It's been quite a while since I did a speed paint! Lately I'm trying to find a cuter, small chibi style. I have a lot of work to do. I notice my heads are too damn big, lol. Gotta work on that.
Anyways! These are newer OCs from myself and my partner in crime, Rieka. A 31-year-old couple, these two act like teenagers in love and yet still hold their adultly aura about them. Airi is a woman who tries to hide her easily embarrassed nature and Sano is a man who know just exactly~ how to treat a lady.
These aren't their default clothing either. OTL I made them totally off the top of my head while still tired and running on very, very few hours- or hour, I can't remember- of sleep. So excuse the lack of creativity and bad color schemes, LOL.

She's using Paint Tool SAI, so if you have that, then step one is done. She's also using a regular layer and the pen tool. If you want it to be thinner at the tips, change the "min size" box to zero! C: For this effect, you'll also need a tablet if you don't already have one. ; v ; Hope that was helpful.

1) you need a drawing tablet. its the pressure you put from hard to soft as you stroke
2) click the pen / brush or any tool you want to put a size depending on how much pressure you put and open advanced settings (just above the brush sizes at the bottom) and click the box beside the "size" at the bottom.

To all the people who say "Why is the lineart like that" or something like that, You need to use a tablet to make the lines thinner, the more pressure you put onto the tablet, however you can do the same effect if you're using lineart layers, and increase or decrease the the line with the "pressure" tool

@JTHMShmee 1. You can set the transparency using the slider above the layers.
2. Do you mean the blueish color? That blue color is the color of the select field (or whatever you want to call it). You can magic wand within a certain area and it will be blue. Then you can fill it with whatever other color you want.

Uhm she/he used the pen tool there. I have a tablet with pressure sensitivity, and if I do my lineart in strokes, (like not sketch but one straight line) the end usually gets thinner. The stabilizer does help a lot also. It should be at the top of SAI right above the canvas area. If you put it higher it will slow down your strokes and can sometimes help make lines thinner! You're going to need pressure sensitivity as well. Hope I could help!

:> Change the "opacity", it's located above your layers. It's a gray bar that says "Opacity" to the left of it, and above it is another bar that says "Mode" and that says normal!

If you click and drag the corners of the selection then it'll change the size depending on how larger or smaller you make the box

To get a nice stroke like you are describing, you need to have a drawing tablet, and pen pressure.

I tried that with my tablet (Wacom Intuos3), but the lines are still the same width at the tips. Do you have to use the Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet to get the effect?

I'm not the maker of the video, but I'm pretty sure it's just the pen tool with pen pressure. Like..the harder you press on your tablet with the stylus, the thicker your lines.

Make a specific layer for the glasses, and then change the layers opacity.

My guess was the glasses were made on a separate layer from the rest and Puka lowered the opacity of the layer =3
