@@deadvikingtrolls well it’s meant for law enforcement use. So although it needs to be able to handle regular cutting tasks it needed to be able to be used as one as well. It not having a choil though doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a weapon or not. Spyderco earlier designed knives didn’t have choils and this was designed relatively early in the company’s career. As an officer I don’t know if I would choose a native 5 over the police model but for an edc as a regular citizen I can see that
@@TheUnknownEdge Choils don't cut very well is why I have that idea. But I agree, no choil is better on a knife that may be used that way. I'm partial to the Native 5 but the Police may serve you better if you're police.

That it's missing a choil tells me it was meant to be potentially a weapon. Strange to see a Spyderco without a choil. Native 5 is better.
