The first ABA players weren't dunking either. Dunking wasn't even a regular thing in the NBA until the 80s and 90s. It took decades for the men to start dunking in the professional leagues

Whether on a 10 foot hoop, or a 7 foot hoop, for SOME reason, I find it more impressive when a girl does a TWO-handed dunk! Funny, because with adult men, ONE-handed dunks seem to be more impressive. With these women, I DO like that basic fundamental Otis Thorpe one-handed dunk.

I've seen a lot of female dunkers. I've only seen three that bothered to learn some of the other aspects of offense, such as shooting skills, passing skills, screening skills, and footwork skills. That would be Breanna Stewart, Candace Parker, and Brittany Griner. I've only seen one that has learned to move without the basketball, flare off a screen, or shoot a pull up. That would be Breanna Stewart. When the day comes when we see more Breanna Stewart's I'll be in the front row applauding.

They really need to lower the rim, having women play on 10, it’s like if men had to play on 11 foot. Sure some athletic freaks like LeBron and Zach Lavine could still dunk. However, because of the raised difficulty we’re not gonna seeing any frequent posters, or high level dunks. Men like T.Mac get called sexist for suggesting, but there are countless other adjustments made for compensating for the difference in women’s athletic ability. End of day I wanna watch tall ladies dunk on each other and blocking dunks in the WNBA just like in the nba and its irritating that the only thing stopping it is stupid pride over an arbitrary rim height.
It’s a weird situation. Because of wanting to feel truly equal, they’ve trained their bodies and shots for that height of rim. To lower it would be unfair to the players who would basically have to relearn how to shoot and play the game.

1:40 Toby Fournier's dunk was from when she was 14 years old and before high school. She can do a reverse dunk now at 17
