Can I make a BMG Guitar look more like the Red Special?

- Hello there,
In this video we look at something a little bit different on the podcast
Can I modify my cheap secondhand Honeyburst BMG Guitar to look more like my Guyton Guitars Timewarp Red Special - the ultimate Red Special Replica.
My aim was to make whatever I made reversible, so I needed to use the original hardware the BMG came with and just alter the plastics to make the guitar look more like the Red Special. How do you think I got on? I know I didnt add strings and that is because I have a future idea to mod the guitar a touch more. More on that soon..

Good video Jon Underhill and thank you for the shout out. The hue on that BMG Special variant is much more authentic than ye olde antique cherry.
Your more than welcome Doug. It’s why I prefer collaboration work. You get lots of people with different input and ideas. It’s good to set out what you want to achieve when you set out too
@@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcastmine has the burns tri sonic brian may pickups in body mounted like you would a home build with the bridge pickup sitting on foam like the original. their covers were beaten flat again after years of use. i too have the switch plate etc plus Woody's parts an proper red special tremolo arm.
I actually like that golden hardware!
It’s not too bad is it?
@TheRedSpecialGuitarPodcast perhaps you should keep it with this one! Also the tuners... it makes sense! Only the two knobs could be changed to a more original style, but I would like it in golden colour!
@@svenvermassen984 yes I agree. I have a Honey Burst as well. Although the stock goldish hardware looks really good on it, I'm replacing the stock Knobs and Strap Buttons with my 24K gold-plated Replica Knobs and Buttons. Actually plated 24K gold! I am also replacing the stock cast saddles with my chrome-plated brass 'Andy Summers' Saddles. But I have to agree...the gold really makes it POP!!!
I’m lack,have the cherry,but like that bling
How cool! Can’t wait!
Hyped!
