Archy, I appreciate your good intentions in feeding stray dogs, but wouldn't you accomplish more by volunteering at or contributing to an animal shelter? But I am happy for you that you made the most out of your birthday.

Unfortunately no.. the Indians took up bagpiping from their colonial masters back a few hundred years ago.. nothing like the sound of true, ancient Celtic bagpipes. Not even close.

I very much understand the feeling of birthday in quarantine as I celebrated mine end of March stuck inside without family or friends visiting. My wife and I also have missed our wedding anniversary due to quarantine so it has been very long and tough few months. Having those special event days over zoom just wasn't quite the same.

Archy, I just recently found you here on RUclips so this happy birthday is only 2 years late. My birthday is also in April on the 5th so we have that in common. It is said Aries are passionate, creative and stubborn. I prefer creativly stubborn myself. This comment is really about feeding the street dogs. Even though I live in America, my favorite animal charity is Animal Aid Unlimited located in northern India. I often donate handmade items they can sell to raise funds for food, emergency medical treatments, and maintaining a safe compound for all species they rescue from the streets. Happy Birthday! I'm glad your family was able to find a way to celebrate with you. Here in the USA "Mother's Day" was May 10th, and usually my adult son takes me out for dinner, or just comes to my house to cook for me (he's a very good cook). Instead, he and his wife and some other people we know visited with me on Zoom. I could have pretended we were having dinner together, but I have no way to put the video camera in the kitchen/dining room. So we just chatted and it was pleasant. I bake and decorate cakes for people, and on their birthdays I try to make something that's meaningful to them, and I wonder if I could make a birthday cake that looks like your bagpipe. (I have no way to ship it to India, though.) Anyway, enjoy whatever you can, and keep dancing!

Sorry to be commenting so late . I had a quarantine birthday also , my wife and I got our grandson (we are raising two) out of ICU the day Canada shut down , and we self isolated for three month's , already had 6 months of supplies laid in . So we hardly saw another human till August. So for my birthday I weeded garden, picked berries, helped plant roses , made a couple bowls on my lathe , took the dogs cat and wife's bull for a walk in the bush to find more wood turning materials. Had some friends come over for a socially distanced hot dog roast after dark , in short did all the things I like , it was great
My State (Georgia in the US) has been in the process of opening up for a month now. It doesn’t effect me as I have to avoid people and wear a mask due to cancer treatments. My birthday on May 19 is also my wedding anniversary, and I got to spend it with my wife and daughter. Life is good!
My twin kids just turned 13 during the quarantine. They had a birthday parade where fire department and police, friends and family drive by the house. They throw candy and stop with gifts and such.

It was quiet but a calm day(s)- my husband has brain cancer but able to be home, so on his, and us all, we had cake and a fun dinner (delivered - hubby can't drive, or son yet) but it was 1st time we had delivery! : ) I lit a candle on each of our birthdays next to a picture of each of us back when we were babies! I believe too, that birthdays, whether of child or parents is very special and I like to recall happy memories. All of this lockdown has been tough ... (we have a ferrel we take care of here! so she had a little special snack too!) ... but tough with husband not feeling to good. But all our birthdays were happy-though quiet here ~ very Happy Birthday to you, and may all this lockdown end soon, and people well and happy again!! : ) Keep your music always in your heart, and wishing you all the best!
