The mail may have been sent when his son was born. And he had to go before that. Like she wa sin her 4-5 the month and he was sent to war.
Birth isn't guaranteed. There is such a thing as miscarriage.

Jeremy with the perishable food was incredible. I was dying bc of his face when he almost threw up. Also, it was nice to see someone finally tell the physical similarities between Chaplin and Hitler in a funny way.

@@The_Murder_Party FDR actually made it a point to get german speakers into as many top positions as possible, so it wouldn't be too strange. I know he isn't in a top position, but there were quite a few german speakers on the allied side.

There’s loads of vets in the US who were sentenced to child support payments for failing to show up to defend themselves in court, often to women they never met that got pregnant while they wren’t in the country.
It’s an established strategy to name a deployed soldier as the father for an automatic win and regular payouts.
I don’t know if anything has yet been done about it.

if you guys are wondering, that ending did actually happen in real life. when hitler was still young, some foreign soldier spared his life and so hitler believed it was destined for him to survive and do something great because god saw it fit for him to live

This sketch is hilarious when you can just sit back and enjoy the acting, but it takes a real serious note when you stop to contemplate that there were very likely people in the war who weren't acting. I hope we can all appreciate the life we are allowed to have because of the life that others were forced into letting go.

This is one of studio C's best ever sketches.
Right up there with "weighty matters" "rebel hr" "international relations" and "justice league equality"
This takes place 8 months after August 15 (1:45) so this is set in April and the beginning says that they're in France during 1944. Therefore, these soldiers made it to continental Europe 2 months before D-day! No wonder their mail was so backed up!

Even years later, watching this, I still go "aw" at the part Matt saw his baby pictures and then proceeded through the rest of the sketch with the pictures in his hands until the time he was about to read the letter for Jeremy. He really was into the proud papa character. 🤧

Except. at 1:43 Jeremy reads the jury summons for the month of August. Jeremy exclaims that was eight months ago. Meaning that this is set in April. The Messerschmitt Me 262 jet wasn't introduced until June 30, 1944.
futureblue49 Don't forget, when they were talking about the mail, Jason said it had been 6 months for the mail, when the official said it had been almost a year, clearly showing that they had lost track of time. So, Jeremy could have meant that it was AROUND 8 months. Also, the time between August 15 and June 30 is 46 days, so not that big

Jeremy is actually one of my favorite people on the cast
I love how Studio C add the Henry Tandey reference at the end of the sketch, Henry is a British soldier who hold the lever of preventing WW2, he had Hitler at gunpoint but failed to shoot Hitler, due to Hitler injury after the skirmish he decided to spare the man who he didn’t know is the WW2 fire starter. Many years later after the incident, Hitler want to personally thanks Tandey for sparing his life. Brilliant script lads, love the work as always
