    Great video! I'm going to share this with my Spanish III students this week as we are learning about the beauty of South American and some of the outdoor activities people do there. Thanks so much for putting this online!

    Thanks for the video! It helped me plan my trip. I visited both sides last week (Feb 29-Mar 2 2024). Entrance fee at the Argentinian side was 20,000 pesos (~21 USD) - it can be paid by Visa/Mastercard/American Express or cash. "Garganta del Diablo" (Devil's Throat) is closed since 3 months ago - there was an overflow and they need time to repair the walkways. Brazilian side costs 100 Reals (also ~21 USD) and it can be paid in cash on a booth or using machines if you prefer cards. And speedboat trip at the Argentinian side cost me ~62 USD.

      Awesome glad to hear that! And thanks for sharing the updated information with everyone. The prices are constantly fluctuating, so I'm sure that information will be helpful to others.

    2:55 This thing isn't an animal, it's actually an insect (moth): Megalopyge albicollis. These larvae (which is the form you're seeing it in) are actually dangerous. They look soft and poofy but underneath they have thorns for protection and it can cause you to have some severe skin reactions.

      If my middle school Biology teacher was correct, an insect (moth) IS an ANIMAL.

      @@perfesser944 You're right. I just was reading and typing too fast. I was thinking mammal, which insects diverted from a long time ago. It *is* an animal... arthropod...
      Good catch and kudos to your middle school biology teacher :)!

    The most important thing mentioned by the lady in the video is "a site that you must visit at least once in your lifetime". Prepare to be overwhelmed by the sheer beauty and raw power of the falls. If you have the wherewithal to do it, GO THERE!

      I have been there in October last year when there were 23 million litres of water a second going over the falls and last April with 1.3 million per second, although it is more awesome with the extra water, both were incredible. We had better weather in October, with clear skies, but it seems that the sunshine brings out additional visitors and it can get a bit crowded in the pinch points. And although it was more overcast in April and we had a small shower, it made it far more comfortable to move about, there is a lot of walking and climbing steps involved, there were also far more butterflies

    Did you vaccinate for yellow fever?

    • @TheNomadNextdoor
      @TheNomadNextdoor  7 месяцев назад +1

      I did not however I wish I had, as I wanted to travel to neighboring countries who required the vaccine to enter.

    • @30EWELINA
      @30EWELINA 7 месяцев назад

      Thank you. We will be in that jungle area only for a day and contemplating if we should get the vaccine as it costs $300 per person plus the visit. Or mosquito repellent should be enough.
