The moon is two days past full. Setting over Mandango to the west. It's dim ivory disk holding out against the brightening sky.The sun is rising in the east to begin another day in Vilcabamba. Thanks to Carl I'm seeing my back yard, Rumi Wilco, in greater detail. The nature preserve and trail system are here on the east side of the valley. With my view the camera needs to be ever ready. Lighting and clouds change and photo ops occure frequently. Pancha Mama designed and maintains all this for us. As Carl has observed we are blessed to live here. Grateful too. Thank you Ecuador.
@@AbundantLivingEcuador Random question. My son was getting braces on his teeth here in the US and the treatment is to be 15 months. Not sure I want to give that long of a commitment to stay here. Can you give me any information on where orthodontics care is located there. Is it just in Cuanca or Quito? And I’m guessing the cost would be a fraction of how much we were going to pay here($5500) Any info would be great. Thanks. Juanita
Hello Carl . I am amazed on how your pronunciation of spanish , with zero gringo-accent. On a side note, Ceibo and Ceiba are 2 different trees. Ceiba has spikes spreaded in the bark, as in your interesting video, while Ceibo has greenish bark and no spikes. Ceibo could be seen in drier landscape as in Bosque Seco de Sechura in Piura Region, Peru
Carl, I am wondering how you have this wonderful pronunciation with no gringo accent? Did you begin learning Spanish as a child or do you have some good tips for us?
Is Fernando the guy who edits these videos? That part at 14:16 where the music fades out as Carl talks about how silent it is, was a genius detail. Super impressed with the videography 👍
I got the shot (no, not that one) I got the photo. At the last minute I looked up from the computer screen and went to the window to look at Mandango. The moon had just arrived at north edge of the iconic mountain. Faint against the blue sky but clearly visible. I checked a website with an interactive sky chart. In a month the moon should set on the other side of Mandango's peak. Another photo op. We are only a couple of degrees south of the equator and this makes it an interesting location for sky gazing. Not so much sky now in the rainy season....but soon. I want to "mule" back a sky camera next trip north. Another Vilca plus.

🤣 Would love to see some of your photography one day Glen. 👊 ❤️
Loved the tour, with so much interesting information, but you can get rid of the loud annoying music. Please!
Thanks for the feedback!
@@AbundantLivingEcuadorBrandon, maybe metal is a better choice? Stone Cold Austin theme? 🤔
🤣 3:16!
As much as I like this video, it could be even better if the “music” were either turned way down or completely eliminated.
Thanks for the feedback!
Are trying to get people to move there? 😊
To the cabin in the woods? 👀
Do you have fire ants?
There are ants here yes… many different types. Fire ants? Maybe in some areas. Not a nuisance in our area.
