That moment you realize Linus’s Dad recommend Linus to Danny so that he would have a mentor. Thus, earning college degree in thievery from one of the best in the business.
Ironically, it's the boldest and best of all of them. Just his goddamn name. I kinda want a business card like that---but obviously I'd have to be dope to begin with.
@@RedVenom1 many reason, but off the top of my head, from a character development perspective, the characters are so in sync with each other only 1 needs to do the talking and can read the body language of the other, and still know what he’s thinking. From an audience/cinematic experience the comedic timing of Pitt and Clooney is outstanding, two professionals at the peaks of their careers playing off the characters they developed, makes for a great viewing experiencing.
My favorite part about this scene is that not only does Danny lift the wallet, he puts his card as a replacement in Linus' pocket without him knowing. Perfect show-don't-tell of Danny's master level thievery skills.
To think that Linus is just Ocean's afterthought because he thinks Rusty thinks he needs one more crewmate, but ended up having the most important role throughout the whole trilogy with his family. Linus himself in Eleven, Linus's Mom in Twelve, Linus's Dad in Thirteen.
I disagree respectfully. In the first one to me the most important was the tech guy. He intercepted the call to the cops to get them in as swat, he also was the one that got them the casino cameras.
The music in all 3 the movies is so genius.. i've watched the movies so often but I still love them also because of the music.. it fits so well and it makes it iconic
Linus chose the moment when they would hit a bump on the train. Its common that hitting a bump that everyone shifts.and may collide temporarily. If you do that, you feel someone hit you and y'all just shake it off- you wouldn't feel the slight pressure of something sliding across you.
No. His nose was in his paper and his eyes never left it. And even if he had looked at him, the first thing he would've ever noticed was Linus's face looking him in the eye and apologizing---likely sufficient misdirection.
i'm not a movie director but i would not have shown Clooney's hand when he asks for the check. make it look like Damon lifted the ticket with Clooney's hand still on it
Years ago, when I watched the DVD, you actually did see Clooney's hand, just barely, just enough to watch Damon slide the tickets out from under his fingers. The shot is a little tighter on the RUclips video.
Daniel Ocean is a world class con man, I'm sure he would've noticed if Linus tried to pull the ticket from under his fingers. And plus, that's not how lifts work. You wait for your best shot at a smooth lift. Taking it from under his fingers is too risky. When he asks for the check, not only does he lift his hand off the ticket, he's looking away. Your approach is more "movie logic". Soderbergh's approach makes sense.
@@abab3050 very true. first time i saw this movie i knew Danny lifted his hand off the ticket, so I guess he's admiring Linus' ability to wait for the right moment, plan his strike, and then pull it off before Danny's fingers return to the table.
Mark Wahlberg was originally cast as Linus Caldwell in Ocean's Eleven, but Matt Damon played the role instead. The two later worked together in The Departed.
Man. Since some of cast members of the movie are dead, I wish to see new characters in crew e.g. Robert "Bobby" Caldwell, François Toulour / The Night Fox, Terry Benedict, Isabel Lahiri, Tess Ocean, Gaspar LeMarc
I have always hated that scene. They try to tell us that he nicked it from under "Clowney´s" hand but why would we think that when we clearly see him raising his hand and vision from it, and you can also he Matt taking it, then a stupid zoom on his hand like it always was there. Feck me old granny could do that move. Would been better that Matt decline him and they went there own way and we see Clowney checking his pockets for the wallet/tickets then we see a surprising smile, acknowledged us that he knows that Matt is on ! Feckin stupid scene !
It's choppy on purpose. If you look closely, the location text moves normally. It was meant to be choppy so we get a frame by frame of Linus pickpocketing the guy.

Funny because Linus was scared shitless that Benedict would tell Bobby about the heist in oceans 12
Doesn't hurt that Linus' dad is also Super Dave.

Best part of the movie.
“10 oughta do it, don’t you think? You think we need one more? You think we need one more. Alright, we’ll get one more.”
Why is it so good?

Damon got the Jason Bourne role right after this movie

Linus' parents would have been involved regardless if Danny or Rusty called them
When your parents are so good, their both FBI agents .
Who want their son to be a thief 😂

The hat Matt Damon is wearing features a picture of the hat, which includes a miniature picture of the hat-to infinity.
No,it stopes after 2 caps.
"Jesus Christ it's Linus"
Get in the God damn house.
Ricky Poon You're Bobby Caldwell's kid huh?
One of the best scenes in Ocean's 11
I pass by that pub all the time, at the corner of Grand and Milwaukee Ave.
You ever go in?
It got shut down in june 2022 :(
Ah, the legendary Danny Ocean!
Apex of all Smooth Operators, in the history of cinema.
Slick move by Linus but I find it hard to believe that the guy he lifted the wallet off of didn't notice Linus's hand lifting the wallet off of him.

Jason Bourne has joined the Ocean
So smooth.. all three movies.

When clooney asks for the check he lifts his hand up to signal to the waitress.

That grin.

I like the pool scene too where Rueben tells him to get the fuck inside

Yeah we got lucky with Matt.
I used to love this movie.
I still do, but I used to also.
Nice pull Danny ocean
What is this style of filming called, anyone know? It's like a mix between slo-mo and still shots?

Doug Ross returned to Chicago.
Wonder if he told Carol.
Danny oceans card color? That’s bone. And the font something called Silian Rail
why is this scene in like 4 fps
or is that just me
And yet they very few people got the name when the third movie came out!
That’s the origins of the Marvel On The Run kit got started from.
See The Winter Soldier.

Iron Man 3.
Ant-Man and The Wasp.

the lift wasn't that big a deal. Danny took his hand off the ticket and that's when he took it. Just a case of not paying attention.
