Thanks alot sir, but I have a question, why do not you clean the clutch with sand paper to get smooth? . And I have one is hard in hand, what can I do with it please?. Thanks
Thank You Sir on an excellent video .I own a Lombardini 6ld360 ,and inside my cone clutch I found 9 small springs instead one big,the cone is a bit rusty same like Yours ,can I polish the metal cone with finest grit water sandpaper? I also found some decomposed fabric like felt all over inerior of the clutch, perhaps it was some felt seal for oiling the springs?
Hi Joel , your too far away to do anything for my 605 , but can I pick your brain? Mine has the multi plate clutch , and on removing the engine only the plate attached to the engine shaft came off the machine, do I need to remove the nut on the centre of the clutch and use a puller too remove the rest? Under the actuator , Diolch yn fawr iawn
Good video showing what an owner is up against when the clutch had issues .But I would like to see how the whole thing is put together on a unit. From engine, clutch ,transmission ,drive differential, axle shafts ,wheels . Are there exploded drawings available complete with dimensions ,part numbers ? This would be what I need to have even before I consider buying any piece of equipment . I made mistakes in the past by just trusting salesmen and ended up with a pile of junk or parts that don't interchange due to design revisions which make certain parts obsolete and hard to find . That is the deal breaker for me . And the transmissions variables are yet another issue . Like so many things that are produced ,in their development ,they go through growing pains until they master the perfect design which their product becomes renown for durability ,longevity ,serviceability .Until they start cheaping out on their metallurgy and the whole thing becomes yet anther disappointment . That is what I'm up against ,so until I can sit down around a camp fire and listen to all the stories ,newer isn't always better .
Joel, In 2019 you sent me a generic replacement clutch which was 150.00 ( a new BCS clutch would have been 285.00) The item number on my invoice is "BCS 592C1012 AFT " when the bearings in this clutch fail can i sent it to you to have new bearings put in like I could with the old one ? Also when I look in the femaie side of the new clutch ( which i am about to put in ) I see the washer inside is off center and I can see a 1/8 moon shaped gap on one side of the washer .Is that normal ?
hi there i have a question my rototiller bcs 725 the cutch was working fine till i take the engine out when i put back the engine my rototiller don't stop keeps moving? plz if u can help me
It does not come apart...according to the factory. However, we made a jig to get them apart, and we've been taking them apart and servicing them for years. You can send the clutch to us, and we will rebuild it. Cost is usually between $60 and $100 depending on what it needs, which is way better than the $275+ BCS charges for a whole new clutch. www.earthtools.com
I wish I had a "bolt-together" rather than the newer style clutch. I suspect my ($8.00) inner throw-out bearing is junked. BCS's advice...buy a new ($800.00 canadian) clutch.
Thanks Joel,I have old BCS 725 tractor cca 1991 y made ,Ithink,Why is my clutch pretty hard on first preess after tractor stay after 3weeks .after first hard press she go normal press but not separate good .must I replace all, or do like you on your video ?(change barrings etc) Thanks Joel best regards
It sounds like your clutch is "sticking" when the machine is not in use. This can be corrected by locking the clutch lever on the handlebar in the "squeezed" position when your machine is NOT being used. (If your machine does not have a lock for the clutch handle built into it, you can hold the lever in the "squeezed" position with a loop of rope, wire, etc.)
Excellent job - both informative & thorough & without getting off the point. How these videos should be done
this seems like an excellent design, much better than a clutch plate for this application
great video joel. its no wonder you're a sucessful bussiness guy. have always enjoyed talking to u on the phone. so helpful and knowledgeable.
Thanks Joel. I would enjoy watching you open up one of the new cone clutches just because I'm always curious how they are held together. Thanks
