- Did you know Fanta was invented in 1940s Germany because there was no more Coca Cola? Let's recreate the original recipe which was based on war time leftovers and scraps.

Invented in 1940s: 😃
By Germany: 💀
Yes, Adolf Goebbel-Himmler himself stood atop the cauldron chanting slogans into the drink as to hex the populace with undying loyalty (and immaculate sense of style)
All is well.
If I remember correctly the grocery stores Trader Joes and Aldis are also byproducts of Nazi Germany.
L'Chaim fits perfectly at the end of his video.
The best Germany tbh
I love the story of Fanta as well! The CEO of the German Coca Cola franchise, Max Keith was basically left all like ‘uhm, what now?’ after WWII started and the factory stopped receiving shipments from the US with the trade embargo. So, he decided to make the most out of it and they started coming up with drinks from leftovers of the leftovers as explained in the video and as Keith recalls. The name Fanta is surrounded by cool trivia too! It was the result of a brainstorming session, which started with Keith's exhorting his team to "use their imagination" (Fantasie in German), to which one of his salesmen, exclaimed"Fanta!". The drink was super popular and they sold 3m cans in the first year.
And Fanta is still a very nice refreshment to have 😌

I don't know why people find Coke refreshing? It does nothing to slake my thirst at all. The only use i have for it is in a Cuba libre.
Mainly though I drink tea or water.
fun video, not usually a fan of the 'Short Format' that YT is pushing, but you got a lot of info in there.
Yeah coke isn't refreshing at all, the taste is addictive though so on the rare times I drink it, it's to offset salty savory foods, never drunk on it's own. Orangina is hard to find here in the states but it's the bomb. When I was a kid and worked at a grocers that carried it, i'd always buy one after work.
I'm with you on the Orangina. It's amazing. Another favourite of mine is Lemon Soda from Italy. So delicious. A bit sweet but I like that.

As to coke it really is only with spiced rum tha I drink it, I just don't enjoy it on its own.

And if you're addicted making it yourself might actually be worth the effort since 2€ at spädi and people who lived in D actually miss it alot!
You got a hearth :) but the normal "club mate" has to be my all time favourite. Every time I am at a party the sight of a bottle delights me
Ingredients for half a liter of my yerba mate syrup:
- 0,7l water
- 1/2 cup of any yerba mate
- 350g sugar
- 8g citric acid
- the juice of one orange (or other fruit, like pomegranate)
Recipe:
- boil water to 70 degrees Celsius and brew yerba mate thoroughly
- filter the yerba mate with a strainer and pour the essence into a small pot
- add sugar, citric acid and juice
- boil and reduce until 500ml of syrup is left
- wait until it cools down and pour it into a glass bottle
Preparation of mate soda:
- mix with water in a ratio of 1:10
- carbonate! (you can also use bottled carbonated water)

Donnerwetter, das ist spannend! Meinst du, man kann das einreduzieren und zu einer Art "Sirup" machen, den man dann nur noch mit Selter aufgießen muss, wie sonst auch beim Sodastream?
Hoffentlich geht es dann
“invented by germany during world war ii” is a really convenient way of wording it
It was created as a substitute but in fact the Coca-Cola signed a contract with the US army to provide cokes to the soldiers and the creator wanted more profits so you can't just sell to the enemy when you're under contract so they made Fanta to sell in Germany
Not at all true, it was made by the Coca-Cola company because the trade ban to the German Reich from the allied nations prevented them from importing the syrup they needed to made Coca-Cola, so they had to source local ingredients for a new drink.
