      What about the men who do not want the baby? How do you then alleviate their financial responsibility? In any state if a woman filed dot child support the state will ensure they receive it. They will imprison them if it is not paid.

      @@eliesh3833 I used to be pro-choice until I saw some videos of the baby trying to get away as it’s being chopped up. Gross I know and I don’t say this lightly. To me it is a question of what Murder is legal. If the state allows it and the parents are ok with it Then it is what it is. A doctor can make that decision if a woman’s life is in danger as well. The whole thing makes me sad.

    Abortion is murder, and murder is illegal. It doesn’t matter if you were raped or involved in incest. You should not kill a baby for the sins of the father. The child should be the only thing good that comes out of it. If a mother should have a choice, whether she lives or the baby lives, and she chooses her life over the child’s life, that would be one of the greatest sins. Her life at that point is no longer valuable. Always choose a child’s life over situation.

      I'm talking about early abortions when there is not even limbs or digits on the fetus.
      It doesn't have a consciousness to feel the hurt or even what that was.
      It isn't a grown fetus.

      Keep abortion accessible. If someone wants to get one, they should be able to and if someone prefers not to then please don't.

    why do liberals beleive that 1 woman’s right is more important than ALL of a baby’s rights? it’s the baby’s body, not hers. women can get tattoos, implants, surgeries, they DO have rights to their bodies. saying they don’t have rights to their unborn child’s life (or rather death) isnt their body. so where does the “my body my choice” arguement have any logic or validity?

    Bad reporting, the majority of Americans support access to abortion. Mississippi and Alabama are the minority, not the mainstream. And as far as options for restoration of abortion rights, your research was extremely lazy and incomplete.

      So tell me, where is there ANY "right" to commit pre-meditated [first-degree] murder - or for that matter - steal my money to pay for it ? How do people imagine that they have any "right" to do this ? Spare me the special cricumstances such as rape, incest, or the life of the mother. I don't know of any one that does not make an exception in these cases. But to simply murder the baby because it is not wanted is beyond my imagination - just like everything else that Satan and the Democrat Party are trying to impose on humanity. Do I have any "right" or obligation to prevent the murder of unborn babies? Abortion is not a solution for to unwanted pregnacies. There is no government in the universe that has the "right" to make a law that says you may do this. Prior planning and deliberation are often closely intertwined. Thereby shutting down almost half of these planned parenthood clinics in what I refer to this country and continent DSA which stands for the decided states of America sense this fallen country ours. Is refusing to get itself from off of the ground and start standing on it and what I mean by that is the citizens in this country need to learn how to criticize a person in a positive way and not a negative or there'll continue to be insulting words coming out of peoples mouth's until the first day of Armageddon. And that's something that I refuse to see or be apart of until then this country doesn't deserve to called the United States of America.       I agree this is what things typically hinge on; however, like most on the left (not saying you are) you are missing something. The ruling against Roe V Wade and abortion was not the result of republican politicians or even their influence. Despite what you hear from them; this was purely a legal decision. I understand if most offices were held by democrats, abortion could be made law, but to attempt to hold republican politicians responsible for the reversal in Roe v Wade is just ridiculous and short sightedness.

      That is absolute rubbish. No one is being forced to have any baby.
      If yorkshire in uk decided abortion is illegal, and you lived in Bradford, what would you do?
      You'd go to derbyshire, or notts or lancs to get it done.
      They aren't tying women to beds for 9 months don't be so ridiculous.
      Each state makes its own law, just like each country in eu does so. The eu court has not issued any ruling on abortion, and us Supreme Court just did exactly the same thing. They said, its not up to us to decide. So the states each decide. They do so for THEIR population, based on what the voters want.
      If a citizen doesn't like it, they can freely move to another state. There are no boundaries.
      Also rape and incest victims DO have a legal right to abortion.
      Tell me, do you agree with California who HAVE legalized abortion at 9 months?
      A doctor either delivers the baby and just leaves it to die of starvation and exposure or injects it in the womb to stop its heart before aborting it. That sound right to you? Or does it sound like murder?
      Who needs 9 months to decide they don't want a baby?
      That's what this is all about.
      The 2 extremes. Those who want a total ban, and those who want to legalise murder. And the Supreme Court washed their hands of it and said YOU decide. It is not a constitutional right... that is all they ruled on.
      The Supreme Court are guardians of the constitution and ONLY rule on and hear cases regarding constitutional matters.
      If congress wants to make it law, they can. But they won't, because they know they will lose far too many voters.
      So they tried to dump this on the Supreme Court so they could blame them. And trump for some unknown reason since he has nothing whatsoever to do with this. The Supreme Court decide they weren't going to do the dirty work for spineless politicians.
      And now it's being used to try and paint the republican party as the devil. Which is simply not true.
      The president, btw, whoever it is, CANNOT make this decision, any more than king Charles can do so in uk. The president is like the monarch, with politics included.

    "The unborn" are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It's almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe

    For all the uninformed Brit’s out there unable to mind there own country’s business- the Supreme Court did not outlaw abortion anywhere. All it said was that the constitution is neutral on the issue and therefore it’s left to the democratic process just like in every other developed country. Any restrictions are not from the court, but from democratic majorities. By the way, roe was extremely radical in allowing elective abortions for 24 weeks. Most countries’ abortion laws, including the UK, France, Denmark, and virtually all of Europe apart from the Netherlands, would be struck down under roe.

      I also don't understand the logic behind expanding the court. What happens when Republicans have the house, senate and also the White House? They would want to expand to make sure they get the supreme court verdicts in their favor. Is it supposed to go on and on? Peope are so short sighted, they don't realise that if it wasn't for Harry Reid to change the rules in order to appoint Federal Judges Trump probably wouldn't have been able to appoint three Supreme Court judges.

      I think the rest of the world might legitimately consider not minding America's business, when America starts minding its own business. Hmm? As well as there being general greater awareness of the US, as the worlds cultural hegemony, than other places and empathy for those effected by the defacto loss of rights (whatever the institutional or legislative route), there is also the worry that when US conservatives sneeze, British ones catch a cold.

    If women in certain states are forced to carry a fetus, maybe men should be required to get vasectomies. Since the right to abortion is taken away in many states from women, men should have the same happen to them with vasectomies. What is apparently good for the goose is should be good for the gander. It takes two to create a pregnancy.

      @@historyrepeated4239 what I am saying is that the sperm initiates the growth of the fetus. Most abortions are performed within the parameters of Roe V/S Wade. Roe V/S Wade was compromise, and the world cannot exist without compromise, and give a take. At least it was a fair decision on both sides. Now that is gone, and an unfair result, against strong public opinion favouring abortion.
      The government should not be allowed to decide on what a women decides. If my mother had decided to abort me at birth I would still on her side. It was her prerogative and right to decide.
      Circumstances were favourable when it came to my birth. The time was right, the family could afford me,etc.
      I do not think life would be the same for me if I was forced to be born and then rejected or put up for adoption. To me that is more cruel than abortion.

    US States are still free to legalize abortion. I think this is the point of the originalists. Rather than having nine US Supreme Court justices force states to legalize abortion by "discovering" that the constitution guarantees the right, it is really a legislative matter that should be decided democratically. I must say, however, that the variety of state laws on this matter will give rise to bewildering legal complexity.

      Imagine, anyone but the unborn themselves, deciding what the value of their life is. This is not a power struggle between women's rights (unless the woman is in the womb) and the reach of the federal gov't. It is a matter of who speaks for the value of the unborn life. Of course, nobody is qualified to determined the value of an unborn life. It's too bad there are too many derelict fathers out there that put too many women in this position. That's half the problem. The other half is looking at abortion being a solution to solve a problem.......at the cost of an unborn life.

    It is now up to the individual states, rather than liberals sat in cities hundreds/thousands of miles away. If the majority of people want something, it gets voted in and vice versa. This is better than painting all the states with the same brush and expecting everyone to be happy about it. Roe v Wade being cancelled was the right thing to do.

      That divides society. The matter is Roe V. Wade, not how it affects the politics of republicans or conservatives. A fetus is not a baby, nor is an embryo a baby. The cherry picking republicans are real. The stage where people get an abortion is usually the stage where they bear an embryo or fetus within their womb. They are the precondition to humans, but they are not babies. Philosophically or otherwise.
      There are still liberals in every city advocating for the right stuff. Abortion should be a centralized human right; the consideration to keep yapping on about fetuses (which are not babies, they are literally not) instead of people who are actually alive and in need of help is the most disgusting cherry-picked action republicans have done so far.
      RVW was not cancelled. The democrats are acting quickly now. A democrat city in contrast within a republican state will mean the republicans have a stranglehold on the road areas to that city through law, and so on and so forth. That not only divides communities further, but it gives rise to more sinister neo-nazis, fascists, and conservatards.
      RVW will get codified. The Liberals are lobbying everywhere, it's not just in states where evil conservatives cuck their way into the law so they could feel, even if for a little while, that the World revolves around them.

    This isn't a "reproductive rights" issue. It's a "cull my unborn child" issue. It isn't a human rights issue, it's a human wants issue.
    That fetus is totally human. Yes it's small, dependant, in the uterus and not fully developed but do these circumstances dictate that it has no rights? I'm 58 yrs old, 6'6" tall, 245 lbs. Do I automatically have more human rights than a new born? I'm bigger, much less dependant, much more developed and not in utero. Certainly I don't have more human rights than my very young relatives and friends.
    Answer this please! Why is no one talking about the reproductive rights of unborn human women?

    i believe that we have enough forms of pregnancy prevention but they are not 💯 guaranteed
    i believe that women have the right to choose to end their pregnancies under a time limit ( i feel that 20 weeks in the uk is too high and should be like 12) also some women are not fit to be a parent and women who are victims of rape should not have to go through the pregnancy if they choose

    How could you not mention the ability to pass a new amendment of the constitution making abortion a constitutional right, this is the only permanent solution and you didn’t even mention it? Yes the likelihood is near impossible but seems like a pretty major point to miss out. You also didn’t mention the dangerous precedent allowing numbers of justices to be expanded sets, it virtually defeats the point of having a judiciary and makes it completely politicised even more than it is today

    If I'm on a diet and I see someone eating a cookie, I should not tell them that they aren't allowed to eat their cookie because I'm the one on a diet.
    If im a vegan and I see someone eating steak, I should not tell them that they aren't allowed to eat steak because I'm a vegan, because it doesn't affect them, my lifestyle is not their lifestyle and maybe they can't go on a diet because of health issues. I am not the person who should decide what they can and cannot eat, only they can.
    Just like how someone who believes abortions are wrong should not dictate whether I should or shouldn't have an abortion, because it's my life, not theirs. And if they're a stranger they have no right to tell me what I can't do with my body because I can't tell them what to do with theirs. It doesn't affect them, only me.
    if you're against abortions and don't want them then you don't need to have one, but it's important to have that option for the person who might need it.
    Romania illegalized abortions back in the 1980s I believe and it didn't help them at all, there were babies on the street dying because they were forced to be there. It didn't save children, it made children suffer alone because they weren't wanted, and the women died trying to get rid of them

A six month year old baby can process pain, is breathing, heart is beating, thinking, etc. It's not just a clump of cells anymore. A fetus is just a clump of cells, it can't feel pain, it doesn't have a heartbeat during when most abortions take place and it's not breathing

      Well Roe v Wade was hanging on the right to privacy...I'm not a lawyer, but I'm in good company when I say that's a stretch, and sidesteps the entire argument about when a fetus has a right to life. The justices who voted against the overturn didn't argue it was constitutional, they argued it's a slippery slope because other rights are protected on similarly shaky ground

      I thought,after Roe V Wade being overturned,The Federal States are no longer in position to intervene abortion.
      But instead it's given to The Individual States,The 10th Amendment of The Constitution says :
      "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
      Hence,the decision are given back to The Individual States,how does The SCOTUS being "unconstitutional"?

    Where do you find anyting whatsoever related to the imaginary Womans Right to an Abortion? With or without any sort of Originanist interpratation ?
    It's simeply not there. Never has been, and there is no "right" to commit pre-meditated murder.
    And what is pre-meditated murder ? Murder in the first-degree.
    " Prior planning and deliberation are often closely intertwined. Courts focus on the “pre” in premeditation, and generally look for evidence that the defendant deliberated and subsequently formed the intent to kill prior to the act of killing. This is justified because the defendant must have thought about the murder for a period of time and did not change their mind.
    There are several factors indicating premeditation and deliberation. These include: lack of provocation from the victim, actions and words of the defendant before and after the killing, any threats from the defendant before and/or during the killing, whether the victim and the defendant had a poor history, whether there was an additional lethal attack after the victim was already helpless, evidence of brutality, and the nature and number of wounds. However, many jurisdictions concede that there is no bright, arbitrary line when premeditation begins and ends."
    This is what Abortion is. It's absurd to even emaine that this is in anyway related to he 14th amendment.

    50 million. That is the number of abortions since 1973 that were elective procedures, not needed for medical or legal reasons, but purely for ridding the inconvenience of having a child. That is a low estimate out of the 65 million total. That is a bigger population than any US state, and closer to making two state populations. And abortion is still alive and well, you can still have an Abortion up to 9 months in New York, other states have cut it down to not include people using abortion as contraception. More than 20% have had at least two abortions, and 8% have had over three. The Supreme court simply moved the matter back to the states, just like cannabis and legal gambling. In which everyone was happy about.

    The Supreme Court only interprets the law.
    The constitution needs a new amendment that protects abortion of an embryo, but you need to tell that to congress. Shitting on the court does not make a lot of sense imo

    What are the actual rules of abortion? Upto how many weeks? These are the rules that should be set straight if ever Abortion becomes legal. And it should be under very valid reasons. Not just because they simply wanted to or didn’t want to. Pregnancy due to rape/incest or medical reasons that can endanger the mother’s life should be the only reasons and nothing else.       Everyone in this country has the right of bodily autonomy. It’s why you can’t force someone to give blood, or donate an organ. This right is still in effect after you die, and is the reason why the government can’t just come in and take all your organs after you pass on.       Right to have an abortion is not a positive right, it does not mean forcing someone to provide you an abortion then that would be a positive right, they are talking about the right to be allowed to have an abortion. Meaning the individual pays for it and the person providing the service is doing it voluntarily. No one’s individual rights are being violated in these circumstances. The only individual right being violated is the right to your own life and ability to do what you choose with your body which is being denied by state governments

    Should never be a political issue. Once it is, it becomes a problem that can never be solved. Too many variables. It’s not the governments job to solve personal problems. It’s not the governments job to pay for the cost of personal problems. Percentage wise it affects a small percentage of women. Probably 5-10 percent. Heath wise you can’t ban abortion and legally you can’t force the population to pay for it.
    At best ,the government should insure that all health facilities meet the strictest standards and then stay out of it. The Constitution doesn’t guarantee abortions!

    Democracy rarely suits everyone. And as abortion isn't a constitutional matter it is a legislative matter, either at the state level or the federal level.
    Packing the Supreme Court would also have a negative fall out.
    There are several solutions to the matter on an individual level and a legal level.
    Attacking the Supreme Court for just doing their job is pretty daft though.

      ​@REEEEEEE . Scientifically speaking, a new human life begins at the moment of fertilization where a completely new DNA is created that has never existed before and will never exist again. The sperm itself is not considered a distinct human life according to science.
      When it comes to adoption, there is more demand than offer when it comes to the adoption of newborns.

      I trust that every single person who subscribes to the 'sanctity of life' philosophy in their opposition to abortion is also opposed the death penalty. The odd thing is that there is an anomalous correspondence between states now reverting to abortion bans and the continued use of capital punishment.

    I don't know about this its complicated as abortion being a constitutional right is debatable. The government should not at all be in control of life period. However the man should also have this right not to pay for child in these 9 months

      @@chuckthebrindlepittie6820 what I was trying to point out, if we want government to be completely out of a women's choice to have baby or not, then also the man should have the possibility within that 9 months to opt out being responsible for the child , if you decided to have it, or not to have it. Since your still asking the government for help to get money from the farther, after baby is born then of course farther has to be responsible. you know? it will never work being just a one sided matter

Now that the Supreme Court has made that virtually impossible, men, as well as women, need to be very careful indeed. The landscape around this will get uglier, more complicated between the genders. Everyone should be afraid.
