@@KeyserTheRedBeard I prefer to rush in and slam the brakes nice and close. That usually stops the cannons from firing ... But only at world events like active forts! In other situations where skellies are just shooting cannons I'll try to find a bind spot on the island where I'm out of range. 😃
You can fish for battlegill at K9 island if the Battlefor the Sea of Theives is active. So long as you hear the battle music you’re good. The skeleton ships don’t normally go that far and will leave you alone.
I'm going to be honest its easier to just get Pirate Legend then gold skull thing activate FOTD scuttle the ship and fish of the row boat that you found randomly. On average i get about 40 to 60 fish if no one tries to get the fort but if someone does the fort the average might go down sugnificantly range from 10 to 20 this is if they take forever. But most people avoid the fort that has no ship since I'm always suspected to being a tucker but once they see my crate full of goodies they understand and sometimes give me a ride to the nearest see post because remember you scuttled the ship. When i do that i take all the supples from my ship put it in the rowboat and give it to which ever crew will give me a ride or helps me the most lol.
@@SnipeRare Sounds like you're talking about starting up a FotD specifically, but you don't need to do all that just to get an active fort to fish at. There are regular skeleton forts, the skull clouds with the green eyes, that start without any skulls. Those can happen on their own as a server event -or- you can Dive to a Raid on a Skeleton Fort (if your level is high enough). No multi-flamed skulls for those. You've been lucky with hitching rides! That's good to hear. I tend to get fish thieves! 😆
@SnipeRare The regular forts don't expire as long as there's a boat within the area. I've fished for over an hour without once leaving my boat. When I did, I took a rowboat away and back. Fort was still active. I think maybe yours did because you scuttled? Not sure as I didn't do it that way. 😉
@SnipeRare oh for sure! Yeah, I only recommend this method on Safer Seas, and this is the only fish I'll even go to SS for. Although, the new changes coming for SS will at least make selling fish better (but the new renown cap is rough)

Had a guy fishing these while I was doing my 25 FOTD push.
@@ChristopherCDaniels definitely possible to get some that way, but guaranteed to be interrupted. I doubt he got all 210! 😆
