    This is something I need to do. I still have an in tank pump and I watch my lift pump fuel pressure like a hawk. I only see 10psi which seems pathetic to what the Fass lift pumps put out. Nice vid man!

    i have a 2004.5 5.9L cummins i have done everything from checking fuel pressure when cranking because it starts very hard a lot of the time and then it will die when giving it any load driving every single time itll puff a little black smoke and die. I checked the oil for fuel and replaced the FPRV on the rail with a block off. I have a $1200 scanner and turned off all injectors one by one they all make a difference when shutting each one off. Once the truck finally starts i get 6500ish-7300ish PSI of fuel pressure. I believe i get zero when it doesnt want to start as if the lift pump maybe isnt working only reason i think that is because i hooked a mechanical gague to the rear of the fuel filter housing... the fuel pump by the block was deleted or whatever they call it... Not completely sure i just have the fuel filter housing and a lift pump in the tank or whatever they call it. It does idle a little rough but no white smoke from exhaust and it gave me code for too much fuel pressure p0088 and i just dont wanna throw expensive parts at it so im wondering if anyone could help me out? ill be checking back often to see what everyone thinks....

    Hi there from Brazil.
    Best channel out there.
    Quick question: got a 2016 RAM 2500 Laramie and FCA did a recall of the water pump and the dealer exchanged the pump and filled 50/50 with, I believe with the proper anti-freeze AND water (tap water). How bad is that? Average temps. here are average 23-27 C, coolest days 10-15 C. We DON’T have distilled water here, I guess mechanics here don’t even know about it.
    Hope you spot me and answer soon.

    I mounted a Holley Blue on the frame rail just in front of the tank... hard wired/switched it via relay - now looking to switch the relay via ECM.
    From what i understand ECM doesn't like more than 5Amp draw (Like the stock pumps front or rear do. Mine had both 'cept the wire to the intank is dead and front is live. weird... anyways) more than 5+ amp melts solder in ECM, So thinking of ECM triggered relay with a resistor(No spike back to ECM) between the coil terminal 85(-Neg) & 86( +pos) both from ECM because ECM needs to see a simulated pump draw to get rid of code DTC 0230 - TRANSFER PUMP CIRCUIT OUT OF RANGE.
    Anyways "thanks for the laugh" :)

    • @coltonchristman2070
      @coltonchristman2070 5 лет назад +2

      Assuming you mean 6th injector line. Anywho the truck can start and run on cylinders 1 through 5. It just misses like crazy. If the lift pump is completely dead then you need to worry more about the injection pump. If the truck was driving when the lift pump died, your injection pump might be dead. A new vp could easily run 2k dollars. A fass ddrp 02 is about 300 and a new injector line is I think 100. So realistically if you get the truck for 2k max it might be worth it. But you gotta look at miles, interior and exterior condition. Since it doesn't run you can't determine how well the trans shift, or if the 4x4 works or how well the front end and steering is. You can't even check for blowby. Sounds like a junk parts truck to me

      One of those things where if I wash every piece of equipment that comes in I would have an environmental disaster on my hands. Can't do it.

      Agreed. All of our floor drains go into a holding tank that has an oil separation system in it. If you wash every truck that comes thru the door outside in the stones. Then in 10 years you will have black dirt. Epa would have a field day.

    I've been looking into upgrading my factory lift pump with a mechanical lift pump called the Fuel Boss by Glacier Diesel Power. I was wondering if you had any experience with this pump or knew anything about it?
    Here is a link if anyone else is interested in a mechanical lift pump for a 24v Cummins.
