Great video. I have a wave plus. I like it but it was pricey. I also have a bibury pro. I would carry it everyday if it wasn’t so heavy and it had a pocket clip. I bought the smaller bibury to get the wave size but with thise exterior scissors. I didn’t like the hand feel with the edge from the 2 piece scales and the misaligned handle made me crazy. I just ordered a Gerber octane from Ali and I will see how it is when I get it. Always on the hunt for the perfect tool.
I totally understand you on that, wanting the perfect tool. I agree, the one with the misaligned part is annoying but i got use to it. This is why I tried going for the SQT (Not sure if the video posted yet) but I was not a fan either.
Basically what you are saying is that when you purchase a Leatherman, you’re paying quite a bit for the brand name. In some ways it’s a bit of a status symbol. There’s also a high degree of competition in the market, and none of the other brands have nearly the name recognition.
very true. But I think this will hurt the Leatherman brand in time. You can only get by for so long on a name. This would not have been so bad if they did not double their prices overnight. Their old prices, people would have probably still held on. The Wave Plus was $70 just about 4 years ago.
