At last liberated from Bormio by a tremendous ride up and down Stelvio. Great as always. Still I prefere ascending from North to South. And we should believe the story it was 24/7 365 occupied with "cantoneers"to privide free passage to the Emperor removing snow etc) Can you imagine going this route by a horse drawn coach? I can not by car it is already a challenge. while there were several alternatives to travel from Vienna to Milano all year around
