our meeting space, this will sometimes end up in my pocket 🤷🏽♂️ Like all the products out there, it really depends on your usage and preferences, these are just mine. Thanks for sharing yours!
Lol yeah man, this is the exact question I asked myself before getting a chance to get one myself. Like I said I think it’s size and power speaks to it’s versatility and that people are realizing that the iPad pros are being “nerfed” in a way. So this iPad isn’t trying to be anything more than just a companion device. Something that fits as a middle ground between a MacBook and iPhone as the iPad was created to be. That’s just my thoughts tho!
I used to be on the same boat! I had the iPad Air 4th gen for over 2 years. And I love it, still think it’s the best priced one and most versatile, but since I got this iPad mini I’ve used it so much more than I used my iPad Air.
@@rayrayballer1 media consumption, shopping/browsing, reading, and will use it to do some offline work when I’m not home and have things that’s need to get done or notes that need to get made.
Im hoping to get one at the end of the month. I noticed that the affinity designer was on the ipad, if you youve used it is it still okay on the ioad mini or is it too restrictivg due to the screen size? Ive heard conflicting things from people so would love to get an answer if possible!
The truth is a great companion device that isn't ideal for productivity. Tho Gaming,e-reading novels. Media consumption is a great on the go companion device. And agree it's a great fit in a jacket pocket on the go device. I find it way to limiting in productivity. As find the screen too small for serious note-taking. Reading Technical manuals,Blueprints,Schematics,Magazines & Comics is less then ideal. And find way too much scrolling and zooming in/out as annoying after 10mins. or so. And note-taking becomes a chore after 5-10mins kind of thing. There is a disconnect when viewing or writing technical notes with tables,diagrams,equations,etc.. due to the smaller screen. Much prefer a larger screen for all those things which is closer to actual page size. From note-taking to reading blueprints, schematics. To Technical textbooks and magazines and comics much more appreciated on a larger screen of the 11" Air & the 12.9". I agree about losing portability with the 12.9" but mine stays in my home at a desk or couch, chair where it shines for all things except portability. As bought for artist and creation endeavors. Also sheet music and hooked up to my Yamaha PSR E373 running DAW software and sheet music which wouldn't do well on the mini. Due to smaller screen have to be to close to see what is or way too much zooming in out and scrolling for my liking.
IPad mini is just a Box to dumb the older stock pile of a15s. As apple's trade ship is primarily the iPhone and that will always feature the latest flagship of their SoCs, the older ones has literally no where to exist. Also, the ipads are now with the M series processors.
Everyone has different needs from these iPads not everyone needs the m series chip performances. So call it what you want, it’s a good product for plenty of people otherwise there wouldn’t be 6 generations of it

Wow that’s for sharing your experience with these tablets! It’s good to know the iPad mini is still the best in your opinion as someone who actively uses Samsung tablets. Glad they are still working for you tho! Hope that you get reunited with the mini 6 sometime soon!
I’m not putting that in my pocket boss lol. I’ll put it in my backpack or hold it 😊
😂 that's perfectly fine, I just wanted to emphasize how small it was lol
I paid 800 for my mini 6, but I have the 256 GB
:O
When I travel to work this is in my bag lol but from my desk to our meeting space, this will sometimes end up in my pocket 🤷🏽♂️
Like all the products out there, it really depends on your usage and preferences, these are just mine. Thanks for sharing yours!
Great video.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it
I bought the M1 chip iPad Air….because mini6 was so expensive…
But if it was newer and or cheaper I would have gotten the mini6…
Yeah man that price is killer! If I hadn’t seen it for the price I got it for. I wouldn’t have it right now
what's up with everybody suddenly praising the iPad mini (2021) in 2023?
Lol yeah man, this is the exact question I asked myself before getting a chance to get one myself. Like I said I think it’s size and power speaks to it’s versatility and that people are realizing that the iPad pros are being “nerfed” in a way. So this iPad isn’t trying to be anything more than just a companion device. Something that fits as a middle ground between a MacBook and iPhone as the iPad was created to be. That’s just my thoughts tho!
iPad Pro 11” is the best iPad and screen size!
I used to be on the same boat! I had the iPad Air 4th gen for over 2 years. And I love it, still think it’s the best priced one and most versatile, but since I got this iPad mini I’ve used it so much more than I used my iPad Air.
@@ardentlytech yea! I got a good deal and got it for $500
And it’s m1
@@Alex-yz8vy that’s awesome! Glad you got a great deal!
I was able to get a mini 6 used 64gb wifi model with an Apple pencil for 280 which I thought was a good deal for what I plan on using it for.
That’s a great deal!!
What are u using it for
@@rayrayballer1 media consumption, shopping/browsing, reading, and will use it to do some offline work when I’m not home and have things that’s need to get done or notes that need to get made.
How??
A good video ❤
Glad you enjoyed
Watching this on my iPad mini sheeesh
Ayeee twins 😂
If they made the mini an iPhone pro oled note.. sold!
They need to do it!
Im hoping to get one at the end of the month. I noticed that the affinity designer was on the ipad, if you youve used it is it still okay on the ioad mini or is it too restrictivg due to the screen size? Ive heard conflicting things from people so would love to get an answer if possible!
Sorry to say I haven't actually used affinity on here or any other iPad. I downloaded it to give it a try but did not want to pay for it.
@@ardentlytech ah that's fair enough, ta for the reply anyway and great videos!
Thanks! glad you enjoyed it! hope you're able to find your answer.
My mini 6 5G runs much better than my mini 4 LTE. Bought the mini 6 5G at 100 USD off at Best Buy.
That’s awesome! I’m glad your mini 6 is serving you well!
I bet most of us on these comments have less than 2k in savings yet again are upbeat about buying these devices not just one u gots to have 2 😂
Lmao please note, I am not a financial advisor! 😅 get what you want with the money you earned, but none of these are worth being in major debt for!
My skinny ass don’t have back pockets big enough to put a mini in.😂
Apple keeps markets these as pretty pocket friendly in their ad 😅 ruclips.net/video/gdeqbg8QFJM/видео.htmlsi=9hc1DpxuMSSq7SnK
Totally see how the larger display works better for you! Goes to show how different everyone’s needs are and what devices can fill those needs.
The mini 6 is such an awesome device. It’s the one I reach for most!
Definitely agree! Glad you enjoy yours as well
IPad mini is just a Box to dumb the older stock pile of a15s. As apple's trade ship is primarily the iPhone and that will always feature the latest flagship of their SoCs, the older ones has literally no where to exist. Also, the ipads are now with the M series processors.
Everyone has different needs from these iPads not everyone needs the m series chip performances. So call it what you want, it’s a good product for plenty of people otherwise there wouldn’t be 6 generations of it
I have the 64gb one lmao 😢😂 blessed though 😊
Hey its still a great device! And Let’s go Heat!
@@ardentlytech yes it is I use it for everything!! Let’s go Heat!! Heat in 5
@@Camilavvm868 i know! We just need Jimmy to play more consistently tho!
@@ardentlytech yes! He’s been having trouble since the semi finals so hopefully it changes!!
