After seeing this video 5 days ago, I went home and cut mine out. All I can say is WOW! Not much noticeable difference at idle or low RPMs on mine, but as soon as you open it up she screams! Love this mod! Thank you for making us aware of this!

Thank you for this! I bought a boss a few weeks ago and it was so silent I checked behind the tires to see if it was electric. You've helped me greatly understand what to do. Activate Red Key > Take Out Restrictor in side pipes > Take out the resonator. I appreciate it so much!
Yeah makes a ton of difference especially with the track key

I had no idea there were resonators in the side pipes! How did it affect the drone in the cabin? Does it increase rasp outside the car? I have the boss h-pipe setup on my 2011 GT. Kooks shorty headers, stock cats, GT500 over axles (no resonators) and Borla S-Type ABs with a stage 2 Procharger. Love the exhaust sound as it is, but this delete has me interested as long as there is no rasp! Thanks for sharing!
@@lvedepo I don't think there was rasp, it was just deeper and sounded like a NASCAR flying by lol
@@BrailsfordsRides Haha! I think I'm gonna do it! Wish I had a backup set in case I don't like it. With your Boss and the red key and the ghost cam, are you on stock cats in those videos? Does the res delete on the side pipes enhance that?
@@lvedepo all those videos I have cats and standard resonators. In the early ones I had SLP loudmouths which basically deleted the muffler and in my later content roush axle backs

My car I purchased my boss brand new .it has only 43,000 miles on it.never turnd the track key on .its garage kept I have more than one car now .been paid off since 2016 . Now I'm going to start up grade things .like the entire braking system. They dont like to stop at high speeds.
They do like tk stop at high speeds with the track key lol. Engine braking makes a world of difference for racing. Ive had mine for almost 5 years up to 62.5k. Love every minute of it. Enjoy the upgrade process

I will have to look into this for my 12. I also installed some electric cut outs to be able to quiet her down some when needed. Lol.
Highly highly highly recommend lol. How are the electric cutouts? Ive heard mixed reviews from friends
@@BrailsfordsRides I love them so far. Had them on for about 8 months with no issues. Fairly simple install. Hardest part is routing the wires up into the car for the switch, which I put inside the center console. I got the Granatelli Motor Sports 2.5'' from American Muscle.

Will exhaust shop cut off the resonators and add in a piece of pipe or just shorten the exhaust?
Thabks for watching Ace! The shop i went to added a piece to fill the gap. They have to in order to use the stock bolt points. Hey man I'm rooting for a Boss guy to win the covers. They look sweet!
Not at all tired of OEM sound with restrictor plate removed. maybe someday on resonator removal.
Best thing about having your car is you can make it what you want. If you like the OEM sound awesome, I just wanted a bit more grunt. Thanks for watching Scott. How many miles are on your car Sir?

I got a boss 302 gotta have it green and I love it. I hate the high pitch tone at high Rpm’s. This guy who lives down the street from me has a Green 2013 GT. He didn’t tell me a lot but his is loud and not just loud when stops on the gas or cars that deep sound all the way through. That’s what I’m looking for. He said he had and x pip and his mufflers seem like the factory. He was being all secretive about it like the douche bag he is. I figured he got headers to. He said it was a custom exhaust but I’ll give it to him it’s awesome. Doesn’t give that high pitch raspy sound at the high end. It’s just deep. It sound classic. He had a ghost cam tune on it at one point and it sounded like train. Like he drive past my house and it rattle the damn glass candle holders on my wall. It’s not that loud anymore but when he really gets on it, it doesn’t give that high pitch winding sound.
Yeah the fully forged boss motor makes a completely different sound than a GT
@@BrailsfordsRides it is different. I’ve always defend that even against this guy once. He’s kinda a hater. I was trying to be cool with him and get advice. More forged parts and etc. He was like what different seats and a manifold. Though not to much different. The Road Runner can handle a lot more power made to do it a lot longer and be more durable. Though before he had redone his exhaust it was similar when I didn’t use my track key. Mine was louder that I could tell. His had the crackle and pop to it. His doesn’t do it now. I don’t know what brand of of X-pipe was I’m leaning to it being off road with long tube headers as well. I don’t know what parts of his exhaust is custom though. He’s not dumb and he’s a pretty good driver too. His exhaust sound is consistent. I think some of its tuning and it’s matched up really good. The boss has an aggressive sound but it becomes more high pitch and less muscle car sounding. When he really gets on it it doesn’t lose that deep tone and doesn’t get raspy sounding. Some of the videos on here with boss get real close to it with the exhaust mods and tunes.
I know he had a ghost cam tune briefly, and that’s changing the the timing of some valves. I’m not a car genius or anything. I got my Boss in 2016 so this was probably around early 2017 and with either some or all I need to relook and not all information online is good said somewhere you would need cat deleted and off road mid-pipe. If I can hear him drive by sometime I’ll shoot you a link.
Keep the resonator in, it sound obnoxious and crappy
Some love it some hate it, I love the sidepipes resonators removed but I still have the over the axle resonators
