It’s easier to make a hatch out of marine plywood, paint it and put the EV over the top. Also you could have resealed the edge of the glued areas with lexel or 5200 or put down stainless steel screws with eyelets proportionally spaced. This will keep the EV from turning up which it will eventually do if left outside uncovered. Looks good.
Grab yourself a can of 2x gloss white spray paint.. Spray some in the cap and use a tiny brush to touch up the deck paint. Armor-all any black surfaces and wheels as needed
Wise 8WD95 Deluxe series Pontoon bench 28" WIDE set cushions only. Located on Amazon. Grey/Navy/Blue $200.17. Okay, measure from inside wall near shifter to end of storage well. Will it need to be moved over, and how much? Visualize how this will work. You will mount the upper seat to wall rear deck wall, and mount the bottom cushion to storage step. You might want to strip off 1/2 height of that rubber around the storage compartments, so as to have a more level tight mounted bottom section seat. Take into account, you might not be able to access those storage holes, but sacrifice to have nice seats there. You have plenty of storage all over that boat. The cushion will likely overlap, and that's okay. Over 1/2 the cost of a Bass Cat seats... In between the seats should be okay enough for stepping up to the rear deck easily. I would go this route, on a budget..
Sea deck is the material. Southern cooler co is the company that custom ROUTES the material. It is all routed. Not laser cut. There are lots of companies out there that measure and send a cad drawing to southern cooler to do the cutting.
I have used the Amazon foam flooring on 2 boats holds up very well, a couple tips, you need to round cut your corners 90 degree angles tend to peel back easier from ware, tear, washing or wet decks. Second too late now, but even though it is peel & stick you need to hit it with some 3M heavy duty spray adhesive before applying it. Third tip hatch cove get a piece of High Density Plastic (HDP) and cut a hatch.
Epoxy works. Myself, I would use 3M 5200 marine sealant in white. It expands slightly so it form fits holes completely, cuts and sands good, holds paint/clearcoat fine. It's done now though, leave it epoxy and finish. Hot foot-nope. Good shifter and part of the money you save for a killswitch unit. Live well, guy below me suggests plexiglass and it happens my neighbor just covered his front and rear livewells in plexiglass. Looks great, thick enough to hold ya if you do step on it. His fish locker he made from scratch with cardboard as the form covering with fiberglass, all attached to the back of his leaning post with slide drawers above for some items like phones, etc. Lid with cardboard form, only has to hold up for the first layer of fiberglass. Going to be a sweet boat when done!
I did my boat in solid light gray. Carpet seam roller is a must for getting adhesive pressed down well. Also clean clean clean before laying. Also all razor blades aren't created equal. Buy quality brand and use straight edge to guide cut.
Check out bass pro shops extreme boat seats they are comfortable, affordable, and could match the colors of your boat then just make a console for between them.
Cover that existing live well lid on bottom side with vasoline, lay some glass on it, then build up on opposite side. Vaseline doesn't allow the glass to stick to the panel and it's an easy form/template
Windshield from Bass Cat, is $119. Thay have your model. Let's pray your trailer and Motor will be good. That motor under load is going to be the real test. Hope all works out for you! If both are good, you are in the clear, and all will be good from here on out!
i have a whole seat set but they are for a tracker model, new paid 600 for them at bass boat seats, im just not sure how they would work in the bass cat though?
The sea deck is textured in one direction so if u spin it 180 degrees the colors will match. Think of it like carpet if u rub it one way it stand up and gets dark and go the other way and it gets smooth and lighter colored. Same concept. I also went with the lighter color and wish I went darker it gets dirty quick but luckily cleans up easily.
If you want cheaper but also high quality seat I would suggest academy bass boat seats they are way cheaper but plz keep making these vids I love them keep up the hard work Yee Yee
This is the best bass boat makeover on YT. It's really coming together, nicely. Definitely try and build your own hatch. Though you might, might, be able to find one online from a boat salvage. There use to be one in Tampa we shopped at, before everyone had a website and they had all kinds of oddball stuff. Someplace like that might have a 22X14 lid or whatever that your dimensions are, color might not match but you can fix that. One last thing, the seats. I know you're trying to keep costs down, but don't look at it as spending more money on seats than you did the boat, look at it as not over spending the resale value. A grand for nice seats, might bring another 1500 on the overall resale. Maybe I'm sprinkling too much unicorn dust on it, but I know you've seen the prices on some of these used bass boats. Keep rocking you're doing great.
For the holes in the back, here is what I would do....I would drill and tap all the holes for set screws and put some epoxy in the hole and on the threads of the setscrew and screw that guy in below the surface. Follow up with marine putty and gel coat or some other marine paint. Overkill? Yes, but I like overkill. I hate doing the same job twice!
Thanks for the video! I just got a 99 Eyra, was wondering how you did the cockpit since the original carpet rises about 3 inches around the cockpit, thanks!
Nice job! Perhaps you can use some sort of wood , ie oak or some other hardwood to surround the rear panels that are too. Small. My 2 cents. Stain the wood or paint it black. Good job, John
The reason you have so much space between all those lids, the carpet that was on there filled most of those gaps. Given that, they are still on the smallish
Looking awesome! It’s nice to have some help from the S.O cause it really can get monotonous doing it by yourself. What color do you think you would of gone with now knowing whatcha do???
God everytime I see one of your videos I wanna bust out the go pro on my own project. Idc to make any kinda of money but would love to record the adventure.
Bump box huh? Iv only watched your rebuild videos but didn't know man. Congratulations my 6 month old Lil girl rebuilds the champion with me. Good times
🤣🤣🤣 no babies here. Rach was waiting for someone to see it. They get shipped to this house by accident from the old tenant that used to rent this house
If you contact BassGeek I think he can hook you up with the company to take care of your seat problems. Maybe at a good discount. Good luck with the Bass Cat.
@@TightlineTV awesome. How does it clean up? I’ve looked into the dark grey with blue stripes for my tracker and the dark grey with red for my ranger. Because I’m worried about the staining on the lighter color but the sun gets so hot here I liked the idea of the lighter grey for that purpose.
Lets be clear: You get what you pay for. The fake Seadek looks ok but I would not put it on an expensive yacht or even a quality center console such as a Boston Whaler or Everglades. Real Seadek is fully routed around all edges and looks perfect. It has a faux teak look. The cheaper stuff doesn't look or feel anywhere close to Seadek but it's better than carpet.
I gotta agree that marine epoxy is more for coating than filling. Either way, if it doesn’t work then the bilge and pump will catch and remove it. Then you just try something else. As an electrician I’ll admit I get a little crazy and snobbish when I see an install that wasn’t done how I would do it. But the truth is, as long as it’s to code, safe, and functions, then it’s going to be okay no matter what it looks like. So, I’m sure there are better options but get that damn boat done and on the water. That’s the real test in regards to what you have done. If she floats, runs, and catches fish, then what you did is okay. Remember, damn near anything can be fixed, repaired, or replaced. So if it doesn’t float, run, or catch fish, then you find out why and make that fix, repair, or replacement and move on. The goal here is to get that thing fishing, not make a series on a graduate level boat restoration program. Keep the progress going. Can’t wait to see that first fish brought over the side You folks east or west of grand island? What lake are you going to splash her in?
It would look better without that extra deck on the front and that would knock out a lot of weight too if it was mine I would do away with that part and keep the original in there it would look a lot better and I think your fiance or wife would like it too that way too it'll give her more walking room instead of having to climb up on that deck and walk around but that's your preference you know but if it was mine I would take that part out man and just put it over to the side and I enjoy watching it brother I can't wait until I see it in the water I got to see it in the water have a blessed night and be safe 🙏
Good video dude. Its coming along nice. i like the deck. affordable and it looks nice. i wish i had foam myself. I was thinking of adding a small piece of it over my carpet in the lower deck. can't wait to see it on the water🚤🚤🚤
A storage container with a lid if u don't use it for fish u can add ice and it's your cooler 😎 beer h20 ect voila good job pond hopper
adding some thickener like cabosil to that epoxy would have made filling those holes a bit easier lol

Big facts. I switched blades frequently. Prob used 15 total

Any way of making a multi ply plexi glass lid? Thick enough to step on. If you can find a single ply strong enough, it may also be see through.
Plexiglass
Do you mean like for the fiberglass form? Or just go straight plexi?
Yes straight see through.
@@TightlineTV you should make a clear epoxy lid add lights in the well so if you fish at night you can see them swimming around
love the series man. I love my old ranger, I’m sure you will love this thing when done!
I sure hope!

should of used fiber bondo. it works amazing. fill the holes with PL max then once hardened use fiber bondo over the top sand then gel coat.

Looked into Upholstery and it is more then the new seats! 😭
I love this series I just got my first prodject boat I am learning on the way aswell.
I'd like to see you make a live well lid. You could make a mold cast from the other lid.
Think I’m going to have to 😎

Bet they have boat seats 😂
you could get a shifter that gives you forward, neutral and reverse and put a hot foot in it for better control while driving
Make you a seat plywood and cushions
What about a kill switch on the ignition

Question? How slippery is the EVA when it's wet? TIA

Grab a used shifter on eBay.. Or marketplace
3m 5200 would have been an easier way of fixing the holes. It dries hard and is sandable. It's essentially just like gel coat.
I don't know what shape the transom is in. But if you have to fix it carboncore transom compound the greatest thing I've ever used!
Transom is solid right now.
These videos helped I’m about to put this floor on my budget baller party barge. Just curious you still drinking Busch?
Bud is that foam uv rated. If not it'll come apart after one season.
I've been callin em John Deere Beers or tractor beers. My favorite can thus far! (orange camo close second)

And then we can take it for a Rip Rip

Nice job....looks good!!!
Would use some edge bar thingy for the opening...
Your engine issues by the way are stator and trigger, it’s still a great and very much salvageable engine that I would keep!
Don’t forget a darker color foam would be hot.
How is it holding up dose it have 3m glue on back side
Don't spend the money on a hotfoot. Loving the build though. And that you include your mistakes. Top notch.
Thanks for sticking around!
can i use that flooring in wood .Paneling?
What's teh story with the engine.. It didnt sound like it was running on all 6 Cylinders... Did you water test it yet?
