The Turbo-exclusive Madden was quite an impressive bit of work back in 1993, largely due to it being the first Madden game ever released on CD. And while this Madden might not have been an EA game, Hudson certainly knew what they were doing here.
I never had the TurboGraphx-16 CD 💿 System. I really miss my regular TurboGraphx-16 however. The Bonk series was very charismatic, goofy, fun, exciting, stoopid-fun, and just a comical thing that I enjoyed immensely! Thanks for these past games, I really enjoyed these!
Funny how you posted this because every year we have a big game at my house where two of my friends who are good at football games square off with this game. It isn't happening this year as my turbo duo stopped working, but this is a great game with friends. The only downside is that the game tends to slow or completely stop when a cutscene is about to display so there is never a verge for a rematch. Still, it's enjoyable game to watch even if I suck at football.
Its cause the sega cd had a 64 color limit same as the genesis so videos look like shit. The turbo cd wasnt as powerful as it didnt add additional processors but the higher color count made up for it when it came to fmvs. Turbo cd can barely do fmv without the super system card to add more ram.
You look at Madden Football nowadays and while this looks primitive, it really had it's charming aspects. I can remember having the Sega Genesis games of every Sports game that EA released. Back then, these were EPIC GAMES! I will say this, the Retro classic games from the days of the Nintendo NES, Super-NES, Genesis etc. are fun to watch and play. However the Retro sports games, haven't really held up nearly as well. That's NOT to say they are bad or unplayable, not at all! But I'd rather play Mario, or Streets of Rage, Bonk's Adventure, or something like those games as opposed to Madden 92. But again they are a great look back at the past. But sports games are the only games that I actually still like. EXCEPT that weak EA Sports buy packs of virtual Football cards? Really? Just another pathetic cash grab and THAT ANNOYS ME!

Wow, that is some smooth FMV playback.
Hey, look! It's Madden '93 for the TurboGrafx-16 CD. These FMV scenes do look great, but the actors in them are hilarious.
0:11 - Hey, everybody! Do the Madden!

Why does this game's FMVs look better than what typical Sega CD FMVs look like?
Because Hudson knew how to exploit their hardware much better than Sega did in many cases :D
That's pretty nifty.

Lol Nintendo complete rooting for philly. What’s funny is your score came close to the actual Super Bowl. 44/41
The PSG music that plays during the FMV intro and ending is quite good. It'd be nice if there was a clean rip of it somewhere.
RIP Mr Madden
This isn’t Madden 08.
This Video Is So Super Duper Awesome
Brilliant
This is supposed to be an NFL game but the FMV looks like High school football.
I bet anyone that actually bought this thinking it was going to be featuring fmv of John Madden and NFL players was probably a bit pissed off.
Ah yes push the center onto your side of the field so you can sack the quarterback best play in football lmao
Oh boy, oh gee. Why can’t these things start growing on trees?
[:nh]I'm gonna eat a pizza. [:dial67589340] Hi, can i order a pizza? [:nv]no! [:nh]why? [:nv] cuz you are john madden![:np]
