While we get about 30 fps less on average Ultra takes up to 10 % more workload while GPU's workload decreases by up to 10 %. GPUs power consumption also drops even if not much if you take substantially lower CPU power consumption (compared to non-Ultra units) you can cut your energy bills quite a bit. 20 % fps drops with considerably lower power consumption is a win in my book taking current power pricing into consideration. You can still comfortably play games knowing your next power bill (next year, depending how your provider calculates your consumption) will be lighter. Some with their parent's money/loaded with cash, are blindly/dead set on highest performance. But gamers with tight budgets should think about switching to Ultra branch.

Apparently recent updates have increased gaming performance by up to 20% in some titles. Still slower than a 9800x3d of course, but you get the slightly higher compatibility rating with some programs going intel and the 265k is about $100 CAD cheaper than a 9800x3d and in stock in my area.

Ram speed is too low for the 265k to truly come into its element. Based on testing it’s recommended to run at least 7200mhz ram with it despite intel saying the max that chip supports is 6400mhz
Dont forget the 265k cpu running at 5.2ghz as opposed to the rated 5.5ghz turbo. The 14700k is locked at it's turbo speed, why wouldn't you do the same for the 265k?
I think you can add items the displayed data from CPUZ or Aida64 to MSI afterburner, I used to know how to do it- If you search for it its pretty easy to do - wish I could remember more.
