I'd love a best of your favourite IFR approaches. KASE is great!

So question - does Asobo have the PAPI programmed wrong for this runway? i.e., in reality, when you hit the minimums at the FAF, you SHOULD see WWRR, and not 4-white, because you're right on the 6.8° glide path, right?

Seems they got it right just based of the approach plate. If you pause the video at 1.26/27, there’s a little paragraph in the side view of the approach that states “VGSI [PAPI in this case] and descent angles not coincident” and it states the threshold crossing height to be 56’ if on slope on the PAPI which is 3.50degs.
Side note would love to fly this in real life, be interesting to see the runway aspect like that and then circle for the other runway.

@@l.o314 Use to shoot the old VOR approach off DBL into ASE. If the visibility was at minimums and you didn't hustle down to MDA at landing configuration and on speed before reaching FAF, things turned interesting in a hurry. Particularly with the old straight wing 20 series Lear Jets. BTW there's a lot of aluminum in those hills from folks who tried to pull off a circle to 33. The owner of the old FBO had a couple of photo albums in the waiting area that were full of crash photos to remind folks that the mountains eat airplanes. Heard the new owner removed them. Them being bad for business and all.

That honestly sounds like a real bit of fun and interesting flying. Unfortunately I’m yet to experience anything like that in Australia, we got speed bumps for mountains.
Pretty surprised by the circling to land, I feel for the poor buggers that didn’t make it. But I guess it goes to show circling can be hazardous; the airline I was flying with, til Covid hit, actually banned it in our ops manual recently.
As for steep approaches haven’t experienced anything like the sounds of KASE. But did get stuck at 280 with 58 track miles firing out of Frankfurt into Mumbai last year. Talk about chop and drop in a jumbo at 350kts full speed brake and some how managing to get it stable by a thousand

Love your videos, I’ve watched pretty much all of them!! I’m learning a ton, so thank you. I have a couple of questions for you. I love the Cirrus SR22 in MSFS but I can’t seem to get my panel/instrument lights to work. Also the G1000 panels are dark and I can’t get them to brighten up. The fuel boost/prime button gets stuck on boost as well. How do you get around landing at night? I find that the landing/taxi light is super dim. Do you have any suggestions that might help with these issues? I love flying this plane as I’m a new pilot but find it no fun with these bugs. Please keep up the amazing work and keep bringing the great content. Thx again!!!

Tailwinds aren't helpful. 😅 - Where is the altitude restriction at CEYAG from? Can't see it on th plates. Is it the minimums?

The good thing about simulators is you don't have to worry about killing yourself or someone else.

Try the approach in a CRJ-700. I'll post a video of an actual landing in one.
