Manga's pretty great so far. I just used the ANime, watching it all up to the end of the animated series, to just give me voices for the characters and name pronounciation.
Hunter Kenchov the hope that Author san will update a new chapter has dwindled down. This anime/manga is an underdog; great plot and characters are all kick ass.

too bad gangsta won't have a 2nd season imo it's highly underrated with potential but it seems it wasn't as popular as I'd hoped and I believe the company filed for bankruptcy after gangsta cause of the lack of popularity or the fact that it wasn't a hit rip...
Filing for bankruptcy doesn't mean the business is totally gone. Gonzo filed for bankruptcy and they are still in action today. In fact, the company's debt wasn't large considering their size--I believe if another studio doesn't pick up a new season, then Manglobe probably will in 3/4 years. Their bankruptcy was for other reasons anyway.
Fun fact, aragostulum, derives from greek which was a column that slaves were usually chained to, and in italian today, the word "ergastolo" derives from that word which is basically a life-time sentence prison. If you get the "ergastolo", it means you got a life sentence.
Dude this show is the shit. It gave me that Black Lagoon-ish feel that I've been missing. Nicholas and Worick are fantastic characters. I pray that this company gets back on their feet. I wanna see more Gangsta in the future
+Mectro15 Really, the only thing Black Lagoon had that was similar to Gangsta was the art style. Their color palettes and the way that everything generally looked. Other than that, I would say they are barely anything alike.

I know some people don't like Doug, but if you're going to kill a character, don't do it with a soundtrack that is used during scenes involving nonchalant activity.
Yeah, sort of like Marco from Attack on Titan. Still, they portray that when they dump his body in the pit of dead Twilights in Chapter 40, and I believe that they just didn't know how to execute it quite right, or just didn't care, since I think that was second to last (or last) episode, and as for the manga, there was more to cover, and the death had to be scrapped together.
I'm not really into watching a lot of anime, but I would watch GANGSTA for sure! The manga is awesome, but I hope that watching the anime doesn't change anything about my love for this manga!!
If anyone is wondering why there hasn't been new chapters in almost a year it's not only because the authors sickness but because the people who were translating the manga to english has stopped translating. The reason why they have stopped the translating is unknown, but chapters 41 and 42 have been released in Japan but haven't been translated to english. I'm not sure if the translators are going to continue translating Gangsta but it doesn't look promising. Though this happened a while back in 2013 when the translating of the manga also stopped but continued after a few months. But because we're nearing half a year since the release of chapter 41 it is possible that the translators have moved on to a new project.
I have a feeling that those are Airsoft guns than real firearms. I'm not saying I'm an expert on Japanese law, however I follow several Japanese airsofters and they usually remove the orange tip to make it more "realistic." Much like most airsofters in the US.
This my first Seinen anime and the first time I'm shipping for a pair. (NicoXAlex) But is it just me or in the end, Alex is gonna end up with Worick because Nico has a short life span and if I'm not mistaken, the more he takes of those uppers, his short life span gets more shorter.

I got caught up with the manga and was so excited that it finally had an anime adaption. Now to only find out that there is no season 2. I hope and pray that Kousuke gets better from her illness. I never heard of it, so I don't know the seriousness of it.

When I began reading the manga, I was kind of both infatuated and weirded out by the drawing style because it was different to what I was used to, but I love it. It's so much more detailed. They look like actual human beings. Go figure. xD I love it now.
I read the Chapter 0 just now (been meaning to get to it), but it seems that Nicolas had used or was going to use hearing aids. I know that 0 was not canon, but wouldn't it make more sense for Nicolas to use hearing aids, if he had access to them?

Considering he was born deaf, I honestly don't think he'd have any benefits of getting hearing aids as it would be very strange to be able to hear. Maybe when he was younger, but it seems like he's not bothered by the fact that he's deaf as of now, plus it's interesting to have a character like him in the series.

Even if some major company decides to pick up where the first season left off, they still wouldn't be able to complete the anime simply because the manga isn't completed either, and who knows if it will ever be, because the author is extremely ill and is taking a break due to obvious health reasons. The thought of someone else running the Gangsta universe and possibly ruining it makes me sick. I've never seen another anime with such a good plot; it's easily going in my top 5 favorite animes of all time, and don't even get me started on the manga. This isn't ideal, throwing the anime away after a major cliffhanger, but it's maybe better than letting someone else fuck everything up.
Are you saying episode 12 is the definite ending of the series ? I want a season 2, I want to know more about this universe. Although if the mangaka is ill, maybe this is the last we'll see of her work... I hope not, I guess we'll know when her next work comes out...
I'm soooo late to this video, however. I just finished gangsta on hulu, while kinda chuckling at its silly name, I was quite impressed and i am now in Gangsta hell, wishing someone will pick up the rights to this anime.
Not all about guns, it's about Worick and Nicolas ,pthe distinct dislike of the Twilights In Ergastulum, their struggles and the inner workings of the mafia groups and corrupt government. Yes many characters use guns but some don't including Nicolas. It also has heavy undertones about child abuse* directly seen, sexual violence forced prostitution * hinted at sorta seen, poverty ,maltreatment and definite, extreme racism. It can have a lot of trigger warnings. Personally I love it but I am into really dark anime and manga, it has amazing art and the blood and guts effects are absolutely horrific (clap clap ) I love those effects. Storyline is great but sad very sad and pacing is good , but if you are really sensitive be careful . I'm a crybaby and I am very emotional, so....yeah... still love it though. Oh! If you have problems with female nudity this is a no go. Rant over :)

Bruce Wayne in the manga was "anticlimatic" too IMO, but i think the reason for that was to show how little meaning have a death of a twilight

Even if some major company decides to pick up where the first season left off, they still wouldn't be able to complete the anime simply because the manga isn't completed either, and who knows if it will ever be, because the author is extremely ill and is taking a break due to obvious health reasons. The thought of someone else running the Gangsta universe and possibly ruining it makes me sick. I've never seen another anime with such a good plot; it's easily going in my top 5 favorite animes of all time, and don't even get me started on the manga.
This isn't ideal, throwing the anime away after a major cliffhanger, but it's maybe better than letting someone else fuck everything up.
Are you saying episode 12 is the definite ending of the series ? I want a season 2, I want to know more about this universe. Although if the mangaka is ill, maybe this is the last we'll see of her work... I hope not, I guess we'll know when her next work comes out...

Not all about guns, it's about Worick and Nicolas ,pthe distinct dislike of the Twilights In Ergastulum, their struggles and the inner workings of the mafia groups and corrupt government. Yes many characters use guns but some don't including Nicolas. It also has heavy undertones about child abuse* directly seen, sexual violence forced prostitution * hinted at sorta seen, poverty ,maltreatment and definite, extreme racism. It can have a lot of trigger warnings. Personally I love it but I am into really dark anime and manga, it has amazing art and the blood and guts effects are absolutely horrific (clap clap ) I love those effects. Storyline is great but sad very sad and pacing is good , but if you are really sensitive be careful . I'm a crybaby and I am very emotional, so....yeah... still love it though. Oh! If you have problems with female nudity this is a no go. Rant over :)
