It was a little strange b/c it was reported that the guard who was supposed to be supervising them left the 2 gentlemen alone. It was also reported that Dahmer did not fight back and just accepted to his fate. Also, the gentleman, Tracy who escaped and what led to Dahmer getting caught was not gay. He apparently was approached by Dahmer to make some money to model for some pictures as Dahmer claimed he was a photographer or a photography student. Tracy testified that he accepted it was b/c he needed the money.
Evan Peters plays Dahmer. Another Netflix series called American Horror Stories (also made by Ryan Murphy) is an anthology series (each season is a different subject) which features a lot of the same actors in different seasons. Evan Peters is a stand out for sure. In one season he played 6 different characters (including Charles Manson) and took a well deserved break the next season. His acting is outstanding.
slight correction. The victim who was at Dahmers apartment when Dahmer was caught wasn't gay. He was offered $100 to do photos. He only agreed to accompany Dahmer because he needed the money.
Well he said he wasnt sure if he wanted to do it or not. He went ahead & went with Dahmer to his apt to hang out/have some drinks & his 2 friends he was with when Dahmer approached them were supposed to meet him over there later on but Dahmer gave them the wrong address
I remember stumbling onto the Dahmer story years ago and I’d never heard of him. Couldn’t believe what I was reading especially kid who got handed right back to Dahmer by the police and the part where his dad nearly found the head in the box….I was up all night reading about it all
My mom worked a couple blocks away from dahmers apartment and would walk by his place daily. Wild stories she’s told me. His apartment is now torn down but there’s a small sign in milwaukee where it used to be
Really loved Evan Peters in this. Also, there are other Dahmer movies if your interested: One is My Friend Dahmer (mentioned in the video) with Ross lynch and an older movie called DAHMER with Jeremy Renner as Dahmer.
My brothers friend lived in his Apartment building, during all that, and my dad was a doctor assigned to the case. We have a lot of serial killers from Wisconsin. I don’t think he would’ve got the death penalty if Wisconsin had it. He was insane
Evan Peters plays Dahmer, he played in Deadpool 2 and the X-men movies as quicksilver and is also a lot of characters in the American Horror Story chapters
I was 14 living in Milwaukee when all this happened. I remember freaking out because he used to work for Ambrosia, a chocolate factory, so I never ate Ambrosia Chocolate again… the factory was torn down after all this happened.
I remember back in the day on Opie and Anthony. They had the lead detective come in for an interview while he was promoting his book. You all should listen to the interview. Anyone reading this comment. It was so sickening and shocking hearing this cop describe walking into the LOBBY of the apartment complex and being hit by a wall of the smell of the death. Then he describes how his partner at the time had a scuffle with Jeffrey in the apartment, the arrest, and the discovery of a fucking human head in the refrigerator. Beyond shocking to say the least
It's really sad but true that if the cops weren't involved, Konerak Sinthasomphone might still be alive. I appreciate those that genuinely tried to help him.
One thing they got right that kind of impressed me was the accuracy of little things. The buses did look like they do in the show in the late 80's, the milwaukee public transit symbol is right and even the scene at a bus stop has the bus stop number and route number correct for the street they were on. Minor things, but impressive that they did their homework. They could have easily just thrown anything in there, being such small details.
There is also a series coming up on Netflix titled "Conversations With a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes", which is his acutal interviews. Release date is Oct 7.
It really is a pretty fascinating series, even with its inaccuracies. If you guys like the true crime stories, I recommend on. Netflix “The Innocent Man”, which is a series that chronicles two murder cases that happened in Oklahoma in the 1980s. Author John Grisham (The Pelican Brief, The Client, The Rainmaker) even wrote a book about it by the same name. Definitely worth checking out. Also, for RUclips, I highly suggest the channel That Chapter. He does great at true crime storytelling in my opinion, and is worth the watch.
Ok, I have some odd ties to this story. I was a child when all this happened. I remember hearing about Dahmer becoming a Christian, because he had been doing Bible studies with someone from my church prior to getting baptized. Our church had decided that he wasn’t fully repentant and had refused to baptize him. So, he found someone else who would do it no questions asked. Years later working as a plumber I got called to do a job in the building next to where the Oxford Apartments building had been. I asked someone I was working with about the situation. It is rather eerie. It’s a vacant lot in a very densely built up area in a run-down area of Milwaukee relatively close to the Marquette University campus where his father had worked as a Chemistry professor.
John Wayne Gacy lived in my hometown until I was about 12 years old (other than a short stint in prison). During that time, a friend of my brother (Steve Kirchhoff) disappeared. Gacy moved to Chicago later that year. His case has never been solved.
HIGHLY recommend you recommend to the West Memphis Three, as they’re known. They’re my age, lived only a couple hours away, but a whole different life. Three “poor white trash” boys who were railroaded for the deaths of three 8yr-old boys, accused of Satanism, etc. It took lots of attention from celebrities-including Peter Jackson making the West of Memphis documentary, but they’re out, although still officially convicted killers. The Arkansas courts won’t look at the evidence that has come out since then, including DNA, bc there are political careers on the line now.
Dahmer's childhood home near Akron, Ohio was listed for sale a number of years ago. This was the site of his first murder in 1978. He killed hitchhiker Steven Hicks and buried his body in the woods on the property. Many potential home buyers lost immediate interest in the home once they learned of the former owners. It wasn't torn down like the Oxford Apts. in Milwaukee.
One of Dahmers residences was very near the Marquette University campus. I used to walk safety patrol and we would go past it occasionally. It was boarded up with a chain link fence and a sign that said it was going to be the future site of a child care facility. Pretty sure that part never happened. This was 4-5 years after he was caught.
They demolished the building. It was over by State St. by the Rave. My brother’s friend lived there during the whole thing. I looked for the building when I was driving years ago and it was gone
It’s generally both Nature & Nurture and the way one process trauma. At different degrees whereas in some cases nature is stronger than nurture and vice versa. Studied and strongly believe that genetics has a major part in where some people are predisposed to develop mental or personality disorders IF the right sort of trauma experienced at the right age. Basically someone may be genetically predisposed to becoming a psychopath but may never become so with proper upbringing. Sometimes even a good life couldn’t save someone from becoming mentally ill or psychopathic, where nature pulls stronger. The brain is so fascinating.
The guy that got away wasn't actually gay- Dahmer didn't meet him in a gay bar. He walked up to him and his friends hanging outside a work place. Watching him tell that story in court is a movie all by itself.

Should hopefully end with Season 9. Spader's a gem and I like his acting chops and the way he acts when he's doing a character with others, performing/onstage.
I watched the Netflix series on it and I came away thinking differently than I did before about him. Now, he was monstrous and what he did was God awful. But I did learn a lot that I didn’t know before. His mother was loony to begin with. What was the number of meds she was on while pregnant with him? It was like 26 medications and she wouldn’t go off of them even when the doctor told her to. His father was deeply concerned about it. Then she treated him horribly while he was a kid and just up and left him alone at 18 and a senior in high school. So much more went on. But I wondered “WHAT IF”. His mom had mental issues, did he inherit that from her? Did the meds she was taking have an affect on him while he was in the womb? What would have happened if he had gotten psychiatric help as a child? His father said he was an odd child. His father also asked a judge to get him help during his first trip to prison. I think there were a lot of missed chances for this guy. But he knew what he was doing was awful so he had to be held accountable and he was. He was at least honest about it when caught. I felt bad for almost everyone involved in this travesty.
If you guys are interested in serial killers us here in the United States have a lot of them to choose from. The green river killer on the west coast was convicted of 72 women I believe but I think he suspected of a few more than that.

The news that Dahmer was dead and the cause thereof was sent to me by one of the persons whose interview is featured in this video. This person also attended the execution of John Wayne Gacy.
I am old enough to remember newscasts. I was very young, however, the idea of shooting chemicals into victims, trying to make "sex zombies" has always stayed with me. I will not watch the Netflix show. Truth is stranger, and more horrifying 😢 than fiction. I wonder how the first responders who found the body parts all over his apt are today. If anyone would have PTSD i think it would be these people.
Dahmer only severed approx. 3 years when and inmate took a metal bar from the prison gym and beat his head in with it. I followed this case very closely and read everything I could get my hands on. Same with Jonbenet Ramsey, Bundy, Gacy, etc... People would never know it to look at me, I am a 60 year old Gram-ma, but these people fascinate me.
2:15 if he is a psychopath then he was born that way, its in the psyche. if his family or whatever made him that way then hes a sociopath, but he said himself in that 60 minutes interview i think "the only one to blame is whos sitting in front of you, me. not my parents, not my school, not this or that. Me."
Obviously upbringing and nurture is crucial in shaping a child, but sociopaths and psychopaths cannot be developed, they’re simply born like that. That being said you can still raise a sociopath/psychopath so that they know right from wrong (to some extent) and not be the stereotypical person we think they are. There are many sociopaths and even some psychopaths who are happily married with a family
This show glorifies killers. As a society we should not make stars out of bad people. We as viewers should do better Jobs of NOT giving this "glorify the bad people" stuff our time or views.
I really feel very bad for Jeff, of all the serial killers, he is by far the most interesting and inspiring. I would have loved to stay with him for some time.

Just finished the series. Evan Peters was amazing as always. If you check out American Horror Story you can really see his range. He plays a different character, all pretty dark, in every season. Sometimes he plays multiple parts.
Please could you throw some serial killer interviews in to the mix to react to. Also to echo what Dave is saying in regards to true crime on RUclips, Grimmlifecollective has an excellent channel.

I just finished it, it was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever seen on Television, I could only go two episodes before my soul felt dark, a very dark fascinating trip into, what my opinion was a literal demonic possession, absolutely chilling mini serious, the acting was phenomenal.
I was a kid when Dahmer was convicted and remember being scared because the News said he was eating black people and I was like 7. I have not watch the series because I remember all the News Stories as a kid; thus, I don’t need to see the series.

True Story: I grew up in Wisconsin and was in college when catching him broke the news. The next morning, someone banged on my front door until I woke up and opened it. It was my best friend who was going to school 200 miles from me at the time. He had a wild look in his eye and, before I could say hi or ask for an explanation, he shouted, "Do you realize when you combined Jeffrey Dahmer with Ed Gein, that puts Wisconsin back in the lead for the number of deaths to cannibals in the United States?" We laughed for abut half an hour then he drove back to college. We are a weird people.

It's weird to see y'all talking about how racist things were in the 1960s like it's not still happening in America today.
He wasn't a picky eater.
You can turn the auto play feature on Netflix off
Dahmer only severed approx.
Me."
I believe Dahmer was on a wrestling team for awhile.
My question is, which the Asian boy who was killed by Dahmer, where were his parents and why would they let them hang around with Jeffrey Dahmer?
Much love guys!
You guys should get the one black guy who survived testimony. My God he's only made it cause he was kind and humane. He knew Jeffrey was struggling.
Gacy executed in 94. Dahmer arrested 91
If your interested you guys should watch Danelle Hallan, she's one of the top crime youtubers, her videos are pretty detailed. Evan Peters has always been a phenomenal actor, hes in American Horror Story. Please react to more true crime, much love 💚🤍🧡
Actually autistic people are some of the most empathetic individuals, but because the appear aloof, we perceive that as lacking some kind of empathetic connection.
Evan Peters is such a great actor.
I’m pretty sure those cops were fired
Just finished the series. Evan Peters was amazing as always. If you check out American Horror Story you can really see his range. He plays a different character, all pretty dark, in every season. Sometimes he plays multiple parts.
Please could you throw some serial killer interviews in to the mix to react to. Also to echo what Dave is saying in regards to true crime on RUclips, Grimmlifecollective has an excellent channel.
I'm with you Daz, hate the autoplay.
They still work there too 🙃
I'm split on this, because I already know the story, I am interested in the acting, but I know it pissed the victim's families off
Maybe I'll just watch Silence of the Lambs again
I just finished it, it was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever seen on Television, I could only go two episodes before my soul felt dark, a very dark fascinating trip into, what my opinion was a literal demonic possession, absolutely chilling mini serious, the acting
was phenomenal.
You should watch the home video made of Dahmer visiting family.
I was a kid when Dahmer was convicted and remember being scared because the News said he was eating black people and I was like 7. I have not watch the series because I remember all the News Stories as a kid; thus, I don’t need to see the series.
Does Dave believe that Rhodesia "Never Dies"? I bet he doesn't even know shite about it.
I met him once at a gay bar in cleveland way back before anyone knew he was crazy .talked a lil that was all . thought he was to fucking weird for me to hang with so i said ok got to go you are to weird for me lol he must of been visiting his mother her house is not to far from where i live in ohio
I remember when they arrested him and talked about the disgusting details of his crime. I just couldn't believe that people like him exist. Then you hear him talk and see him and never suspect he would do such a thing. By the way, I don't think I am having any meat for a while.
🙄
Honestly, I love watching true crime show, and if guy want to watch them. You guy should watch on RUclips, search:
The True Detectives
Forensic Files
FBI Files
Those 3 are official channels of those show, and they’re also free. The first 2 are about general murder cases; while FBI Files is all about serial killers, kidnapping, gang, and terrorism.
the first guy wasn’t gay they met at the mall not at the club
The guy who escaped wasn’t gay.
They never actually showed Dean vaughned being killed in the movie....it was the imagination of his neighbour the movie was trying to show
The inmate that killed dahmer was Anthony scarver
Onto last episode now, very well done series
This was a 14-year-old Laotian boy.
Konerak Sinthasomphone
I mean it’s not a documentary lol
I wonder why they did not make Jeffrey Dahmer a black woman, like in all other movies ?
Dahmer is the American Dennis Nilsen.
but ed gein broke the ice.
I started watching the show but I’ve heard of Dahmer a long time ago .. didn’t care to continue watching it .. to be honest all this gay scenes kind of grossed me out 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Lol of all the scenes to gross you out it was the gay scenes. Not the disturbing gRape or murder/mutilation scenes?
Dahmer was beaten to death by his cell mate because he was describing everything he did to his vicitims
Dahmer could scrap according to the cops that arrested him.
You guys should react to the album "Dahmer" by the Death/Thrash Metal band MACABRE (they are from Illinois and every one of their albums deals with serial killers). Every song on the album deals with a part of Dahmer's life. It is an excellent album.
I’m from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (where the murders took place) it’s still very fresh for a lot of people here, over 30 years after Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested.
When you’re from a place where something like this takes place, you don’t have the luxury of thinking “that won’t happen to me.” Because you know it most certainly can.
I haven’t watched the Netflix series and there’s a good chance I won’t watch it. The Dahmer murders are just too evil and graphic and heartbreaking.
