The linked Service Bulletin is for tractors built after 1995. Model 725 hasn't been in production since 1994. For tractors built before 1995, you need Service Bulletin 2-4, here: s3.amazonaws.com/bcs-america/manuals/Service_Info_2-4.pdf All of our Service Bulletins can be found on our website: bcsamerica.com/service-information Hope this helps!
@@omcdude64 This service bulletin only lists tractors and the engines with which they were originally sold. We did a little research to figure out what you'd need with your tractor: The original clutch on model 725 was rated for up to 9hp. If you're 725 still has the original clutch and you've converted to a 9.5hp Kohler engine, the HD clutch you need is part number 59247573. These are readily available. Give us a call and ask for the service department if you have further questions: 1-800-543-1040. Thanks!
can you immobilize the engine shaft by stuffing a starter rope in the spark plug hole ?
Yes, that should work fine.

We'd recommend a local engine shop. There are a lot of things going on here.

@@BCSAmerica thank you again.
And why is this cone shi* better than pinion key? We have a lot on problems since new.
The taper lock provides a much more secure connection, rather than a single set screw. Set screws can be a real pain to remove and can break.
And why is there a groove on shaft?
