​@@pacificostudiosyep, i believe it was the boer war in South Africa that changed the British army doctrine. They combined cover fire and high rate of fire, and fighting at night. Which obviously the Americas didn't have the high rate of fire during the revolutionary war.
I watched two RUclips videos once on the boar wars.

@@JasonHenderson - In the Zulu War, like at Rorke's Drift, the British were still wearing their bright red uniforms, but tucking behind cover while reloading their Martini-Henry rifles. But yes, by the Boer War, the British were in khaki.

I found the boer wars interesting because the boers had the funding to buy modern German rifles that could out compete the British. but they were also rural farmers who kicked the shit out of the British with tactics

This is only barely satire. The British lost because of some archaic rules about how warfare is supposed to be fought by armies marching in lines but then the Americans denied that and actually hid in bushes and trees while the British continued to march in a straight line as instructed from their higher ups. Imagine if modern wars were fought like that but with machine guns and automatic weaponry.

None of this is at all accurate. The American Revolutionary War was won largely on the back of domestic turmoil in Britain and France taking on considerable expensss to run interference on British trade.
It was a matter of trade being easier for the British by simply letting the Americans have it than investing further years and resources into the Revolutionary War when at the same time their other colonial interests were much better investments.
There was no major tactical advantage from the American side, in fact the war was a series of terrible disasters propped up by Prussian and the aforementiomed French suppurt until the American forces could get the very equipment, tactics, and doctrine you claim in your historical equivalent of a wive's tale only the British engaged in.
